This setup was kind of thrown-together. I'll probably repeat it different lighing/positioning. As a side note: to upgrade, go to the command prompt and use "sudo apk update" "sudo apk upgrade". 0:00 - PinePhone v1.2b 0:18 - Convergence package 1:18 - Extending the desktop 2:47 - Upcoming work
IFKR! We really need to see more competition in the smartphone world. I totally miss the old days when we have Windows Phone, BlackBerry OS, and Ubuntu Touch.
@@unboxing_tomorrow Yes please! Also maybe an overall video of all the OS's you've tried on different devices and the success/failures. Might also be time to fix the buymeacoffee link. :)
+1 sub for making continuing pinephone content, most youtubers just do an unboxing and first look and don't really update past that. With postmarketos, how has your experience been with basic phone reliability, just receiving texts (sms and mms), and calls? I think if those are good it might be good enough for me to take the plunge and try getting one and daily driving.
Thanks for the encouragement! I think the call quality is just as good as my Samsung Galaxy A13. The earpiece audio is clear enough. The speaker audio can get a little distorted near max volume, but the Samsung has the same issue. Text-only SMS and MMS work, but I am having trouble getting SMS attachments delivered. * Calls (phone app) version is currently 43.3 * Chats (text app) version is currently 0.7.0
Please do more desktop tests with other distros for pinephone. Specially actually usage like libreoffice, markdown editors etc. Love you videos on pinephone ❤

We definitely need something like this. It really is a breath of fresh air in the current Android-iOS duopoly.
Thank you for the feedback! Pine phone and possibly other phone projects will be a big focus for me in 2024.

Absolutely fantastic, my friend! Nice work. Excellent presentation.
Appreciate the demo of postmarketos on the pinephone convergence package. Hoping for more videos on this. :)
Thanks! I've been taking a break from blogging, but I don't know. Maybe it's time for PinePhone 1 Year Later video.

Well it a lot work for dev to do those features and as well other dev to do some feedback. It a lot of coding to test.
That's true. I'd like to do a video at some point about the behind-the-scenes dev work if I can find a few people.
