It's like the violins crying and trying to reach out for help while the piano tells and explains it's tale
As someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts, the scene with Reg and Nanachi on the riverbank.... hurt. A lot.
I've made excuses like that before. Non-commital answers like "We'll see" or "I guess we'll find out" when I discuss my mental health. Like I'm deliberately trying to leave the door open for... that.
So hearing Reg say "No, even after you've 'served your purpose' or whatever, you still need to live" was hard enough. But then Nanachi actually having the guts to tell him it was cruel... I couldn't deal with that.
Because that's how it feels, sometimes. It feels like you're just living so someone else won't be sad. I've literally talked myself down from some of my worst episodes by telling myself "you'll hurt your friends if you do this." So, I guess, seeing it played out from the outside.... it just got me.
As an internet stranger, I wanted to say: I'm glad you're still here. Please, keep it up, keep moving foward one little step at a time, everyday. As Michael from The Good Place would say: Take it sleazy!

How I feel every time my parents talk about my great-grandmother's original house caught on fire for a little bit, is slowly rotting away, and covered in plants and trees. Precious memories were had in that place for literally decades slowly being overran by plants coming from the cement in the backyard area.

Whenever I hear this song I imagine a white whistle on the 6th layer, finally in peace after so many battles with beasts and so much fear, and now that they're in peace, they remember the tranquility of home, when things were simpler, when they didn't had to fear for their life, where they were safe... A beautiful place, where they can't get back anymore, because they decided to descend to the capital of the unreturned, to get to the bottom, and now they'll never get back to the people they knew.
They'll never come back...

I agree with gAIA. A white whistle is way beyond human, of all the examples Ozen is the "NORMAL" one. Let that sink in.
What pains me the most is that Riko will never see Natt, Shiggy and Kiyui ever again, damn, imagine 30 years from now Natt is the Supervisor at the Orphanage and kids will ask him "Who's that girl with yellow hair" he then remembers one of his very first friends who is now only a memory and he starts crying, that must be painful as heck.

That's the song i listen to when i study
I think of the clouds when I write and how they are the water that has circulated through our world since its birth. Knowing nothing but experiencing every joy an horror that we humans have experienced and will experience.
The clouds whisper words of cruelty and bliss only because they are our own.
Then they are just clouds.
That's what I think of when I hear this song, the continuing cycle of clouds.
This exact OST has a special meaning to me now that I've watched and read everything there is for the story. When this plays for the first time, from the perspective of the viewer, I realized that it will never be the same again. Reaching the point when you have to deal with losses, which will spiral down more and more through the story. It just makes me wonder if there will be anything left, a character, a memory or just a glimpse of a moment. Whoever follows this story has to realize that the finale will be hard to accept, even if there is no other way it can turn out for the protagonists. So I'd very much like to inspire people who watch/read it to also get stronger. This story makes you learn that. The deeper it goes, the more people it affects who haven't had their emotions and thoughts mixed to the point, when they can't avoid pondering about it.
Riko is like that tiny light in all that abyss :(
