As always you took me someplace beautiful and gave me some fun information too! Great recommendations as always. I have been before but you showed me More than I saw on my trip! I had no idea it was an homage to Venice in Italy! Great boardwalk and sunsets! And I love the parking tips!
There it is! My favorite part of Los Angeles! Even just visiting here would be more than sufficient! Thanks for the parking tips btw! I would prefer Venice canals for the sunset time and you guys of course go great pics!
Great recommendations Sarah! We also would enjoy watching the roller bladers and skateboarders. There really is so much to do, I think a day trip would go by fast. Alan got some great shots around sunset 📸
Very helpful - I'll be coming to the area mid October and wanted to check this area. I really think I will check out the canals and houses - looks like such a cute area!
The vibe at Venice Beach seems amazing! I was there years ago when working on a cruise ship, but we literally only had enough time to jump out the taxi, take a pic at the Venice Beach sign, and run back to the taxi 🙈😅 Love all the street art, the fair style food, the promenade looks amazing, and I didn’t know about those beautiful canals 🥰 Your hubby did a great job with those sunset pics on the beach 👏
Bringing back so many memories! I loved walking down the boardwalk just to observe the people. It's nice to see that they cleaned it up some. There was a long period there after I moved away that Venice Beach became a homeless tent city. I remember my friends telling me and showing me pictures about it. I'm glad it's getting back to what always made it great. Especially the skate park. I remember when they filled the whole thing it during covid....smh. Oh That area behind the rocks, during high tide becomes a sheltered pool. I loved chilling in that spot without having to deal with the waves. Definitely got yourselves a true Cali Sunset.
When we were there in 2017 it was a tent city. So seeing it cleaned up was really nice. But in downtown LA... that must be where they relocated. Cool to know about the sheltered pool - I bet it's nice to enjoy the calm water there.
Great tip on parking. Would you park at Venice Beach and do the canal and boardwalk to Santa Monica Pier or park at Santa Monica Pier and work your way to Venice Beach and the canal. Being old, I would Uber back to the car, Not that it matters but it would be on a Wed. that we would be going.
I still have pictures in VB from back in the early 80's when I was 17, I'm 59 now. I remember renting roller-skates and booting around. I even saw the dude in the turban that use to play guitar while skating around. I saw pictures recently with all the homeless there and it was tragic to say the least.
It's a beautiful area. Too bad there's such a large population of homeless living in the area and there aren't more housing/shelter options there. But the downtown area made Venice Beach look like a paradise compared to the tents and garbage everywhere in the downtown core.
@@TheAverageTourist ...ya it's a real shame it's gotten to that or allowed to have gotten to that. I can appreciate it's a complicated issue give people's personal rights, mental health issues, addiction issues etc...that said the public also has the right to want to be able to use public spaces and parks themselves without having to wander around / through these apocalyptic homeless landscapes. I have no clue what the solutions is I just know this ain't it.
Sounds crazy but I had no idea Venice beach was based on actual Venice in Italy. Loved the footage of you directing Alan to get the perfect sunset shot!
Nice I just came back from a trip from LA I found Venice Beach beautiful but there were lots of homeless/gangs of men hanging around on the main boardwalk…I live in Australia
The "Rainbow Lifeguard Tower" is actually a symbol of Venice's LGBT Pride. Venice had numerous gay/lesbian bars before WeHo became the center of Gay life in LA. Usually the end of May has a Pride Festival around the tower to celebrate and honor the history of Queer life in the beach areas of LA.
Watch out for some commercial vendors who say it’s home made. Be careful of the CD scammers slinging their so called reggae music 😂Yes Venice beach stores and vendors sometimes scam so pay with cash 😮Always praying 🙏🙏🙏plenty of free street parking 😊pay attention to free street parking 😊
Awesome video and great parking tips!
Thank you!!

Thank so much! It was a great spot to spend the afternoon - so much to do!
Oh the famous Venice Beach....you have made a very good guide for 1st time visitors....Thanks..
Thank you, I appreciate it!
That skateboard ring was amazing! I'm always surprised on what they can do!
Lovely sunset and great walking on the beach! 😍
It was such a fun thing to see while we were there - and great sunset.
Look at that beautiful weather in the background!! Just gorgeous ⛱🌅🏄♀️⛵️
It was!
Fantastic presentation as always, this was done masterfully. Streets are so lovely and picturesque!
Many thanks!

I really liked this area too - it was my favourite part of this time.

Alan got some great shots around sunset 📸
Thanks so much! His inner photographer is shining :)
Love the vibe here, especially the skate park. I could watch them skate all day! Also, great sunset and canal captures! Alan does great work!
We loved the vibe too - and I'll pass that along to Alan :)
Thank you for the lovely suggestions! The last time we were in Venice the fog moved in quickly and we ended up just heading back to our hotel!
That's too bad that the fog ruined the visit - you'll have to get back one day :)
Awesome video with lot of information. Another great share.
Thanks so much.

Thanks for the amazing video about Venice Beach. I love your tips you just keep getting me adding to my travel list. Keep up the amazing posts.
Thanks so much!
That's a cool skatepark. Best trick ever could be performed there ;)
Yeah! We liked the skatepark too
Great video Sara!
Thanks!

It was such a vibe there! Too bad you didn't have more time to spend in the area. The canal area was so pretty. I'll let him know!! :)

I’m taking my kids there this summer I’m so excited
Enjoy!!
I’ll have to add some of these to my list
Awesome, enjoy!

You could easily do that, and it's not too far of a walk, actually. The Sanra Monica Pier parking area gets quite busy.

Is their lockers on the beach to store items in case you want to get in the water?
We didn't see any on our visit
Venice Ale House on the boardwalk is a great place for a pint and some people watching!
Oh good info will have to go next time

Haha yes - a behind the scenes... in the scenes! lol
Yeah we have our own beach of Italy..
This looks like Hollywood beach Florida beach 🏝️
Facts expect Hollywood beach palm trees thicker
Will go there 😊
Can you share the name of the parking lot you got for $9? Thx.
Can't remember the name but it was right at the beach Oceanfront Walk by It's Sugar. We went after 4pm.
Nice I just came back from a trip from LA I found Venice Beach beautiful but there were lots of homeless/gangs of men hanging around on the main boardwalk…I live in Australia
Here's a meaningful fun activity; Go to the Electric Lodge Theatre! E=mc2 | Einsteins Meet Charlie Chaplin will be playing from Sept. 27 to Nov. 3!
So now days ,,life guard stations are paint colors?
Why ???

Are you Mrs Sujano ?
I am!
Can I take my dog ??
Seems like it, we saw a few dogs on the boardwalk.
