After seeing the overwhelming positive response from the anime, a second season was greenlit the following year (2014) yet wouldnt begin production until almost 3 years later. Not only because they were allowing the manga to continue to get farther ahead of the manga, but also because Wit already had their schedule stocked for the next few years (Rolling Girls, Seraph of the End, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, along with some recap films of AoT)

This wasn’t filler. The creator of the manga works very close with the anime production and views the manga as nothing more that a beta test and sees the anime as the full release.

I’m pretty sure that the berserk mode happened in the anime and not the manga because the anime and manga(although identical) are different timelines. Just like how Eren doesn’t say “ill kill you all” in the manga with his eyes open, but he does say it with his eyes open in the anime. Maybe berserk mode was considered filler back then but I think it is supposed to be cannon now at least because of different timelines, Isayama even confirms that school caste is a different timeline as well and is cannon. Plus berserk mode looks awesome as hell, would like to see the anime manga comparison of it tho.

He just kinda used his titan way too much in a very tense and power heavy situation so he overheated like a gaming pc running minecraft shaders.

As we know Ymir ( founding Titan ) use water ( possibly for cooling ) to make lost body parts of Titan shifter and Titans but as she need eren in future so in haste she don't used water and just used sand or whatever material it was to bring eren Jaeger's body part back
It’s non canon but if I had to give an explanation it would be similar to how the colossal titan increases its metabolism burning muscle to make heat. But wrens skin keeps it in making him light on fire.
