I didn't get the news until my girl called me at 10 something at night while I was on my PS5 and when she told me that Sacramento traded for Demar, I literally started running around my house yelling in excitement

If Sac doesn't make another move (something involving Huerter -- preferably for someone that can play the 4/5 like Portis or the 4/3 like Kuzma -- or at least trying to pick up a FA like Precious Achiuwa who brings energy, size and defense to the front court), this is still a really nice upgrade. A possible starting unit of Fox, Ellis, DeRozan, Murray, and Sabonis is much better than what they had before. Fox, Ellis, and Keegan Murray can play solid-to-good defense and Murray has all the tools to grow into an elite defensive player. Fox and DeRozan are both potent offensive weapons and also two very clutch players. Sabonis is a great facilitator, rebounder, and scorer around the rim. Keegan moves great off-ball and can score well off of DHOs and catch-and-shoot shots from basically anywhere on the floor quite well. Then that allows Monk to remain the sixth man running the second unit where he is most effective with the ball in his hands to score and create and now he could pair up with Huerter and Lyles to potentially rack up a lot of points for the bench rotation. There's also a lot of optimism that rookie Devin Carter will be able to contribute pretty quickly as a quality perimeter defender that plays with lots of energy and grit. That means the bench unit could possibly be Monk, Carter, Huerter, Lyles, and Len which gives the team pretty good depth, especially on the offensive side of the floor.
