I spoke to a psychologist who was a counsellor and I was totally surprised when she did not know that in case of child abuse the number of affected boys is greater than girls. She did a small googling and then came back surprised. This is the kind of awareness that we have even with people who are educated in that particular field.

@@karthikr177 By the way, even I am surprised. I didn't get the numbers until I saw the CHILD* part. Maybe it is so because ONE - our society don't view it as sexual harassment in case of boys which gives confidence to assaulters. SECOND - guys, when adults can take care of abusers so they target children that's why in case of girls most victims are adults & in the cases of guys most victims are children. Unfortunately I was also a victim of this (in childhood) & not once. I hate my memory, inability to do something more than those people 😔

I am sorry you went through such hell. But don’t let one or few women change your opinion. Please hear me out. When you are hurt and angry, especially when you have been taken advantage of and then also been shamed, it’s really really difficult to behave in mature and wise way, I accept. But if you give in , you are giving your tormentor absolute power over yourself not just when you are in the relationship but also after you have left her. Giving someone so much power, even when they are no longer in our lives is a huge harm we are doing to ourselves.
As someone who has been in a similar situation, I can choose to hate all men and blame them for everything. But that’s wrong on my part. Because if I choose to hate and say all men are like that, then I am just walking into the trap set by the perpetrator. Because people who are that sadistic, want you to be depressed for “committing the huge crime of leaving them”. That’s how they see it.
Lastly, don’t let media affect your opinion, they will make whatever is in trend. You don’t have to take my word for it. Take any top actor, watch any of his latest movie and there will be this huge message on feminism, now go back to the early 2000s, 90s or earlier, the same actor will shame a women for wearing jeans or some have worse dialogue of a woman’s purpose, that I can’t even type. Today the same hypocrite yaps about feminism. I am not just saying male actors, some female actors, directors and magazine editors and a very famous female columnist.
The point is you will always come across hypocrites in your life, irrespective of gender, age, social or economic status. Please don’t give them even more power over you by falling victim to the mindset they want you to believe you. That’s the cruel mind control games they play. Hopefully you heal soon. 🙏🙏🙏

I think we should start by stopping the stereotype of Mard ko dard nahin hota or telling boys not to cry. I have seen this is so common. Ironically it’s usually men who in are very sarcastic and kind of mean to young boys and tell them not to cry. Who gave anyone the right to tell anyone “you should not feel hurt”. Yes, we want people to be a little resilient. But there is an encouraging way to tell that. Shaming someone will only stop them from sharing their pain, which is even more cruel.

Honestly, as a girl myself, some females actually doesn’t even wanna consider the fact that maybe males are also suffering. They’re just like “we’ve more pressure than boys”, “boys always get what they want”, “boys life is so simple” BUT it’s not always like this. Every human faces difficulty in their life. Nobody have a ‘perfect’ life. Nothing is perfect. Not girls life, nor boys life. Whenever we speak about ‘gender equality’ we should actually be equal to opposite gender also. That’s what gender equality means. Yes, there’re men who rape girls, and they should receive punishment, but let’s face it, even some men are victims of rape, sexual abuse and sometimes even gets framed by girls when actually they haven’t even raped them. There’s this thing I noticed that like “if boys are raping us then we’ll also rape them” and that’s entirely foolish and absurd. Like, if you’re really angry about boys raping girls then first of all, stop commenting about their clothes and stand with them against those rapists. And boys, please stop believing this “boys should cry” and “mard ko dard nahi hota” shits. Crying doesn’t make you weak. If there’re people who taunts you about it then ignore them, or simply just tell them to ‘fck off and mind your own business’😅, and its high time you start sharing your stories, if you have one , and make the world aware of those boys who’re suffering. They deserve justice and they SHOULD get it.

Alone and unable to argue, had to get out of there and reach home safe, had no other choice. This happened yesterday in Vijayanagar, Bangalore. Forget walking on street or travelling in public transport. People aren't safe travelling on their own transport.
I'm mentally disturbed thinking why me. I lost my dad and have tons of responsibilities and still such shit happens to people like me😔

Have suffered in school and couldn't come out of it for a long time. But now I know it wasn't my mistake. No one is going to kill me like my teacher said. School are the place where parents send their child to be educated but when you get raped in school and you tell your teacher something wrong had happened to you and then they say "Kisiko mat batana. Apne parents ko bhi mat batana they will kill you." And then you start feeling that you were wrong. It was your mistake. I am 30 now and finally I accepted that something wrong happened to me in the school when I was in 3rd and I didn't do anything wrong but I was the victim there. I was the one who was raped. And coz of that I went into a caccoon and finally I realised that it's time to come out and be strong and stand for myself.
Please teach your kids about good and bad touch. Tell them to share everything that happens in the school. Be a friend to them and understand them.

Sexual violence against men in India is a subject that is often overlooked, despite its existence. Though rape laws in India are primarily framed around male perpetrators and female victims, incidents of men being sexually assaulted and raped by women do occur. The lack of legal recognition, societal stigma, and cultural expectations discourage male survivors from reporting their experiences or seeking help.
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for India’s sexual assault laws to become gender-neutral, which would allow men to seek justice more effectively.
In India, very few support systems for male survivors of sexual violence or rape. However, some men’s rights groups like Men welfare trust, Vaastav, Daaman NGO and others with mental health professionals have started addressing this gap, although progress is slow.

They were too young to exactly guess the ages of the women but they said that the first one called her didi and the second one called her aunty (his mom's friend and neighbour). They stayed around them and were known to them for years and the parents trusted them. These guys never look it as abuse because boys are told by older friends and cousins that they are supposed to enjoy it, although they were very uncomfortable and they said it's very common in small towns and villages. No one checks a woman with kids.

17 years old being raped comes under the POCSO act. If you want to talk about rape against men, talk about rape against men and not boys. Rape against men by men is not uncommon but is also not neglected. BNS does not include section 377 and that needs to be changed and will be changed soon as Supreme court is now involved.
The speaker is trying to justify that rape of men by women is not rare, which I believe is not true. For women to rape men, it has to be a gangrape. Let's be realistic here.
How many cases of males above 18 years old getting raped by women has the speaker known about? How many cases of males above 18 years old have been raped by other men? The latter is obviously more.
Reading the title, I thought this must be something different, but it ended up being a disappointing vague talk show.

    Ranveer I don't agree with what you both made out to be. Let me burst some of your myths;
    1) You are wrongly assuming that when a man is raped by a woman, always penetration takes place. Not necessarily. Many rapes fail in both sexes. Either due to lack of erection when a man is being raped or due to premature ejaculation even before penetration, and also for lack of erection when a woman is being raped.
    2) You are wrongly assuming that men cannot be raped because erection is possible only when the man is also interested. Not necessarily. Men do get erections in the wrong place for the wrong reasons even when consciously they don't want it. The phenomenon of erection is very different from what is commonly thought out to be. You need to acknowledge the fact that lots of men fail to get erections when they consciously want one, very badly.
Sorry this is not the place to elaborate much on this ...

Lesbian relationships being sexualized as a "show" for the straight male gaze; male rape victims being underestimated and dismissed; common sense failing at grasping the psychological and relational nuances of abusive relationships; male rape victims being unable to acknowledge their own trauma : all these problems we have also in Europe.
I would also add one thing I expected her to tackle on the "how can a man be raped" point: she correctly debunks the false idea that erection necessarily equals consent, but I would add that also unwanted kisses, intimate touches, attentions or sexual threats are rape (and crimes) even without full intercourse. It's like this for women, why would it be different for men?

Maybe it’s because of our social evolution aswell, what I think is in earlier days it was pretty common for kings to marry multiple princesses the reason was territorial capitalisation , so there were many instances where when the king used to go out for wars, it was a tradition for kings all wives to take care of each other, mentally even sexually aswell it’s sakhi savitri concept, but vice versa wasn’t a thing where queen married multiple kings and they took care of each other when she went to war

I don't read newspapers much. Still I have read two instances of men being r@ped by women. Both happened in the state of keralam.

Brother there was a case in Indore but because there is no law in India for men so police reject these types of cases. We haven't seen venus but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist

If men and women are both equal then why there is different laws. All the laws have to be gender neutral.

I would urge everyone to watch Gaurav Sharma's recent podcast on rape of men happening in india. We only talk about female rape quite often but we tend to forget about the rape of a man happening in india.Fact of the matter is laws of India is biased towards the females no doubt about that and women rapists is exploiting the faultlines of laws.Thank you for highlighting this serious issue and there has to be talks about the rape happening to men also👀🤔🙏

I dont know whether the story of 17 year old can be called rape. It can be called sexual abuse. Rape is something different

In late 70s or early 80 there was a rape case by four college girls and the poor boy around 12 or 14 got killed. He went to the girls hostel to give milk. That happened in Nina's college (private college) that was there in Kottayam district of Kerala state. I think after that incident that college got closed.

Its pain me to see when a man start being vocal about the harrasm€nt he face the who start laughing and making fun of him is the men themselves its soo heartbreaking to see even our govt. And court denied that man can be r@ped too its really heartbreaking and painful i can't even imagine the pain those men have to face face just because they are men

His questioned don't seem will thought out and I don't think she appears to express herself fully.

In the past in any civilization or kings rule these things happened ? how it was contained / ruled? If new challenge then deal scientifically rather than criticizing/laughing. need laws on emergency basis and international laws too.
