Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Stepwells have such an interesting history in India and many are very beautiful. Thank you for the introduction.
Yeah I like them, beautifully constructed
Particularly in Rajasthan cuz of shortage of water
Wearing Blue 🔵 T-shirt in Blue city 😊
I figured it was the least I could do.

So great to watch warm India from cold Europe, thanks for the interesting video!
Jodhpur is now 13°c. North India can get colder in winter.
@@arjunraj823 here is snowing and -2C, still better in India:)
Another inspiring video. I just got back yesterday from 3.5 week Indian holiday and of course you were on my mind and part of the reason I felt I could go do it alone. Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Varanasi, and Kolkata. Three overnight 'Express' trains (second class AC) and many wonderful encounters and sites. The lemon, ginger, honey tea at the Little Buddha Cafe in Rishikesh is the best - thanks for sharing your adventures!
Very cool, glad to hear it. 👍
Awesome, he has also inspired me to visit and I'm heading that way in a couple months.
@@Deadfoot-Dan I'm 62, did it alone, kind of winged it but also had definite places in mind. Safe travels. The people I met along the way were incredibly nice and at times even overly helpful. I'm ready to go back.
@@BlakeWomack-f5j I won't be roughing it too much, it's cheap enough over there to pay up for a little comfort, but I'm prepared if I have to, I even got rid of my memory foam mattress pad and am sleeping on a firm mattress to get acclimated (LOL)
OMG!!! Your India series has been so fun! Thank you! I will be in Rajasthan in January and you have given me a lot of ideas for my trip. I have been there before, but I have not been to the village of Khuri. I will let you know when I stay at the Arjun family guest house!!!
So beautiful the Fort, amazing 👏 the blue city 💙 is different but spectacular ✌️
i think I have noticed more Western tourists in Jodhpur than anywhere else so far on this leg of the India adventure, and I can see why, that fort is definitely worth the time to go there and visit.
I have recently discovered your channel. Really enjoying the content and reminiscing about our time in India 25 years ago.
they call Rani ki Vav Gujarat the best stepwell in India. but last year a famous youtuber from India has proved that it is an inverted temple. and it is an incredible work of architecture. experts say they have no clue how much deep inside the ground it goes. there have been 6 attempts of restoration of the Temple last of it in the 1980s. but more they tried more n more staffs they found so the finally gave it up. the most unique and amazing temple in the world. a must visit when in Gujarat.
My Spidey sense is sensing BS
Who was the youtuber again?
Ah found it, he is Praveen Mohan.
The video is ridiculous and the only explanation he offers is that it is a stepwise structure and hence inverted temple.
He Also claims that this structure was abandoned because of "negative energy" and he felt angry and sorrow while inside
LOL a youtuber proving bs. If the ASI with a team of expert archaeologists say that, then it would be plausible.
I booked tickets to Delhi this week, and have been deciding on a side trip. Your Hampi video had me seeking that, but Jodhpur is looking like the one. Thanks so much for all the great content and wonderful way you interact with these places Gabriel. I appreciate you man.
I saw your other comment, sounds like this is Denis? Thanks for the support.
An absolute pleasure mate🙏🏼
Beautiful and colorful Jodhpur. Great video once again Gabriel!
The sheer scale of that fort is just unreal
Morocco has it s blue city Chefchaouen loved it but nothing beats India and this place Jodhpur. Still keep looking at photos from 2019 thanking my lucky stars had luck to visit it. I felt strangely at home amongst Indian people although am not that outgoing.❤❤Gabe shows it all the best way.
When you come to Indore then definitely visit Maheshwar, Mandu, Ujjain, Rajwada Indore. Historical heritage will be seen. Best wishes
Those iron woks you thought were boats were used to boil oil in, they used to throw hot oil on any enemies trying to climb the fort walls. Cannons would not work if someone was too close. Most armies had expert climbers and boiling oil was used on them.
I see, that makes sense.
great culture and civilization, thank you for sharing...
Another Great Coverage of Classical Rajasthan. Great Stuff.
Been there myself & the views from the top as well as the premises are amazing! Tipping expected when posing with officials inside :-) Great retrospective of the area! Thank you for the memories!
India is such a vast country.
in online world which is full of r@cist comments to Indians, negative videos and one sided negative news about India your videos about India are like breath of fresh air.
I have seen the opposite nasty , negative Indian 'news' about the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! Not even true.
Also I have seen how Hindus, are racist
to Christians in India! Burning their homes and churches, persecuting
us Christians.
Please visit Chittorgarh fort & Kumbhalgarh fort( has second largest wall after Great Wall of China )
As well
They are also in Rajasthan
Chittorgarh = is one of the largest forts in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of Mewar and is located in the present-day city of Chittorgarh Rajasthan .
Aside from being really huge, chittorgarh is mostly meh
I visited Chittorgarh on my first trip in 1999, very interesting.
The next cold ones are on me. Thank you for carrying us in your backpack.🍻
Thanks a lot, appreciate it. Cheers. 👍🍺
Nice. Walking thru ancient streets of this place is much more interesting than seeing skyscrapers of India. Seen severa Indian step wells on YT, some have exquisitely carved sculptures, works of art.
Wonderful hidden gems to be in India.
Amazing fort
What’s amazing is that the men in the areas you’ve been lately dress European style but the women in each city kept their original beautiful dresses and head covers feels like you went back to Middle Ages
pants and jeans are indeed very comman in India now, the Saree is still widely used, the more rural you go, the more you see traditional dress.
Such a place rich in history! It's indeed the place where the blue houses are so vibrant, even the skies might get a bit jealous, and navigating the narrow streets feels like playing an urban game of Twister.
Lets help Gabriel get to 600k now. ❤
The history of the Blue houses traces all the way back to 1982, when Michael Jordan hit the game winning jumper for Dean Smith and the UNC Tarheels to win the NCAA basketball championship. They were painted red originally, but 1982 changed their fandom. There it is. History!
Tx Mr White for the Blue history 😊😅
BS - perhaps you need to know that history does not revolve around the 'good ole USA'.
I’m sorry Sir/Ms., but this history is 100% true. On the second floor of the first building Gabe enters, there is a statue of Sam Perkins and James Worthy. Please refrain from criticizing until you get your facts right. I recommend going to Jodhpour and see for your self. @@witlof5492
For Duke fan, see above😂
I get that you chose the font color for your thumbnail because this is the blue city, but I'm just going to suggest sticking with it. It pops and looks good brother. ✌️
Cool.
Agree
Drove from Jaisalmer to Pushkar stopping a few hours in Jodhpur once. It's a long drive..
Disappointed to hear that you're not going to Mumbai, but you should explore the Konkan region sometime. It has a vibe similar to Gokarna and Goa, which suits your style. Anyway, great video as always.
Cool! Indore! Can’t wait. I know nothing about it!
Nice video of massive fort in jodhpur. It would be interesting to view the city from surrounding cliffs
Hi Gabriel, amazing day of traveling around the city and Mehrangarh Fort which is like a city and intact just unreal rivals anything around Europe. The only place that is more impressive is the Forbidden City in China. The one thing that made an impression on me is the overhang on the fort which is part of the style of architecture in India called Eaves is the overhang at the lower edge of the roof very interesting and has a pronounced view.
Rajasthan is known for its forts , the Rajputs were known for their valour back in the day , Punjab area rose much later to the idea of thwarting invasions from rulers of kingdoms in Turkey, Iran & Afghanistan. However it is Maharaja Ranjeet Singh of Punjab who led several attacks & successful conquests of areas that now fall in modern day Afghanistan , Tibet , Pakistan & Aksai Chin
We watched kids jumping in ❤️ An amazing city, one of our favourite
Looks everyone more or less happy with their limited resources. Nice video tour. Thank you Gabriel!
25:15 They are Huge vessels (called "Kadhai") - Frying pans. Perhaps they were used to prepare hot water, or for cooking on special occasions, when food was to be prepared for hundreds of guests, Indore, another wonderful city of Kings
Itchyboots was there a few weeks ago!! Yes its awsome
Did she have her camera crew with her?
100th.....not just streets are noisy, even inside heritage venues......overwhelming, unlike western hush inside historical buildings.......fascinating fort, and built to last.....seems you and "itchy boots" are travelling similar paths!!......yes, the water storage most definitely Escher style.......
Made me nervous standing on edge of stepwell 😮
Wow its great
It's great n adorable 🙏🙏
Really enjoying the soundtrack music in this India series 🙂
Cool, glad to hear it.
Nice, Maheshwar is down that way, I guess you have been there before, really nice place, as is omkareshwar & Mandu
And Jaipur is the pink city 😊
Ohhhhhhhhhh yeah 🎉
Perfect Gabriel 😊❤
That pool looks stagnant with green algae to me, no-one in their right mind is going to dive into that Gabriel, great location though
Well actually they do. I've seen it, was there a few years ago.
@45:09 these are iron cooking utensils.
P. S. Loving your india series❤
can confirm-beautiful city. And almost or even same location roof top bar. ))
36:18 Wow Indore. No Indian youtuber ever so many places in Madhya Pradesh as you did/wll do.
Indore is famous for its Poha and Farsan
Wow. You don't haggle with rickshaw drivers? LoL. They certainly took you for a ride! Excellent video. You look like you're having a lot of fun.
200 rupees for each of the rickshaw rides is $2.40 USD, not exactly big money. 😛 I'm sure the metered rate would be less but if I'm happy with the price I go with it.
its like your in a high res video game doing a fly over
I like Morocco's Blue Coty more. The original Blue City: Chefchaouen
Good morning from Arizona 7 AM
Yo, I ate at that cafe. It was pretty decent.
I think the „boats“ were cooking pots.
Haven't you come across Itchy Boots somewhere there accidentally? )
At 25:10 of your video these are big vessel for cooking food for fort people on special occasions like marriages ...
Got it, good to know.
India world haritage. Place. .. Music. I feel music 😂😂😂. ❤❤❤ Toch
Could you tell us, your worst airport story? Mine was just in Frankfurt, on my way to Poland, which I turned around and went back to New York, due to a blizzard.
Are the fish in the well to keep the insects in check?
Thanks Gabriel, so grateful for your content! Safe travels 😊
No. These fish are there because of birds. Fish eggs sometimes stick to bird feather 🪶 when they bath in one water body to the other

I have had a tough time getting transportation from city to city in India, as a foreigner, and have not been able to purchase bus, train or air trips online. Is there a solution? Thanks!
Book flights on expedia, I've booked lots of flights on this trip, all very cheap. For train tickets go to a tourist office and have them book it for you, also long distance buses or else just go to the main bus station and catch the next bus.
Thank you, Gabriel! I am in India right now, trying to muddle my way through things. I appreciate your help, sir!
th-cam.com/video/wj-TU3uohfI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@@GabrielTravelerVideosin India the word tourist office means scam office. If you want to avoid being cheated buy your tickets directly from the train station and bus station and do not rely on scummy tourist office. The word tourist office is used everywhere and they all claim to be legit. Other option is find a reliable hotel and speak to a manager. He will try and assist you. Just be careful, unfortunately in India scammers prey on foreigners who are not aware.
There are travel booking shops in every city of India. Where you can book bus tickets. Remember next time when you visit.
Isn't one supposed to barter a bit in India? He always takes the first price given by rickshaw drivers.
You certainly can if you want, but the prices they've been quoting are very reasonable. I'm not that concerned about saving 50 cents or whatever.
Western view often tends to be extreme. Yes bargain, but apply some common sense. Ever hear abot being Penny wise, Pound foolish? I've foreigners trying to negotiate at restaurants. Even prices are written on the menu.
not barter, bargain or haggle. Barter is when you are exchanging an item for something else.
This "blue city" is mostly cream colored.....

oh my god, why would they be dead? They are just street dogs. They can gather their own food. India is not a food starved country.

Too cold now, after a month in the Himalayas I'm ready to be warm for a little while.
how are you finding the new laptop for editing? I don't see a link for it on your page. Did I just not see it?
I got another Lenovo Yoga, it's working out great, better than the last one I had.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos What model is it if you don't mind me asking. I am looking for one I can do some basic 4k editing on. I noticed there were a few different models of the yoga. Is it nice and smooth when rendering and scrubbing through the timeline and what not? cheers.
@@powshredder3716 I guess it's a Yoga 7 14IAL7. It renders my vids very quickly, in 5-10 minutes generally. But that's when I'm filming with my DJI. If I use my Gopro it takes a lot longer to process those files for some reason. I film at 1080p so not sure how well it would do with 4k.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Ok thanks for that. I didn't know you only shot in 1080, good to know. The go pro supposedly has a higher 'Bit color range" which is why it takes longer, is what I have heard. I'm a bit of a luddite when it comes to the tech world I can hardly keep up with it all. Why do you choose to film in 1080? curious.
Simply because the files are smaller and easier for my computer to handle. Although I haven't actually tried filming in 4k and testing it on my current laptop, so it's something to consider and see how it handles the files.
Bit surprised Gabe doesn’t haggle a bit more on prices. I know it can be tiresome but last time I went to India (many years ago admittedly) I negotiated better prices on pretty much everything except food and fixed price travel 🧳 🥘
