    • @SBeest1
      @SBeest1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would be a great match-up, but have to give that win to Robinson. Robinson can match Leonard in every respect: speed, agility, ring IQ, but has far more power. If Leonard would fight a smart out-side fight, it could go both ways. If SRR got close and could use his superior infighting and body punching he would demolish Leonard.

    Past his prime in nearly all these fights and fighting bigger men. It would be like if Mayweather had fought Hopkins, Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik, Paul Williams, Golovkin. Even fighting Maxim at 175 and giving up 16 pounds would be something like Floyd fighting Joe Smith Jr. at 175. And people still talk like Floyd is better than SRR. Maybe if Floyd went up to 160 and attempted 175. Sugar was robbed in many fights and dealing with racism in his career which is truly disgusting what the man had to go through. Even hearing crowds booing him is insane, the man was a once in 100 years type of fighter and getting booed in his own country. He also got a lot of respect though and was credit as the best of all time which I'm sure he appreciate. I don't know about out of the ring but his wife seemed happy in the clip in the video at least. Nobody is perfect but when it came to inside the ring, SRR was perfect. Not only that but he dared to be great. He signed to fight Floyd Patterson and with that chin on Patterson I won't be surprised if Sugar KO'd him and became heavyweight champ. You wouldn't see Floyd signing to fight against Patterson I can comfortably bet my life on that. All those great fighter know what they are looking at and they are all saying he is pound for pound king. I ain't arguing with Jack Dempsey opinion.

    Ali just didn't have the punching power of Sugar Ray, he could get a man out of there with either hand at any moment. Sugar Ray was so dangerous in his prime, he feared he was going to kill a man in the ring and didn't want to fight him. This unfortunately did come to pass, I don't believe he was the same after. Sugar Ray was not only great he was actually very dangerous, it was risky getting in there with him at the height of his skills.

    "Sugar" Ray Robinson never lost a welterweight bout, and he had just about 100 of them. World welterweight champ for more than 4 years, from December, 1946, until he moved up and beat Jake Lamotta for the world middleweight championship in February, 1951. This is why they call the welterweight "Sugar" Ray Robinson" the greatest boxer P4P who ever lived. He boxed 18 world champions and 10 hall of famers in his career. And this is when there was only 1 world champion per division and no junior divisions, like junior middleweight division, and no super divisions like super middle weight and super lightweight, etc.

      @@Jerrylewis12here Nope. Anybody who states that Sugar Ray Robinson would get beaten by boxers today, does not know what he/she is looking at in boxing. You don't. Boxers in the 40s when Robinson was at his best fought much more often. They were better and got better by actually fighting top competition and winning over and over and over. The experience guys like Robinson had in the boxing ring in the later 1940s, and still in his 20s, no welterweight today can beat Robinson.
      Today's boxer even world champions have typically 30 something bouts after boxing 8 or so years. Guys like Robinson fought much more frequently way more than twice as often as today's boxers do. Had 100 bouts in teh same amount of time. And Robinson fought the best. 18 world champs, When there was 1 world champ per division and no jr or super divisions. He fought 10 or more hall of famefrs, etc. Robinson moved side to side in and out going to both body and head with combinations off a strong super fast accurate jab. He would beat up the welters today.
      Want to learn how to throw punches correctly to get the most power and positive effect for yourself? Watch boxers like Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson. No better puncher at heavyweight than Joe Louis. I think he is the greatest ko artist, greatest puncher ever. Trained by Jack Blackburn.
      BTW, even Muhammad Ali after he retired said Joe Louis is the best heavyweight boxer, ever. You don't know boxing. Ali looked up to Louis and Robinson.

    • @nycinstyle
      @nycinstyle หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jerrylewis12here I answered correctly. You don't know boxing. Anyone who thinks boxers like Robinson and Louis would get beat by todays boxers simply because decades have passed, does not understand boxing. No boxer today throws his punches beter than Louis did. And Robinson is still the best P4P ever. Those guys fought regularly. Fought the best out there and there were many more men who took up boxing then. It was much more common for young men to participate in boxing then, than it is now. Now,, the people who participate in any level of boxing is miniscule compared to that era pre 1960. Especially in the 1920s through 1940s.
      It takes more than one or two generations for humans to develop enough that they are superior in strength, speed, etc. to prior generations. The boxers back then actually boxed. Over 100 pro fights for boxers was not unusual in a career.

      @nycinstyle I'm going to ask you the question again, and I want you to carefully read it and stop saying I said something I never said when this is the first day I've spoken to you,I don't want you to tell me anything about Louis or SRR being able to compete,Now I want a direct response to my question only. Can you do that?
      Now I'm asking again from the full matches I got my footage from; I see comments like this: "Tyson would beat these guys in 1 round." Boxing has come a long way. Any amateur would beat these fighters. These two look like cavemen. Had these boxers faced fighters from the 70s or now, they would be beaten in 1 round; Rocky was overrated. I can’t see Rocky coming forward against Foreman, Lennox, or others. Is this slow motion? These fighters were more sluggers. They didn’t fight as smart as boxers do now. These fighters wouldn’t survive against boxers today. If these fighters trained like the ones today, they would do better,do those guys who said that know boxing or not.
      Why do you think they said those things if you said boxing doesn't get better over time? It stopped back in the 1940s,by you're definition

Mediocre boxers like Rocky Graziano, Tommy Bell, Rocky Castellani, Jake LaMotta, and Artie Levine floored Robinson. Prohibitive, 20-1 underdog, Ralph Jones, beat Hell out of Robinson. Third-rate Paul Pender beat Robinson twice. Soft punching Randy Turpin beat Robinson. Willie Pep fought many more fights than Robinson, with many fewer losses.
