  • Firearms examiner Paul Greer testified that shell casings found near the body of Alex Murdaugh’s wife, Maggie, have markings that match shell casings found at their family shooting range. Greer’s testimony is crucial to prosecutors’ case, who allege Paul and Maggie Murdaugh were murdered at their South Carolina home with a family weapon.

At this point I just can't see it being anyone else. Why would someone come onto the huge property, known Maggie was there and not at the beach house. Known they were at the kennels and just hoped they'd be guns they owned there that they could use to murder them and then not kill alex who was there mins before the murders. There is nothing else that make sense other than he killed them.

And don't forget NOTHING was ever found pointing at anyone else plus the suspicious disappearance of his previous outfit...people say there is not enough evidence to point at him, but there is ZERO to point at anyone else.
You are right, why would anyone kill them and not him if he was RIGHT THERE and the one doing all the shady stuff...in the tiny unprovable posibility that someone else did it, it was definately because of him anyways, so whether he shot them or someone else did in front of him, it was all his fault at the end for sure.

MOTIVE? Paul's irresponsibility brought a deluge of financial inquiries, civil lawsuits, and was key in uncovering Alec's financial crimes. It also encouraged the re-opening of investigation into the 2015 death mystery. Maggie's divorce attorney was poking into marital assets- already living separately 1.5 hrs away in Edisto- she was out of the marriage as soon as Paul's trail was over and he shipped to prison for 7-10 yrs. With a barrage of looming indictments forthcoming and Maggie poised to ride off into the sunset with the balance of marital assets all Alec saw was abandonment, failure, and utter humiliation... His law license revoked- a fraud of a man- life as he knew it was over. Complete shame led way to eliminating the provoker (Paul) and the only person who stood to get out of his web of lies with any dignity (Maggie). MOTIVE IS EVERYWHERE... Alec Mardaugh IS A COWARD!

Ok, I haven't heard this question and would think it would have to be asked. I make my own rounds in shotgun, rifle, pistol and revolver. The powders used vary greatly between shotgun and rifle so much so that you would never use them interchangeably. So if Alex were the only shooter would he not have signatures of both types of powder residue on his garments that were tested for GSR? If he used an AR then rifle powder GSR would be found and then shotgun powder GSR would be found after he used that weapon. They would have both been found had he been the only shooter and the FBI labs in Quantico have signatures of just about every gunpowder and explosive known, even the exotic stuff. The prosecutors and defense both risk asking the question though as it could hinder or help their cases depending on the findings of the GSR signatures found.

The Defendant as far as I can see dose NOT show any of the signs of being addicted and the Defense has not talked about this defendant not being able to sit in one place for too long or having a problem staying awake during the long days of this trial. This may be another lie he has created to have an alibi for his actions. I am surprised the Prosecution has not already requested a DRUG SCREEN. Who knows - Maybe someday if the property is developed as a subdivision, the guns will be found.

You have a very good insight about numbers! When we have evidence that can be measured, the numbers speak for themselves. Numbers don't lie...people do. Numbers help us with timelines (like time and distance traveled by a suspect to commit a crime), trajectory of bullets, type of bullets & guns, position of bodies and angle of bullet wounds and, blood splatter evidence. The more of this objective data, the better for the prosecution as it really adds up.
