What's up barevids. Just want to say I watch and enjoy your vids and knowledge on amplifiers, subs and car audio period. I'm a car audio competitor from Pittsburgh Pa. I been into car audio since 1990 when I got my Driver's license at age 25. But your never too old to learn. I have 737 trophies to date in car audio. So I have a question. I'm currently running 8-Taramp MD8Ks. The preamp settings, like the LPF, exactly where should that be set? I actually turn it all the way to the right. I make that setting on my HU to 80hz. Since the HU is the main brains of the system, I figure it controls everything. Now I am running line driver eq's as well. I use to set my amps the same way, but I noticed most competitors turn that setting off: (to the right). Also is 80hz too high? That's another setting I learned that competitors set it at. No I don't play frequencies' that high, lol. But I do Burp and street beat day to day as well. My wall is tuned to 34hz. My resonate frequency of my car is 43hz. so that's the test tune I burp. I also run most of my amps at .5ohm. which is .6ohm on my fluke. I've had my MDs this way for 2yrs now with no issues. I rise to 1.4ohm. I've ran all my amps @.5ohm rather chinese, Korean, or Brazilian.
Thought about getting a Sundown SFB amp on sale to power my new 15s, but haven't heard many good things about them so far. Might be trying one of these amps.
@@shawnelliott3257 there's a UK distributor, yes. There aren't "stores" as such there's just one place you order online. Audio scene is very small over here.
@@Mr.NpK143 EMF amplifiers are teampie amplifiers from alibaba. He gets you to preorder to bankroll the orders and you wait like 6 months if your lucky for it to arrive. Because I have to be aware of all that’s out there good and bad. If you don’t believe me on his amps look it up. I’m not talking trash these are facts. He also talk quite a bit of trash on others. He can’t make a video on just his laurels. It’s always how everyone else is bad etc.
@@angelvip2474 I'm well aware if the preorders he has and the extended wait just like Collin with wolfram, but still the cookie cutters amp is a well built Korea board amplifier. Even if you barely touch the lpf he suggests you'll be at 150hz which is not where subs want to be. Is this a great amp? Yes! To ridicule a product is one thing, but the company is another. you mentioned how the components in the Taramps arent secured as well as they should be or could be. if i wanted to take some preventative steps to secure them more tightly and keep it from being an issue in the future, what sort of adhesive would you recomend i use to better secure them? just regular hot glue from a glue gun, e6000, CA? thank you for all of the great info

Hey barevids - what do people mean when they say Brazilian amps are voltage sensitive? I watched this entire video and you have 99.9% encouraged me to upgrade to Powerus for my next build. It's crazy how here in America all of the Korean board companies try to talk down about and steer you away from Brazilian amps! One of the main things I hear is theyre so "voltage sensitive" .... As long as I have the proper electrical to power these amps would I run into any issues?
It means they don't understand about amps 😁 output switching frequency of these and other brazilians is locked regardless of rail voltage, unlike Koreans which vary with voltage, causing possible instability.
What an awesome video, i don't really know much about all this. Im abiutto but all new hardware for my upgrade. Im currently running two sundown ev12s. Ive just ordered two BASSFACE SPL15.2S D2 SUBWOOFERS @ 2100w rms each, im looking at this amp or pw5000 version. Im gonna the subs in series parallel, so they'll be running 2 ohm together. Which amp would recommend for them subs.
Urgh god. Try and cancel the order on those subs or send them back. Worst subs you could have bought literally garbage. Not even half their RMS rating. If only you researched first.
If you don't mind. Do you know the MSRP of that amp I can do the US currency conversion on my end. The only distributor that I have got a price from is marking up ridiculously high, and I'm sure that it is not anywhere near the price. Let's just say I could get a Korean overbuilt amp that would do about the same rated power at the same cost.
Can you do a run down on an RE XTX5000.1 V1. My positive rail power supply dropped 2 FETS which traveled through the transformer melting one wire thr to the negative rail whit dropped 2 FETS as well
Question, so if I'm correct sometimes I hear you saying some amps only use half of the sine wave. And some use the upper and lower +/- parts. Is there any advantage or db boost or does it make a subwoofer say any better when using the latter of the two?

So they are pretty decent amplifiers? I have another question for you? Why do you hear bass playing through a Korean amplifier when every thing is turned off vs my taramps?
I seen that there's a couple opened spots to add Moffett on the output section and it also looks like there's an open spot to add rail caps is that for the 10K or can you add more mosfets in a cap to up the performance of this amplifier? Just curious
Hi I have a Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdcp from 2019. Is this a good amp? Quality of it? Someone told me they get hot and the parts inside on the board are not good?
badass amp. steve meade uses them and abuse them. he loves those amps they will easily put out more than 2500w just make sure you have good electrical; big 3, extra battery, high output alternator and use ofc wires or at least welding cable. they do get hot but thats their design and board is solid. you can run them under 1ohm with no problem
Sam, is there a way to bypass the crossovers? I do not need any of the crossovers, I would want to use my active crossovers. Is it even worth doing? I dont want the subsonic affecting my low end. I'm thinking short the hp pot?
@@barevids I appreciate the answer. I almost pulled the trigger on one today, but then I came across the Mr Musicman Ear Candy 3500.1. Facekicker did an amp dyno on the 3800.1 today. After seeing the gut shot of the 3500.1 and chatting a bit with the owner, I pulled the trigger on the 3500.1. Not much info on there website, but he says he is using a new for 2021 board design with G0225 mosfets. Have you had any experience with amps using those fets? Are they reliable? I counted 84 fets/opamps on this boards, seems extremely robust for a 3500w amp. Have you seen a board like this one before? I hope you get back to me. His website is www.mrmusicmanaudio.com
Question. I heard you say to get a bigger amp and turn it down. I have the Sundown SFB 3000D. I didn't need an amp with that much power but I got it from a friend. I run 2 10" JL w6 subs which is 1,000w RMS. My question is, would it best best for the amp to run the amp at 4 ohms or at 1 ohm and turn it down?
The amps reliability issues aren't related to the load attached. These things are going pop just idling or on power up even with higher loads connected. Choose 1 ohm and enjoy while it lasts.
I really do like the circuit. And I would like to support the brand however At the current asking price, roughly $599 U.S for a 3.5k(from my research) I need to see some more modern features To purchase. For example daul inputs, higher quality pre-amp/ crossover section, panel mount rca etc. I understand they are fairly new to the market. But if they are going to charge the price of more established brands with these features. I'm going to need to see a bit more. I do feel it has a lot of Potential.
Thats a very reasonable price, have you seen the price of a 3.5k amp from the likes of DD, DC, sundown etc using outdated inefficient 20year old circuits with no active health check or thought to reparability? its like 3 times the price!
In the states to get a powerus amplifier it is the same cost or more than a (D4S) Korean built of the same power. That is also dependenon if you can even get a powerus amplifi which has proven very difficult from any reputable dealer
Now Sam, as I'm looking at this board and design, doesn't it seem that this board can be upgraded to do much more power than rated? 4 more spots for output mosfets, one more rail capacitor and higher current ps mosfets and this thing could do well over 10k.
@@barevids do you think the main premise of having open spots for "extra" parts for be utilized as such? You did say in the vid that those irf 1404s' could be upgraded, and the drive circuit looks more than ample enough. I'm just remembering some of the old Zed built HiFonics 7 series amps and how they could be modded to do more.
I explained in the video, these amps come in 2ohm, 1ohm and 0.5ohm options. For the 2ohm version it needs greater numbers of higher voltage lower current mosfets in order to work reliably. For the 1ohm and 0.5 version, the mosfets are high enough current not to need so many. That's why there are spaces on the board.
❌MD line was designed for the 12volt U.S. Market different output devices for more tank build & higher current less voltage ,opposite of HD line built more for pro audio Brazilian like concerts, think high hertz bass not low bottom / both MD & Bass lines built for US market HD was not reliable do to high current setups compared to high voltage setups in Brazil 🇧🇷 I personally run MD line because they put out a bit more power then bass line // I have the limited Premier MD8k with better Capacitors and voltage meter and chrome heat sinks// but the chrome Ltd are no longer available 😫 the _full-throttle_ blazer uses two of them on four sundown zv5 15” doing 160+db they replace his blow Soundigitals /SD looks better but there coils although looking nice ,are weaker then MD&BASS lines // and the chrome MD’s looks sick.. if you can find them , I remove that black sticker on my amps for an all chrome look like old school surf board Amps because I’m old school ,but like New tech high current amps and that chrome looks classy as F*ck‼️

I bought the smart 8 k because of your recommendation. Almost wish I would of seen this first. Thanks for your insight.
My number #1 question is where do you buy Powerus amplifier in United States ?
These full bridge amps are some of the best full bridge im came across.
Budget gem or bust page aka Ryan Blankenship did a dyno of the 8k and did really well on the dyno
yes he did.....11,000+ watts dynamic at 1 ohm
Great video as usual Sam.
Great video man. Love how you put sections in the video as well sweet 🤙. Also congrats on your new place man🎉 hopefully Big D will put one on his bench.
It's already one video in youtube from this amp... Look for it powerus 8000 Dyno

Excellent!... So much information.... I am loving this
Thought about getting a Sundown SFB amp on sale to power my new 15s, but haven't heard many good things about them so far. Might be trying one of these amps.
The SFB are pretty awful. Theae are in a whole different league.

The 2 thumbs down are EMF and his pre-orders
EMF have great amplifiers
@@Mr.NpK143 EMF amplifiers are teampie amplifiers from alibaba. He gets you to preorder to bankroll the orders and you wait like 6 months if your lucky for it to arrive. Might as well order from alibaba direct. He does not have a amp line . He puts his name on a cookie cutter amp and says it’s his. There is nothing wrong with this practice at all. I have nothing against it really lots of people do it but please don’t pretend it’s your tech. I don’t like his video model. Do I watch? Yes. Why? Because I have to be aware of all that’s out there good and bad. If you don’t believe me on his amps look it up. I’m not talking trash these are facts. He also talk quite a bit of trash on others. He can’t make a video on just his laurels. It’s always how everyone else is bad etc.
@@angelvip2474 I'm well aware if the preorders he has and the extended wait just like Collin with wolfram, but still the cookie cutters amp is a well built Korea board amplifier. And even in this video Sam mentioned 80hz on these Brazilian boards aren't where we are here in the states for subs. He stated the significant difference in sound quality when on subs. Even if you barely touch the lpf he suggests you'll be at 150hz which is not where subs want to be. Is this a great amp? Yes! To ridicule a product is one thing, but the company is another. I agree with you mostly, but this amp doesn't hold a candle next to a Korean in it's class
@@Mr.NpK143 it prob doesn't hold a candle. Either way. I don't deal with cookie cutter brands at my shop. Again I watch everything to see what's out there. My customers are more in line with SQ. Spl is an extremely small segment if any at my shop. We deal more with Mosconi Focal JL and such. But again I like to see what's out there. Market is too flooded with these amps. One hour POWERUS commercial, no big deal it does look like a very well built amp.
Would be a commercial if they paid me to make this and reviewed it before I posted. I made this completely off my own back since we have a powerus distro in the UK and I wanted to see what they were like. If they were terrible, trust that I wouldn't have held back one bit, like with the Phoenix gold video. I only care for giving people information about the circuit. you mentioned how the components in the Taramps arent secured as well as they should be or could be. if i wanted to take some preventative steps to secure them more tightly and keep it from being an issue in the future, what sort of adhesive would you recomend i use to better secure them? just regular hot glue from a glue gun, e6000, CA? thank you for all of the great info
I wouldn't use hot glue because it would become soft again when the amp warms up from use. I would use a good quality silicone that you can get at any hardware store
Which one you should prefer. Soundigital or powerus???
powerus by far

@@barevids you're the man brother thank you for a very fast response! 👍
@@barevids run that by me one more time. I don’t understand what you mean? Brazilians are more solid because of it? Help
@@barevids ah shit, are they really that bad? I currently have 2 sundown ev12s at 500w rms, wanted something bigger and louder but on a tight budget.

When r you coming to Barbados?
Sam can I run lpf from amp 60 hz and deck lpf same 60 hz frequency genius 8k amp.
Sam, is there a way to bypass the crossovers? I do not need any of the crossovers, I would want to use my active crossovers. Is it even worth doing? I dont want the subsonic affecting my low end. I'm thinking short the hp pot?
No the pot isn't doing the crossing. If you leave it at zero it won't affect your musical freqs.
Or is it the same?
At 4ohm the amp will only be around 800wrms. Headroom is key for a dynamic experience. Run 1ohm amp keep it sensible.
It was in the dyno at 1,500 at 4 ohms. I was really asking for the health of the amp
Since they’re not overbuilt in the output section
The amps reliability issues aren't related to the load attached. These things are going pop just idling or on power up even with higher loads connected. Choose 1 ohm and enjoy while it lasts.

Why don't more manufacturers use the planar transformers in the power supply section?

Nope. None of those things will let it do more power. You'd need new transformers to increase rail voltage.
That's why there are spaces on the board.
amazing tks
