For those interested, we have also made a video of an Axopar 28 Open equipped with Joystick Piloting (2 x 200 HP, v6), th-cam.com/video/7P2VwtE92m8/w-d-xo.html

A great video! Much better than MBY in the UK!

Thank you, please follow our channel, I plan to do videos on the Axopar 28 with a new Mercury V8, a 24 Open and Hardtop, and a 37 Cabin with twin V8´s and joystick piloting, somewhere between early spring and june.
      Best regards,

Thank you for this thorough and very useful review! Are you able to say something about the Esthec deck option? I have heard from others that it is hard to keep clean. How is it to clean for shoe marks, fish blood or for instance soy sauce? Is it possible to use a high-pressure washer when cleaning it?

Hi Knut, thank you for your remarks. Most people of really happy with the Esthec option. The light grey does show shoe marks easily but I always suggest using boat shoes with white soles. I do not have experience with fish blood but have had some heavy dirt on it. It can be cleaned properly, I don´t see a big deal there. It is an arrificial material which does not absorp stains is my experience so I would not be all too worried.
If you still are: you could consider ordering one without the esthec and fitting it later and try the grp/non skid deck first.
I hope my comment helps, best regards,
      Bart Kempers

I have seen the video you mentioned, however my German isn’t good enough to get all the details since he doesn’t do his comments in English.😳

Hey Bart! Awesome videos. I am in Florida in the US and we are starting to see a few more Axopar's here. I am interested in the 28 Cabin, but
want to know about the sliding top over cabin.. Is that gonna keep water out if sitting at anchor for a long weekend and it rains? How tight is
it? We want to stay overnight out on the island and want a safe, dry place to be if it does rain. Thanks for any info!

Hello Ryan, thank you for your compliment and sorry for the late reply.
About the roof: if you use the extra (supplied) cover, it is waterproof in my experience, you can certainly stay on board in less good and even worse weather conditions without getting wet. I really should not worry about this, if have had no complaints from our customers sofar.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to decide what to buy within the next year or so. I have 3 choices, axopar 28 ac, nimbus w9, flipper 880 st. I would prefer a single outboard engine. So far that leaves out the 880 st as it doesn’t perform well with a single so I guess the choice is between w9 or the 28ac.

I understand. Have you seen the videos of Boote Polch? They are a dealer for Nimbus and Axopar, I seem to remember that they made a comparison between these two boats at the Düsseldorf boatshow, you may want to check that. Good luck anyway!

XO 270 is made by the same guys that make Axopar but their boats are a bit more stylish.

Erik, I had zero'd in on the same two choices. For us (South Florida in the States) one big difference is the Axo 28's ability to be operated while air conditioned. Another is the Axo's easier ability to be rigged up for departure more easily. The W9's "skirt" or "clears" to protect its cockpit bits seems like more of a hassle.

I noticed the roof canvas wasn’t snugged, was that because you hadn’t locked it fully forwards? Be a shame to waste buying a heater and having all the heat disappear out the gap in the roof cover.

Hello Erik, it don't remember but that may very well be. It was a beautiful sunny day, not cold so we did not need the heating. I have been using an Axopar 28 in very cold (freezing) conditions with strong wind but had not problems whatsoever making the cabin comfortable by using the heating.

      Dear Alessandro,
Yes, a heating unit is available as an option from Axopar. We as a dealer for the Netherlands & Belgium have never sold a 28 cabin without one.
Airconditioning in our climate is not really necessary and not available from Axopar. I know there are dealers who have experience with this, please check with your local dealer.
      Best regards,
      Bart Kempers

Would have been a great video if the camera-man actually filmed the features you talked about instead of your face and the backdrop....

Hi Markus, thank you for your comment. I fully understand what you mean. It is not always easy to find the right camera. A bigger angle works better but is sometimes to difficult to carry and or to connect the audio to. But keep please following our channel, we will be making more videos. I hoped to make one of my own 28 Cabin 2020 MY but the weather suddenly changed so we will try later this week.
      Best regards from The Netherlands!
