First time to see this group this weekend at CreationFest...what a blessing!! This song was done in 100 degree (F) heat...thought the drummer was going to keel over. Thank you for leading worship for us!!
luv tis song it always makes me reflect on my life and my relationship god nd i hope tis song blesses everybody dat ever get 2 listen 2 it god bless luv ya all xxx
I don't know what kind of instrument that is that the guys playing in the back. But I know he is playing the heck out of that. Y'all better go ahead and have church. Praise the Lord!
haven't listened to 'worship' music in years, but had to purchase their albums after sampling them on iTunes a few months back. SO REFRESHING. reminds me of the kids in Asthmatic Kitty (and maybe Mumford & Sons).
I actually like this version much better than the CD version. Something about live performances sound so raw and full of passion. The simplicity of just the 4 band members without any computer editing is just awesome.
Since when is loving your brother or sister considered NOT loving God? Im kinda of put off by your comment. I know you mean well, but dont try so hard to find fault. Damaris is clearly blessed by this music and appreciates what they've created. Telling the band he loves them in no way means he's not worshiping God through their music!
Actually, (and I don't mean this to be rude) but the "piece", which is called a Jingling Johnny, is actually pretty fundamental to the overall sound of the song(s). It accents the kick drum and adds a "clapping" sound. Plus all of the personal touches and pieces he added to the Johnny really is the glue that holds the sound quality of the song together. Plus it's just stinking cool.
Use your wrist ;) It just sounds how because of the double strums. You can try to practice on a flat surface by using your thumb for down strums and the other fingers for up strums (following the drum helps!)
Mumford and Sons has never said they are a Christians. There music is certainly inspired by religious themes and terms. Mumford makes great music, and their lyrics are super poetic. They wrote the songs and their word choice (even the f-words) add to the emotions of the song.. (example: "broken crown" is such an angry song, the little four-letter-word adds strongly to the emotion)
I don't disagree. I love Mumford and Sons. I would even say they're my favorite musical group. And my point was that they had never said they were Christians, actually. And I don't think that the f-word has a place in a song whether you are trying to convey emotion or not.
Totally respecting your opinion, its just a difference in mine I suppose. Not a fan of the f-word itself, but I'm a huge fan of word choice, and there just doesn't seem to be another way to convey "it was not your fault, but mine. and it was your heart on the line.. I really [MESSED?] it up this time.. didn't I my dear?" Messed up seems tame. Softer for the ears. But i think they wanted the harshness of the word. He totally spits it out, full of regret and sorrow. Just some thoughts..
Fortunately, your take on christian music is not the way that it works. If you and I have opposing views on the christian faith then its probably negligible to try to mutually agree on this here and now. But even if it were the case that christian music, or worship music was just a feel good thing, why not be happy for those that feel good? There's enough in this world to feel bad about! Feeling good goes hand in hand with having hope, and hope is what these songs are all about! Wooo! feelin good!
There lyrics are A-MA-ZING!!! Praise God, forevermore!
its a Christian mumford and sons! love this song so much we were singing it in worship at church!

It's called "stomp fiddle" It is used frequently in Irish music and in American folk/bluegrass music
That's exactly the amazing instrument mentioned in Psalm 150:7: "Praise Him with the ringthecellobellfryingpanshaker!!!"
I FREAKING LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!!
Really? Think about it. Should you love them or God? Don't make an idol out of them. :)

They call it a "jingling johnny," more commonly known as a turkish crescent. I need to get myself one!
Do you know where I can get one?
Use your wrist ;) It just sounds how because of the double strums. You can try to practice on a flat surface by using your thumb for down strums and the other fingers for up strums (following the drum helps!)
What is that amazing worship tool he's playing back there?
They're like a Christian Mumford, which makes me happy
its called a jingling Johnny. Its an old Turkish instrument.
right before they start playing, what does the guy say?
Is it weird that i love this even though I'm not christian... O.o
What songs do they sing?!
good video and song too!!
this is already amazing...but i think a banjo would fit in well.
Muito boooom!
a jingling johnny! :)
The bassist is wearing a 'Blackout' t-shirt >.< :D
You know Mumford come from Vineyard church right?

Heh, in a couple years, my man in the hat's gonna be a hunch back with a HUGE left arm!

A jiggling johnny.

?
Rend collective never played little lion man. You are thinking of Mumford and sons, different band than the guys playing here.
sounds like Mumford & Sons
When will christians understand that the christian music is only there to give a good feeling?
xD
You're wrong
Fortunately, your take on christian music is not the way that it works. Never. Since your statement is false.
Now, anything to say on the entirely BIBLICAL content of this song?
stomp fiddle
Chords? C G F?
I think it's a pneumatic drill
Well, cept Mumford puts the f-word in at least one song per album which kinda ruins the Christian aspect of it for me....
This is such ass. Love the unnecessary procussion "piece" in the background.
super edgy
