Awesome work and terrific advice. I need to give your speedpaint wet-blending techniques a shot, I usually rely on the zenithal priming to take care of tonal shifts like that.
the old army painter speedpaints are fantastic for this, there's an initial blending but if you come back an hour later you'll realize it keeps blending slowly for quite a while. This creates some super super smooth transitions
I mixed Stynlrez white and black primers, only because I'm out of their grey primer right now. I'm not sure the exact ratio, but probably 2:1 white to black primer?

You should! Zenithal priming definitely helps but blending together speedpaints feels like such a good and pretty easy way to push it further.
