Golden words. I bowl offspin and when I go around the wicket to lefties and bowl fast, they cant touch the bowl often. The only bowl that works slow for me is the doosra to righties coz it bounces more and turns very slightly, almost like a top spinner and often gets me the top edge
@CricketSpinner Yeah, its hard to explain on text but its turning your hand opposite side and bowling it. Think of Murlitharans hand position when releasing the bowl. Ofcourse, it changes the action and I might be bending the elbow more but we play in friendlies and no one has ever objected... but it works really well for me for around 2 decades...
Awesome. So, I have been thinking of making a video asking people to stop thinking about doosra. And instead focus on carrom ball. You are the first person I encounter who is bowling doosra with tennis. What do you think of my recommendation?
@CricketSpinner Yes, you are right. It doesnt turn much but it has always been good enough for me. Coz with the weekend warriors playing cricket, they are always looking to slog it to the legside with a cross bat. My doosra turns slightly and bounces more which always gets me a nick to the keeper or a top edge. Note that I bowl it around the wicket and give it air to encourage batsman to slog it..
Has it been a case with you where sometimes ball spins well in some pitches and not at all with some . Wherever there is friction there is more spin . Tiled grounds don't present with that ig .
Ohhh now I understand. For some reason I kept reading tiled as tilted in your first message 😬😬😬 and was like “what is wrong with you” 🤣 yea so I have mostly played on grass or mud or mat or road. Spins well on all those. Tiled or non friction surface I haven’t played on them enough to form an opinion on what to do. I can try if I find a surface like that. But yea it’s got to do with friction and resultant gripping. I am getting a good video idea from your message.

I kind of understand how we bowl it. But the thing is I can’t get it it to turn much. Are you able to turn big?
