I just realised that David may have had a double intention with handing out the chocolate. Not only was he trying to tempt Geraldine, but it was probably also part of his own resolution to be more friendly!
So sad to hear about Gary Waldhorn RIP ❤️
The best part of this episode was Hugo trying to give up impure thoughts.
Notice how he didn't seem to have any when Geraldine mentioned romantic films!
I used to love the way Frank always said "Oh I say!!" Lol
My favourite thing about BritBox is that after years of the public paying for these shows, we get to pay again to watch them a second time round!

I can't remember either. You could never begin to guess what Mrs. cropley's put in her food!!!
We never found out but she said not and she would always say what rather odd concoction she had cooked up such as anchovie and peanut butter sandwiches
Probably not as (just in case you don't remember) the joke was that she had to 'give up cooking garbage' as Owen put it and they all seemed to be managing fine with lent except for Geraldine 😂

It's a shame they killed off Liz Smith's character, since I think she could have gone further than she did in the show and there was a lot of potential in Mrs Cropley.

@@smellincoffee she didn't die until 2016. She went on to be absolutely brilliant in the Royle Family for one thing. I was thinking just yesterday that they shouldn't have killed her off so soon. She could have poisoned them on so many more occasions 😂
@@loubyloulou I recently saw a stage production of this and she didn't die in that - like everyone else, she reverted to her vice after Lent

Vicar of Dibley was highbrow comedy, Father Ted was lowbrow comedy.
I've tried clips on TH-cam but never can see why it was so popular. Some good cast members but the script doesn't seem that imaginative.
Then again Last Of The Summer Wine ran for years so there's a market for it out there.
