    @6:50 I have this AllPowers model - It also continues to charge when the battery percentage gets to 100%. I thought it was a defect in my particular power station but I guess its how they all work. Strange...
    Overall, I think its a good power station that is affordable compared to competition. I especially liked the ability to charge over USB PD. Don't mind the slow charging as doing so would stress the batteries less.
    I would like to see a future revision get LifePo4 batteries and a 100W (or higher) USB PD port. A second USB PD port would be nice too.

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree LiFePO4 and 100W USB-C would be great! Although not sure they could do that and keep its compact size which is what I like most about this unit.

    Thank you so much for your speedy, informative reply. In your opinion is it worth me adding a 100W solar panel permanently to my carvan's roof just to charge my laptop for the occassional day? ....I will try the USBC cable the other way round....

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not something I've got setup - but a popular idea - great to have the unit topped up ready for use and free of charge.

  • @artistrespondingoutside6406
    @artistrespondingoutside6406 ปีที่แล้ว

    Which is the correct way round for efficient laptop charging? the wide end in the power station and small end in the laptop or vice versa? Thank you.

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the laptop supports USB-C charging - it would be USB-C to USB-C - best to check the manual to see what your laptop supports.

  • @artistrespondingoutside6406
    @artistrespondingoutside6406 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the video. My Allpowers powers station is frustrating because my laptop depletes the battery by 1% per minute using the socket. Using USB the laptop doesn't charge. Its a smaller one because it has wireless charging according to your content, I lost the leaflet. My problem is I need to charge my laptop out and and about. Do I need a bigger power station and which one or a solar panel on the roof with leisure battery - given price of £800 to do next week. ( I don't use other electricals).

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Really depends how your laptop charges - does it it charge with USB Power Delivery - with a USB-C type connector? If not you'd need an AC adapter and the AC outlet on the Allpowers. But the AC inverter will deplete the power station even without any load so you'll need to make sure you turn AC off when not needed.

    Incredibly thorough review - now a follower! Just a quick question - how long does this hold its charge if left unused I.e. does the unit deplete power gradually and over time even when nothing is connected?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! With everything turned off the battery will still deplete slightly over time. I haven't done an exact measurement - it's not much. But you shouldn't be leaving these things more than a 3-6 months without a recharge and then they recommend storing them at around 50-60% capacity.

    Very informative video . I’m looking for a portable battery for AC power that last for 10 hours that I can use in my cabin. I only have 220v light bulbs . I have 6 of them each is 15 watt. Which portable battery you recommend for me to buy. Thank you

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad you found the video helpful. If they actually draw 15W each then that's 90W / hour. So this unit would provide around 5 hours - you'd need something with a 1000Wh battery like the Jackery Explorer 1000 or similar. The AC200P I just reviewed would do it - it has a 2000Wh battery but is probably overkill!

    Good info but what do you do with a brand new AllPowers generator,identical to the one you are reviewing, that will not turn on after the very first charge? The company has a no return policy.

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That doesn't sound good. I'm not sure what country you're in, but you should be covered by local laws for something like this. Won't your reseller accept the return? Good luck!

    Finally a useful review and not a reading of what it says on Aliexpress, thanks for this!
    I have a question, I want to use it to be able to work with my desktop pc, monitor, etc. The doubt is, if I can use it as if it were SAI/UPS? My idea is to connect Allpowers to the mains and the pc to the battery, so if the power goes out everything is still running.
    If this is not possible, is there something that can be connected in the middle to derive the current to the battery without turning off everything?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great glad it helped! This doesn't have a UPS function as such. So although it'd work it wouldn't be great for the battery long term. For occasional use though it'll be just fine.

      I would contact their support! Did you leave it on a storage charge when you put it away? If the battery has drained completely and has been like that for 3 years it may well be dead but again Allpowers can advise.

    Ecoflow or allpowers, that is the question for me. I want the bigger power units to power off grid my campervan/motorhome and with energy prices and potential for power outage or social credit controls, power my home. I know ecoflow has the ability and can be doubled up to essentially be a battery bank, almost eliminating some solar domestic battery systems such as tesla wall. I've a deal with allpowers seller, and albeit they don't provide a 12v charging cable they will, foc. My question to you and yet to be answered by them in full, is where is the 12v input to chsrge the device. This is an important feature for me, in the camper.
    If I was to ask a simple question of you, if both were the same price and same out put, which would you buy, Eco or allpowers?
    Thanks for making these videos, they are helpful to a novice like me

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hopefully I've covered this for you here: th-cam.com/video/M7PLjkE-9HE/w-d-xo.html. You use the mains input port. It's slow charging off 12V though. The Allpowers is cheaper and more compact - but love the fast charging, accompanying app and 100W PD output of the EcoFlow.

    • @paulmills1605
      @paulmills1605 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheTechnologyMan thanks. I will take a view. The Eco flow has some future proof benefits. It can be added too and likely power a small home in addition to its portability. Some hard decision making in the next day or so

    Hi there, interesting videos, thanks. I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. I have a 250W solar panel, a 150wh AGM battery, and a Victron 75/15 blue tooth solar charger. The problem I have is that I can't seem to connect with the Victron through blue tooth. I've tried everything. So, What is the cheapest way I can keep an eye on my battery charge. What monitors are out there without having to go over budget. I just want to know what the battery is taking in and giving out. Thanks.

    My Sprinter has a 25ah rated cig.lighter output which is 300watts I believe. Surely if I can get a 300watts inverter and plug it in to said lighter socket I can charge 100w AC adapter and usb C simultaneously, I should achieve 160w. Any thoughts?

    • @TheTechnologyMan

It's the same size, weight and 606Wh rating as far as I can tell. Plus they seem to throw in a 60W pd charger now which is cool for dual charging

    as i have the same device for some time now i want to add some of my experience and issiues i had with mine. using while charging is possible but
    the display gets really inaccurate. it seems like the discharge isnt calculated at all, thats especially an issiue when the output is higher than the input,
    it just doesnt go down. it only starts to settle slowly for the real percentage if there is no meaningfull input.
    one other thing that can be anoying it the bi-directional usb-c port like you mentioned.
    you should try if you can change the charging direction on your ravpower with some button press combination.
    thats how it works with one of my powerbanks. but im out of luck with one of my bluetooth speakers. it always want to charge the power station except the speaker is empty.
    otherwise i need to charge it slowly with normal 5v usb.
    that being said, and i dont know how usefull that might be, you can charge the powerstation with 5v on usb-c also even if its slow.
    i have it in 24h use and the solar charging is a bit weird sometimes. it doesnt charge or slower than it should be but i cant put my finger on it.
    one thing i find interesting, you said your 12v ports ar not regulated. i mention that because some other reviewer said the only not regulated port is his car lighter port
    and its not switchable. im pretty sure i tested it and they all are regulated in my device. i can also switch them all off.
    that would suggest there are different models out there. thats all i can rememberfor now.
    😉

    Great review!
    I have the same 606Wh Allpowers battery, but my one has an issue.
    I’ve connected DC 55v item, and the display is supposed to show as remaining time around 11hours (606Wh / 55w = 11h)
    The user manual also mentions this, 50w application will run for 10.5 Hours.
    However, it displays only 4.5 hours. But after 8hours the battery is still running.
    Also after battery is fully used, I charged battery only 6mins but it displayed 31% charged already.
    So the ‘time to empty battery’ display is completely wrong and unusable.
    So i contacted seller and they sent me a replacement but exatly the same issue.
    Do you have a similar issue?

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't find the display super accurate - it's just an estimate although that does sound a bit off. I would do a capacity test on the unit though and check you're getting the full capacity of the battery.
