Government House Tasmania | Historic Buildings Australia

Governmrnt House Tasmania is the official residence of Governor of Tasmania and located in the Queens Domain, near the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. This is one of the largest buildings in Australia, that spans from early Victorian era, with Neo-Gothic style.
Construction of this building was started in 1855 and completed in 1857. This was mainly constructed using sandstone. Slate for the roof was imported from wales while furniture was imported from London.
The House has 73 rooms . The finest rooms are the Main Hall, the Dining Room, the Drawing Room, the French Room, the Ballroom, and the Conservatory.
The house is situated on 15 hectares of land. There is a beautiful garden with ponds, paddocks, cottages, stables and various other buildings.
