I agree. I've been struggling ever since I started working out five times a week with hitting my best. For the longest a thought it was just due to not stretching enough (I still think this is the case), but now I'm starting to think it's due to the type of footwear I'm training in and because I'm not doing exercises like these. I think I'm going to start focusing on these forms of workouts for a warmup routine instead of using the treadmill.
Amazing video! Tons of knowledge learned! One of the few people out there that actually give you the real information the things you really need to know. Someone that doesn’t give you the bs or holds back or gives you parts of the recipe but instead gives you the whole meal. Sometimes you can see through you tubers that they are not 100 percent real but Steve Cook is one of the few people that I came across to. Have been a subscriber for over 2 yrs now! Keep up the great work! Hopefully I can meet you someday!
Been following you and silently lurking your channel for years now as I moved from 120 lbs to 170 lbs and this was by far one of the best videos I've seen in some time. I care a lot about mobility and flexibility and you did an awesome job presenting that to us in a digestible way. Thanks, Steve! Hope your gym business is making as many gains as you are!
Love love love this tutorial! I'm going to try it this week. My hips are so damn tight from sitting at Uni all day and studying that when I workout they hurt. This will be great to strengthen these smaller weak areas. Please keep these workouts coming! I agree that fitness should not just be about strength and looking good, but also functioning at our fullest potential; having endurance and well rounded strength. I love that Fitness Culture is taking on this approach.
I did this workout before my basketball game today. I have never felt so lose and agile. Played on of my best games. Thank you Steve for posting this. I hope I can inspire just as many people as you have.
Hi, Steve! I know you posted this a year ago, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate this video and it's content. I'm closing in on 40, I'm a retired women's rugby player and had I known these movements years ago, more than likely I'd still be on the pitch. Who knows- maybe after incorporating these movements for a while, I'll get back out there! Please consider posting more like these that focus on mobility and stability. I like your approach to being a well-rounded athlete and I can't express how important I find these principles the older I get. Thank you! And Merry Christmas!
Hey Steve, I have watched your videos for years now and this is the best one! Not discounting your other videos, but the information and style of training in this one is super important for longevity. Thanks for giving us some new exercises to add to the arsenal.
These are some things that I keep putting on the back burner. Im not afraid to do these things in the gym, but don't look as forward to it. After watching this video, I realize you are right an that these off days are super important for staying athletic. Thanks again Steve and Jake!
Love it. As an athlete I've been training myself and my clients like this for years. I'm shocked at how many personal trainers don't teach this stuff especially here in the UK. Mobility, agility, flexibility and play are so important whilst training. Great work. Keep it coming. 👊🏿💪🏿
This is so great! My son plays football and he left home this year for college. I use to train with him on the weekends. I would help him in the weight room and he would do functional training with me. Thanks for this. I am def going to incorporate this weekly. You guys are awesome! Glad I found ya! Def subscribed!
Awesome video Steve. With my injury over the last year I've also realised that this kind of training is so important. Good effort mate. All the best with your injury.
Great video, Steve, as always! As an athlete myself who is also into bodybuilding, it's very refreshing to see the two come together like this. Thanks to you and Coach Hutton! If I'm ever in St. George, I know exactly where I'll be getting my workouts in at!
Thank you again Steve and Coach Hutton! This video has given me the motivation to for more of these exercise and to become more nimble and mobile. ! loving the work gents
This was really awesome and helpful. One of my favorites of your most recent uploads I'm a little guy. And even though I'm probably old enough to be your father, even when I was younger, I couldn't move my compact body the way you two move your much larger bodies. To watch you guys move like you do, for as big and muscular as you are, makes me envious. It's really impressive. Speaking of prolonging our active lifting/athletic lives, I'm wondering if you could do a video on exercises to protect agains rotator cuff injuries. My left rotator cuff is shot, and I suspect it's from overuse in the weight room. Maybe just show us (especially us older guys) proper form on standard lifts to protect against RC injuries and maybe show us some exercises we can do to strengthen and heal the RC if we've injured one. Thanks, Steve!
I run track competitively (800m-3k) and I was literally going to start doing this type of gym work today with a few more exercises added. Thanks for giving this info out for free, you’re by far the best TH-camr out there 💪🏽
Hey Steve just wanted to let you know I love getting to see exactly what you're doing in your workout through the video! I'm currently college student who is also an ex-D1 lineman, I'm getting back into working out but unfortunately can't afford to buy a training program. It's tough because I'm used to walking into the gym and getting told what to do and I don't have that now so I love getting to see how you train and what your workouts are to help me build my own and learn!
This is one of your best content! Love how you have the move w/# of sets and reps. I'm putting this in as my active recover day. Thanks to the both of you for keeping in the "game" for a life time. 💖
Love the accessory work. I have tore both of my Acl’s over the years with football and I really like the TKE’s and knee health movements. Keep the knowledge bombs coming man!
Love this! I lift 4 times a week (mon-thurs) and do a pilates and metafit class during the week at the gym and with this I can do this in my garden at weekends before i do a HIIT - Friday's my day off ❤ thanks 👍
I'm really inspired and delighted. I've been watching and following you for a long time. This video literally sits me on my ass. "Who cares about how big you're and how much weight do you lift on deadlift but what's really important is how mobility, athletic, explosive you're." That's it exactly what it is. You're made it! Come on Steve, you're my boy! That's awesome inspiration motivation video for me. Thank you and appreciate the video. More of these videos, please! Jake has a lot of information what interests me about NFL preparation. I'm just a young guy from the Czech Republic playing and loving football. I've already included most of those exercises in my training program for football off days. I wish that I'll visit FitnessCulture one day and meet Steve and Jake, you're my inspiration on my way to be a professional athlete. Thank you for being here for me.
Damn Steve. Don’t know how long I been thinking that it’s the same old same old things I do at the gym. I’m 29 and told my little 20 year old bro that we need to hit more of an athletic workout. This is perfect. Thanks for the info and it’s just excuses we make because most of us that played sports in high school know we should be incorporating this into our routine. We are just LAZY!!!!
I won’t lie man I used to laugh at all the bodybuilding dudes on TH-cam because they NEVER got into these types of training styles. Functional training. Steve man I got MAD respect for you. It’s not too often that you find advocates of not just bodybuilding but athletics all together who are successful in the fitness industry. Thanks for these videos and although it may not mean much, I’m definitely subscribing. Lol Keep up these great videos!!
been here since the very first videos "22 Things happy people do differently" good stuff and needless to say your content is on fire lately!!! @Stevecook
I really really enjoyed this video. It's definitely unique content that bodybuilding youtubers tend to not have. I am in the gym 6 days a week and I was puzzled on what I can do in between heavy days since my muscles are constantly sore. I enjoy the mental/mood benefits of the gym even if I know that I need to give my muscles enough time to recover. I am looking forward to add more active recovery days and try out these more "athletic" movements.
Thanks for the upload Steve. I think that not working on Endurance or basically becaming a better athlete is such a common thing in the bodybuilding scene. Even for myself. I played soccer for 6/7 years and i was probably in a better shape than i am know, just because i gained like 20kg and became bigger im no longer able to do some of the things i used to do back in the day. Im gonna start doing some endurance work every week now!!
Jake needs more camera time. Guy knows his shit
this. he is a good role model for the fitness community. Big, strong, agile and damn flexible.
He certainly does
I think this is one of the best videos you've put out in months. this info is priceless and so helpful long term
I agree. I've been struggling ever since I started working out five times a week with hitting my best. We may all not be professional athletes, but we can train and feel like one !
joanna prevost yes for sure!
Absolutely!
joanna prevost sounds like something jeff would say :')
should do a video on jakes background.. dudes a beast
Love how you put the reps/time up on the screen
The new format is awesome!
Your channel is headed in the right direction👍🏼
I like the educational videos (in addition to the more vloggy type). Its evident Jake has so much knowledge, would like to hear more of it.
Amazing video! Tons of knowledge learned! One of the few people out there that actually give you the real information the things you really need to know. Love to see more of Jake always gives great information

Steve, love the stats on screen. Huge added value.
I am definitely doing this tmrw! I love how you put the information in little boxes cuz it’s easier to follow along that way. Thanks 🙏🏻
Hey Steve and Jake
I appreciate This
I'd definitely like to see more of this stuff!

awesome awesome video!!!!! Learning so much from you and Jake!
I wish we had a gym like yours around here that gave open green space indoors!! love it!!

the way you labeled your workouts and the sets was awesome please continue to do it!!!
Hey Steve, I have watched your videos for years now and this is the best one! Not discounting your other videos, but the information and style of training in this one is super important for longevity. Thanks for giving us some new exercises to add to the arsenal.
Love it when you both tag team together. Your info and Jake's info is gold!
Easily the best video I’ve seen you make. Thanks for putting all the sets and reps/movements. Can’t wait to do this tomorrow morning
love this much needed for a college athlete without the resources of personal trainers.
I love that you put that information in your videos. You’ve always been very informational!!! Thanks, Steve. Great editing skills also!!
These are some things that I keep putting on the back burner. Im not afraid to do these things in the gym, but don't look as forward to it. After watching this video, I realize you are right an that these off days are super important for staying athletic. Thanks again Steve and Jake!

Would love some videos on how you started fitness Culture and the business side of things....
Yes please 👌👌
More of this please! Need to have one of these days per week.
Definitely enjoyed the added details about each exercise on top of the labels in the video.

My BEST duo man so inspiring love these kind of videos.
That warmup was great.. been looking for something to really open up the hips on deadlift/squat days
Awesome video Steve! Really helpful to see the names of the movements and rep/set schemes in the screen.
Throwing back to memories of season , preciate it Steve .
One of the best fitness videos that I've watched. All about a healthy life and body, great stuff!

Really like the information if you're adding to these videos. Those little pop ups with the specific details are excellent!
Way to push day in and day out...Huge Fan and you inspire the way I did on Bodyspace years back. Damn good feeling... SwoldierNation!
I'm really inspired and delighted. I've been watching and following you for a long time. This video literally sits me on my ass. Well rounded video... 2 thumbs up
Still referring back to this video 3 years later! Priceless information.
Great video man. Like these type of videos that show us workouts we wouldn’t typically do
Putting the sets, reps, and time is very helpful.
I won’t lie man I used to laugh at all the bodybuilding dudes on TH-cam because they NEVER got into these types of training styles. Functional training. Steve man I got MAD respect for you. Ladder Drills are also a good form of an athletic warm up that promotes more movement
