My husband and I did a section of the LOOP from KENTUCKY to Mobile. We have a Sailboat so that portion took 6 weeks but we made lots of new friends on that trip..Very memorable. .Good Luck and have Fun..
I can not imagine the pride you had as a family together watching dolphins jumping your wake as you set out on your new adventures. You set a goal and are living that dream.
Loved this episode and all the excitement from the crew of Seashine! Great think the ship kitties have stolen my heart! Can’t wait to see more episodes!
This my first visit to your channel and I got to say, it was awesome! I am looking forward to watching Episode 2. Fair winds and following seas on your journey!
@@TheBoomershines I'm headed to the Rendezvous tomorrow... planning to crew for some folks this year to learn about boating... buy the boat next year... and officially start the loop in the winter/spring of 2026..... God willing and the creek don't rise!
@@TheBoomershines Since you left out of Stuart and did a fair number of upgrades, did you have anything done by Burr? We have a west-coast based 1997 Fleming 55 and Burr is well known and respected in the Fleming world.
We know of Burr and they have an amazing reputation in the Fleming world. We did not use them for anything but certainly would have loved too if we had a Fleming. Maybe one day 😉
You probably already know this. But there's no better wat to bond with children than on a boat for an extended period time. We did 3-day weekends and two-week vacations it was great. Wish we had internet back in the 80's. I would have loved to do the great loop with them.
It is a wonderful way to bond and we are truly grateful for the time together on the boat with our kiddos. The internet makes it doable from both a work and school perspective. We couldn't have done our adventure without it. Thanks for watching and for this sweet comment!
So thrilled to finally get started with you on this great journey, even if you’ve been finished with it for quite a while. It’ll be new to all of us, and I’m sure the wait will have been well worth it. (I’m wondering if, in addition to retrieving Rex’s flip flops, you used the net to pick up a couple of pieces of trash from the water every day …??😂😊)
Thank you for the kind comment and your patience:). We definitely used the net to pick up trash and other things that fell in the drink. But thankfully we never had to use it to rescue a ship kitty 🐱 😅🤣
It's been a couple of years since I saw your searching for a boat videos. Great to see you starting the trip. When you get to Lake St Clair in the Great Lakes, try and make your way to the north end of the lake, even if just in the North Channel and Sni Bora. The water is crystal clear and blue or blue green up at that end. I've got a few videos of it on my channel. If you just take and stick to the South Channel, it's not as pretty.. water is brownish and cloudy until your in the St Clair River (then it's "pretty" again) Anyway.. I look forward to watching the trip! Thanks for sharing! If I see you out there, I'll give you a wave!
Ahoy @singlespeed427! We actually completed the loop last year but are just now having time to edit our adventure. I just looked up Lake St Clair because I am unfamiliar. Looks like we missed it by taking the Trent. But WOW! The Great Lakes are INCREDIBLE!!! Can't wait to get to that section of our video editing. Thanks for following along on our crazy advenure.
You have created a Time Machine with the way you're transporting us back as you start the loop. I remember following along on Instagram with all the story updates and now we get to see a lot more detail. It makes me want to go out today and buy a boat to start the loop. If only I could convince my wife lol...
@Navy1977 I can understand that but I'd suggest giving them a few more uploads before deciding. I think you will enjoy it especially if you enjoy nautical content. They are a fun family that meets all sorts of challenges as they make their way around the Great American Loop.
Sorry to see you go @navy1977 but totally understand. And not to burst your bubble - but very few boating channels are actually real time. Most all are delayed a bit both out of practicality (it’s hard to boat and edit) and out out of safety. We aren’t trying to be live tv - just share our loop adventure and misadventures with those who are interested and care to come along with us. ☺️
Thanks Rob! We hope you will be amused and entertained - and maybe we can even convince your wife that she is up for the adventure 🤞. And thanks for defending us below. Really appreciate it!!!
@@TheBoomershines the wife and I purchased a 2004 C-Dory 22 late last year. We are gonna do the loop one year when the time is right. Glad to be here. Let's go Captain and God bless ya'll. 🙏
Love Boomershine Day 🤣. I think the only thing we overpacked were kid toys. They packed a ton and never really played with them. Those are the only things we should have left at home - but they made them feel at home so I guess there is merit in just that. GREAT question. Got any others?

If there was ever a good advertisement for doing the Loop, this is it. I am SO excited to start my own Loop adventure!
Our first day was REALLY great. Other days weren't so great. Hopefully, our future episodes don't scare you off LOL. When are you starting your loop?

THAT is an amazing compliment! Thank you! Glad to have you aboard! ⚓️Mark
Thank you for this sweet comment and for the sub. We are trying to do a different type of loop Vlog. Glad you like it. Welcome aboard!
