I never cried while watching Bojack horseman but... This song.. when i came back to listen to it, I just... Idk why tears started falling down from my face :(
For me it was when they used “Stars” by Nina Simone at the end of season 3. The song paired with the imagery, and the fucking bite of that end, and the lyrics of the song…. It makes me cry every time I hear it, especially that climax. It was also one of the stronger moments that made me realize how special it was that a show could do that to me as an adult.
A gorgeous cover of A Horse With No Name. Man, these comments and Bojack quotes have made my eyes rain. My son was really into Bojack. I watched a bit of it with him and enjoyed it, but now I wish I'd watched more with him and had got into it like he had. After reading these comments I've decided I need to watch it all as a tribute to my son. With a box of tissues of course...
“Life is a never ending show, old sport, except the minor detail that it ends... The over cheer lasts a lifetime but the show is short here with all you family and friends. Second episode and i had to stop watching to think about my life... you know.. the existencial void that Bojack leaves, it doesn´t fill up easily. Damn, probably my favourite show
The problem is, the show becomes less funny over time. Not worse, it just... Gets more real. And I'm not even mad at the way it makes you see yourself in Bojack.
Filip Stężewski it's definitely becoming more dramatic...maybe the writers didn't originally realize how willing people are to relate to him because it's a weird cartoon horse lol. Bojack definitely helps me deal when I'm lonely
I can't listen to this whole song. It hurts my heart. This was a wonderful season of Bojack, probably my favorite so far...and this song really helped with that.
All the comments about Bojack, but can we take a moment to celebrate just how wonderful Michelle Branch’s cover is? I can’t listen to the original anymore.
It's that very show that has brought all of us to this wonderful cover of a banger. I'm sure the comments are not undermining this amazing artist. I certainly love this a lot more than the original as well.
Bojack horseman is a show I watch to calm down and take a step back from life. It also makes me questions a lot of what life is and mysterious things that happen all the time. It also helps me reflect on my actions and what being good to others can do for you
I was emotional watching this episode for the first time as this song played. Like, finally, we're seeing where Bojack has been all this time. The music just set the tone so well.
“I have nothing to show for the life that I’ve lived, and I have nobody in my life who’s better off for having known me.” “That isn’t true.” “Isn’t it, though?”
I've heard many covers of this song and I would always fall back to Americas original, But then I heard this song come on during the show and it absolutely floored me. It captures the essence of the songs meaning. Deserts are always viewed as being endless and without meaning, but to another it is a way of finding peace, solitude, Tranquility. It carries a slow Harmony that allows you to meditate on your thoughts.
Not to mention the fact that bojack, throughout the episode, denies his identity, thus denying his name. So, for a period of time through the episode, he really was a horse with no name.
You can generally say that Sarah Lynn sings it. "After 9 Days (Seasons) I let the horse run free (from show biz, since it ended) and the desert had turned into sea (isolation turned to depression)"

Michelle Branch did a really nice cover of it. Brought a fresh approach to it. This has a somewhat lonely, sad quality to it. Probably because I watched the episode in which the song is used.
Not only is this the best song in the show but it’s amazing overall. The tone matches the lyrics even moreso than the original (to me anyway) and the vocals are so smooth and sad. Perfect for this show and perfect for when you have those same days. In fact… I actually listened to this song on my drive back home from a weekend in Palm Springs, in my Mustang (pony) 😊. I pulled over to take a picture of the sunset. The year after this season came out nonetheless. That will forever be a favorite memory. 🌄 tied to what’s now a sad weekend 💔

Michelles cover of this is gargantuan when it comes to how emotive it is compared to the original for both the vocals & that guitar breakdown in between the 2nd & 3rd verses. this is as grungey as it gets while still being soft
That part was the first time Bojack made me break down. Most hard-hitting parts made me just shocked and silent, but ready to watch more, but that? I cried the rest of the episode, and I took a day's break. That messed me up.
I had to stop watching because it brought back too many traumatic memories but I keep getting this stuff in my recommended and this show is so good I keep coming back to this content 😢💔🐴
@@l0wgrade377 To each their own. I also prefer the cover. The emotion Michelle Branch brings to the song, the depth and the sadness gives it a realness, a rawness that the original never had, at least to me. It suits the melancholy that the actual desert place has as well. It's always been a place that seems so sad and lifeless but at the same time it can set you free in a way that no other place can. You can remember who you really are and who you were and who you want to become BECAUSE of the emptiness and the solitude and tranquility. Who are you to judge those feelings that this song invokes in a person?
You know at the beginning of the show I hated Bojack's mom, simply because we where given little context as to why she treated him so poorly other than she was just plain mean....but jesus after watching what happened in her childhood I can understand why she is the way she is and honestly, I feel so bad for her. And although she turned out to be a horrible mother....I can't say I still hate her.
The Archivalist That's one of the reasons about why I like the show, because the characters are like us, real people in real life, no one is either the good or the bad guy, everyone is a human being Who has a reason for his /her behaviour, attitude, desicions and personality. I also have had my family issues, specially with my mother who has also her flaws and she has made me suffer, affected my self-steem and gave me many insecurities since childhood, and of course she has blamed me for her problems and compared me With my father. And even though I understand that her life wasn't happy,
The Archivalist one of the newer episodes was just a eulogy that Bojack gave to his mom and it was a surprisingly beautiful episode. No flashbacks, no cut aways, no side stories... just bojack talking for 20 mins. By far one of my favorite episodes to date.

I keep hope that life will stop sucking. For one biref moment it did not suck as bad. once the song was over well back to life. "I don't know how to be Dianne, Doesn't get better and it doesn't get eassier. I can't keep lying to myself saying that I am going to change. I am poison, I come from poison. I have poison inside of me and I destroy everything I touch. That's my legacy. I have nothing to show for the life that I've lived and I have nobody in my life whose better of for having to know me." BJ Horseman
You know, not many covers I’ve heard captured the feelings I’ve felt listening to the original. Gears 4 and Darksiders 3 have truly proved me wrong. Amazing covers.
For a second there, I thought that Kirsten Schaal had a beautiful singing voice... that Sarah Lynn was singing her last song to Bojack. Michelle is fantastic.
I had no idea that Michelle Branch was the one performing the cover! She was one of my favorite singers when she first hit the charts. I still don't get why she never achieved the heights of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. Michelle's an amazing singer, and I'm glad she covered this. :)
Bojack horseman me trouxe aqui, 1 episódio da 4° temporada. Sinceramente bojack é uma série que te leva a enxergar diferente, de uma forma mais simples sem ser simplória, mas definitivamente é algo que me trouxe muita novidade, um cavalo com falhas ou erros humanos.
I just remembered that Bojack's character in Horsin' Around also had no name. He was just The Horse.
Andrew Richardson every song, and I repeat, every song in Bojack Horseman has some meaning to the show. To almost every character.

A Horse with No Name
America
Letras
On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la
After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead
You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la
After nine days I let the horse run free
'Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
there was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love
You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la
Thanks. I hope you have a great day. We have to try to be our best.
Wow! me encanto la adaptación de esta canción al show BoJack Horseman. Amazing cover! always loved that song.
Michelles cover of this is gargantuan when it comes to how emotive it is compared to the original for both the vocals & that guitar breakdown in between the 2nd & 3rd verses. this is as grungey as it gets while still being soft
My alarm tune for a good year or two! Hands down one of the best covers to a song ever.
And also one of the best perks Bojack provided.
You're... in Michigan.
Fun fact, his hypothetical daughter Harper from season one was named after the town of the summer home.
Can you taste the ice cream, Mom?
"People used to vacation here before the popularization of air travel to more exciting places!"
That part was the first time Bojack made me break down. Most hard-hitting parts made me just shocked and silent, but ready to watch more, but that? I cried the rest of the episode, and I took a day's break. That messed me up.
Harper's Landing...
I had to stop watching because it brought back too many traumatic memories but I keep getting this stuff in my recommended and this show is so good I keep coming back to this content 😢💔🐴
This version is more emotional than the original
That's the point
Ahh so you have bad taste lmao original way better
@@l0wgrade377 fuck off boomer, he didin't even say it was better.
@@kwabecikuwu9161 called em out
@@l0wgrade377 To each their own.
The Archivalist Why, I have half a mind...
And even though I understand that her life wasn't happy,
You don't have to hate her, as long as you still don't forgive her.
I dont feel sorry for her tho, I can feel empty, but never sorry, just like BoJack she is result of the decisions she made in the past good and bad.
The Archivalist one of the newer episodes was just a eulogy that Bojack gave to his mom and it was a surprisingly beautiful episode. No flashbacks, no cut aways, no side stories... just bojack talking for 20 mins. By far one of my favorite episodes to date.

"Why, I have Half a mind..."
Any new music from Michelle is always sooooo good ^_*
Leigh Turner listen to her new album!!!
#hopelessromantic
Another reason I'm always hyped for a new season of Bojack is being introduced to more cool underrated music.
This cover sounds awesome AF
A cover that deserves a thumbs up from the creators in my opinion
why i have half a mind to like this song
Too soon
That's too much, man
Absolutely amazing rendition of an already awesome song. Mad props to Michelle Branch for doing it justice!!
The original is a brilliant song. And I have got to say, this is a pretty good cover.
amazing version ...my favourite by far !!!!!!!!!
This and downing a bud light really helps when you had a bad week!
The song is so beautiful...
It's ideal to forget everything
For a second there, I thought that Kirsten Schaal had a beautiful singing voice... that Sarah Lynn was singing her last song to Bojack.
Michelle is fantastic.
simply amazing
So good to hear you still making music
What a beautiful cover
Thank you for your beautiful music Michelle. Any chance of you coming to Australia?
Best cover ever, I cant stop listening
Classic!
that voice is sooo sweet
That's too much, man!
Beautiful lovely song&music
te amo Michelle
I love this version
STOP FIXING MY DOOR
Bojack brought me here... Good Cover Michelle!
I had no idea that Michelle Branch was the one performing the cover! She was one of my favorite singers when she first hit the charts. I still don't get why she never achieved the heights of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. Michelle's an amazing singer, and I'm glad she covered this. :)
Michelle tried to release a solo album after The Wreckers but her record label kept her on ice forever
What an awesome show and amazing cover song, I love it.
Where there’s strife there’s conquest
Where there’s war there’s ruin
Where there’s fury there’s rampage
Where there’s death there’s despair
Nicholas Ryson yeah
it so beautiful and the scene in bojack was perfect for it...
"Someday you'll look back and this will all be a pleasant memory." :)
Beautiful and dynamic. I ❤ it!!
Bojack horseman me trouxe aqui, 1 episódio da 4° temporada. Sinceramente bojack é uma série que te leva a enxergar diferente, de uma forma mais simples sem ser simplória, mas definitivamente é algo que me trouxe muita novidade, um cavalo com falhas ou erros humanos.
