hey cap: I finally bought my first drone after watching your channel for some time. Anafi. Only $599 with 3 batteries now. First time flying it today. So much fun.;...
I absolutely LOVE my Anafi. The perfect back yard drone. So un-intrusive. Great video, great flight time. Love the hand launch. Yeah, unrefined, pricy, but I still love it.
Great drone and one year later I find that I swap out my Mavic Air for this drone as part of my everyday walk-around kit. The ability to look straight up is a unique feature, and the dolly-zoom effect in such a small pkg is a great tool in many circumstances. The Anafi stands out with great features even 1 year after it's initial release.
I got one on July 1st and could not be happier. I’m currently beta testing Free Flight 6 v1.0. It’s not for the hot rods and rule breakers. It’s a keep it close and set up your shot properly drone that assumes the operator gets how good video is made. Of course you can have fun with all the auto features but it’s real strength is the great and easy to use camera settings for proper color and light balance that are super easy to use. The zoom in lossless at 1080 is incredibly useful. I’m glad no OA gets in the way of choice of flight. The full 180 tilt up gimbal adds to your creative eye for some really amazing sequences. So far, in the few days I’ve owned it, I’ve gotten angles and shots that no other camera can. If you are serious about making creative video and 21mp photos (curiously left out of this video) then consider this unit. I flew it in sand dunes and with a hand launch and catch had no issues with dirt or fine sand invading those openings. As for the SD card holder, it works fine and it’s easy to get the card in and out. Best $700.00 investment I’ve made in my long and endless quest for the magic shots.
Thanks for the observations, they are equally as valid as mine. As I fly it more I'll have future videos. So far, as noted in my video, I do like it for the price (the good outweighs the bad).
What a refreshing experience to find a drone review presented in a crisp, professional and efficient manner, that gets straight into it and tells you what you need to know. I'm sick of drone reviews that open with some bored-looking dude sitting on a couch greeting me with "Wassup guys", and then inserting hundreds of "er" and "um" into every sentence. Good work sir, keep it up! Hope to see more of the same from you in the future. Oh yes, I nearly forgot to say I've been looking at the Anafi because I really need a drone for inspection work that can see straight up, but I wanted to find out what the early-adopters thought of it first (I remember the GoPro Karma and how well that went). Based on this review, I'm about to order one. If only they also had spare batteries available.
Thank you! I'm certainly enjoying the Anafi, I'm finding it to be my goto drone for everyday video and photo. Batteries are coming and they will be a bit pricey at first, but then eventually drop in price.
BTW if you plug usb cable into battery while attached to drone you can transfer files without ever removing card at all so the cardholder isn't a real issue:)
That is true for making the Micro SD card holder last longer. Unfortunately the formatting of the Micro SD game has a glitch in it, so the Micro SD card can't be read in all computers. I recall one other drone had this problem, but was fixed with a firmware update.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 You will find comments from iPad, iPhone users who can get their devices to read FAT32, but it is not universally so. I found a comment from one who said his iPad Mini 4 reads FAT32, yet mine does not.....but it does read xFAT.....but the drone does not. I wanted to be able to put the SD into my iPad Mini 4 via a card reader, so that we could watch videos and photos, since I use the iPad with the controller, but I cannot find an app that will get the iPad to read the FAT32 SD card (I have tried several). Drone companies need to make the SD card xFAT compatible (tell 'em Capt).
My first drone was the bebop 1, I had so many problems with manufacturing issues but their purchase-able flightplan app is incredibly useful and well made. Ended up returning the aircraft for a P3S due to the issues with motors or RTH button.
This kind of discussions makes me always think as the "Harley vs Indian" discussion! Black or white! Choosing a side... I am one of the very early DJI flyers. Now I went to Anafi. It is a very good drone. Anafi performs well and does what I want her to do. Still; there are minor points which are better with DJI-crafts. Problem with most people is the objectivity...
I think its a great little drone for some of my needs. OA would be the last thing I want on this since I want to fly in some very tight places with it, which it does very well. That gimbal is sweet. Everyone that wants to get more creative with their shots should have this ability to look up, with no props in the shot. Should have been done long ago. Kudos to Parrot for innovating
Hi there... there's one more good thing about the anafi.... the lens filters for the dji mavic pro fit perfectly and work great with the anafi...

I still testing the Parrot Anafi but I can say the Gimbal and Zoom have changed, from my perspective, the way we look at the air world and even our way of flying with the drone when compared to Bebop 2 or Disco. Thank you very much for the feedback. See you soon, here or in my channel, best regards...
I have had mine since July 3rd. And I'm happy with it. I had a couple problems but I ended up resolving one of them was I couldn't establish GPS for my phone that was because I had to give the app permission the other one is to download the files to my phone you have to use a SD card it will not download to the internal memory. Somebody that I know that is retired and builds and repairs drones said that he thought he saw a video of a person from the company saying that they listen to the customers and most of them didn't care if it had obstacle avoidance. Another guy that I know that's close to retirement has a Inspire 1 and when he practices with it he doesn't use obstacle avoidance GPS or even a camera and he flys it like a boss.
Super quiet and very decent battery life. Seem like auto exposure is 1 stop too high. in app purchase is dumb but it's "only" $17 usd. So far I really like the drone.
Bo aka FPVguy is reporting 7 stops in normal and 10+ in HDR mode. I've been playing with the HDR in post to see whats possible regarding de-saturating and moving away from the greenish tint.
I have several good quality cameras that capture video in HDR. I can honestly say that all of them don't do it very well. The Anafi's camera and software makes a good attempt at it, but the result is somewhat artificial. Video HDR and nice sunny days looks very wrong. Video HDR on dull overcast days can actually pull out objects in the image so that they are not under or over exposed... but then it again tends to look a bit odd. I'm going to use the HDR sparingly.
Be aware that Parrot offers zero repair service after warranty is expired. They basically just say "unfortunately we wouldn't be able to advise with warranty as the product is no longer covered. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I find this unacceptable.
Parrot gave up on consumer drones a couple of years ago and moved the staff to commercial drones. There are only a few countries that have parrot support.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Problem is they are still selling them but offer no support after warranty expires. They should stop selling them if they can't offer support. Actually, according to their website, they don't offer ANY warranty. [addendum] I contacted a drone repair company and Parrot outright rejected any support even to them in aid of fixing my Anafi. $500 bucks down the drain.
This makes all the difference to me. DJI's exclusion area around airports is bigger than, and more stupidly shaped, than UK law determines. The place I most want to fly is legal to fly but DJI won't allow me to fly there. Not good DJI!
I borrowed a phantom from a friend. I live in Barrhaven, Ottawa not even near the airport and it won't take off because it's on the exclusion zone. Needless to say, a dji is not for me
I bought this drone in June 2019 , I picked it over the Dji because of most of the reviews. But I wish very much that I would have found out more about there customer service it is the worst I ever experienced , very unprofessional diagnosis is the worst on earth. I only had a chance to fly the Anafi maybe 10 times and the time that I did get to fly it , it was awesome, I enjoyed it , it made me some good videos. On 4th of July I brought it out to try film some fireworks being popped around me , I live out in the country so we can pop fireworks all we want. I put the Anafi on my driveway and started it up , I only wanted to go up maybe just 10 ft when I was where I wanted it to be I stopped it but it didn’t stop it kept going up but took off on its own faster up into my tree branch , there was nothing I could do to stop it , I just put the remote down and waited to see if it as going get hung up in branch or come down. It hit the branches shut off came down I tried to catch it but no luck it crashed on my pavement. I called Anafi, they wanted pictures of drone, crash report, other information. Long story short they said it was my fault I should not be flying in the evening or at night or flying high. I said back you telling me then if I want to fly it over water or a mountain on vacation I can’t do that , he said you can do what you want with it once you purchase it but no you can’t fly over water high in the sky, over a mountain you will void warranty, h said since I flew at night I voided warranty and there nothing they can do , there was more said than that between us , but this was my experience with customer service, now I have a 700 dollar drone broken in my box that I can do nothing about. I wish I would have went with Dji
I took off from my home and flew it to the nearby park .after several take off and landings. when the battery was at 50% I hit the home button EXPECTING IT TO COME BACK TO ME ..it took off over the trees.I raced after it and found it hovering waiting for me AT 1.5M outside the gate .wish my dog would go home like that :) I WAS IMPRESSED
I was MTB yesterday, I own the DJI P4P Obsidian huge and loud, but the camera is the best for me, someone was flying a Parrot and what I really liked was how quiet it was compared to Mavic or any DJI drones. Thanks for the video you help me with my decision in which Ipad to purchase on one of your drone videos. Fly safe from Germany!
Two things I notice in all the reviews of this drone I've seen is. The bad: 4k looks more like 1080. The good: The anafi doesn't seem to be near as buggy as any of DJI products. I have the Mavic pro, and I never know what issue I will be forced to confront. If the Anafi had a better camera I'd be on it like white on rice.
The good new here is Parrot is starting on the right path to at least bring a little competition to DJI. I have the bebop 1 that I started with, along with Yuneec Q500+ then progressed to the P4P , Mavic Pro. It’s an expensive hobby , my big gripe is the price of batteries lol. Thanks for a honest review ,well presented, kind Regards.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you I will try Captain. I suffered my crash (in a very closed urban area), second time out, while under the auspices of Flight plan. Parrot conducted an air-crash investigation, via the 'black box' of my phone data, and very graciously replaced the instrument. This time I will be doing training at a football oval (guided by your videos)
Holy Crap Captain!!!!;l its back to the future !!!!! (again!); just picked up an Anafi, mint condition, had one years ago however had forgotten how good this little Drone was!; paid $130 AUS for it !; will be doing some comparisons with the Mini 2 ! (as it now has the Zoom also)
Been using the ParrotANAFI for a project . It honestly sucks. Some of these drones are a hit or miss in the sense that some will last you forever and others are just straight up terrible. For example one drone we used was flying fine until it randomly decided to fall out of the sky with no notice. This is my honest opinion on it.
Thank you! Great review! I'm between mavic mini, fimi x8 se and this one, i don't know what to choose, Parrot anafi is beautifull drone with great camera!!! Cheers from Chios-Greece.
I sure hope Parrot makes the adjustment! Just the other day I was flying in an area surrounded by tall trees. A RTH altitude of 20 meters would have been disastrous! Whereas 20 meters would be too high for some applications, especially those the Anafi is particularly suited for such as inspecting under a bridge (for example).
@@fudgedog123 No, with all due respect, that is actually NOT a viable solution if RTH was initiated automatically due to signal loss. Forums are replete with stories how this has caused countless crashes.
the RTH is set to a minimum of 20m meaning if it is lower than 20m it fly up to 20m then RTH ..not what some people think that it will drop from whatever height your flying at above 20m ...if your at 60m and you RTH it will stay at 60m all the way home that’s my understanding
Sure hope they come up w. a spherical panorama option ... perfectly suited with gimbal that swivels 180 deg. up/down ... so you get a complete sphere of pics to stitch ...
It seams. But only seams. I have it too. And more: it is spyware because you have to do a login to fly. And more! At 500 yards anyone can listen you flying this noisy drone

This is up there and a little better than the mini 2. I love the mini 2 but the anafi in race on fpv is pretty awesome. I have the anafi thermal too and there so good in tight spaces n there weight is not to bad I carry mine with 5-6 batteries in the bag n it's fine not to heavy. Great honest review 👏 love your work. Thanks man.
i like that you can point camfrom straight forward to straight up.. this opens up new cinematic creation opportunities.. plus.. also different search and resue from underneeth? What is NFZ restrictions?
Seemed that people should learn to appreciate the amazing camera. DJI's small cameras can not be compared at all when it comes to dynamics and noise !!!
hello captain drone I bought a Parrot anfi and it crashed in the house banging up and down then slambed into the roof with crash guards on ...? so i sent it back got another one coming tomorrow. I did update the software etc.. that was a bummer.. lets hope next parrot anafi has no probs to buy the extra apps is 99P here in the UK.. nice video dude kind regards mark ;)
You see the important stuff, like build quality and things like the sd card that would be problematic in every day use. Thank you very much for your hard work👍🙂 Can't wait for Mavic Air Pro/Mavic Pro 2 😱
You have excellent instructional videos on the Parrot Anafi. In fact they help me to decide to purchase an Anafi drone to use on my Landscape Photography TH-cam channel. Thanks for the in-depth information.
I like Natural. The HDR the grass is way to fake looking green. Best Buy has this on clearance for under $600 with the extra Batteries but I think I might still go with Dji 2
Looks good, I think pretty decent drone. Not sure though I would get it yet, maybe wait til the next version with the added features that you suggested- hopefully will be added. In the mean time loving my Bebop 2 and its features added last year. Cheers and a great review. Thanks. :)
I also have the anafi and for me, the range is decent, when there isn't any obstacle, i got some 3+ km distance no problem but if the drone is behind some tree, the range is like 500/600 meters.
feuauxpoudres wow, that’s awesome range, even with my phone on airplane mode I will get error messages of weak WiFi at very short range and further out I loose video signal, but that may be due to all the homes nearby
I was confused why they wouldnt include the follow me mode for 1€ and make it a seperate purchase considering how little money it is but now I found they were greedy in the past and just made it cheaper while still keeping it a seperate purchase
So... after a few weeks of the Anafi, Evo, Air...... whats the score? I see the Anafi is closer to the Spark but for ease of flight, stability and image quality...
Here's the thing... I hate the fact that all these drones rely on the use of a phone. Is there not anything out there that does not rely on a $500 phone?
I was hoping you could answer a quick question for me regarding the Parrot Anafi and the RTH feature. Setting the scene (hypothetically) of flying in the mountains and launching the drone from a valley point with a destination to look into another valley. Say I have set the RTH height from the default to 100 meters, which is the maximum allowed by the Anafi. As the drone crested the mountain top, which is approximately 200 meters higher than the launch point, then as the drone descends into the next valley, it loses signal with the controller and initiates a RTH. Will the drone rise to an altitude of 100 meters above the launch point? Will the drone rise to an altitude of 100 meters AGL? Will the drone rise to an altitude of 100 meters AMSL? I am concerned that the drone will rise to the set altitude of 100 meters from it's current position AGL and begin the flight to the launch point. But, that may not be high enough to clear the mountain top and may cause a complete loss of the drone. Basically, does the drone follow the terrain and maintain 100 meters AGL (be it 20 meters or 120 meters) until it can safely land at the launch site? Thanks, love the channel!
It would RTH if signal was lost, however it has no obstacle avoidance or common sense so it will fly straight back to you and into any mountainous objects on the way.
I do not know if it is about the time that passed since this video was made, but I just got this drone a few days ago and bought the Follow Me and Flight Plan for 1€ each .
1.1 version of the software now has an adjustable minimum height for return to home - such an obvious move. It was automatically changed from a minimum of 20 to 30 metres by default and you can now set your own height, depending on local conditions (as of yesterday?). I have pitted it against my DJI Spark (in almost identical conditions) and it is consistently getting slightly better range. It is much quieter. The RTH gets your drone back to where you should be waiting but the Spark automatically lands within a metre of where it took off. The Anafi? It comes back, always, n'est-ce pas, what do you want it to do for you, huh? Light a Gauloise and say you're great in bed? My Spark flew out almost all the way to the lake, over 1000 metres away. The Anafi went to the lake, zoomed in and watched a yacht, then crossed the lake, flew on and made use of the extra six minutes of flight time looking at another point of interest out even further. The price has dropped on Amazon too.
The Anafi Extended comes with 2x Batteries and in the USA/Amazon listed at $500 but still requires in-app purchase for follow-me function (allowed to purchase 15 days after 1st flight) for $20 !! I wouldn't consider the Anafi except that it is compatible with Pix4Dcapture for 3D aerial mapping and modeling software to create 3D-point-cloud, 3D-mesh, or 2D maps.
How do you think this compares to the Spark as far as noise and hover drift goes? I am always so impressed how rock solid my Spark is in the wind with very little drifting.
The ANAFI doesn't grab the GPS as fast as the Spark, but it lets you take off regardless. Once it has the GPS, then it is more stable... as long as there is not much wind. The Spark wins in the obstacle avoidance & follow me category. Both drones have their Great and not so great points.
you are right both drones have their pro and cons. i bought the anafi and i am very pleased. i hope many people buy anafi because its a very good drone and it is our advantage as customers that there is competition on the market.
Funny. I ran into the SD card problem, the backing and the inability to read the SD card on the macintosh. The SD card I used which produced the error was a card I had lying around. I've purchased several new SD cards and you can plug them right in off the shelf with no error. They then are read with the macintosh without a problem. So I don't know what format the Anafi uses, as of yet. Great review.
It seems, as usual, Parrot have some great marketing people behind them! I for one had my interest picqued seriously when I saw the vertical range of the camera, instantly thinking this had the jump on DJI for inspection uses and was the first "serious" competition Parrot has produced! Alas, it seems the construction is still toy/hobby grade with major omissions (like follow me not being standard!!!) and no obstacle avoidance???!! I would like to add that if you were flying with the camera in the vertically up position you would have VLOS at all times and if need be, another person watching the video/camera position 😉
Glad I watched this video, was just about to buy one, wont bother now, maybe if it was $300 , will go for the Mavic, a far better drone I reckon and not that much more
Always enjoy your videos. I wanted to drawn for sometime and was really leaning towards the DJI Mavic Mini. Then I became concerned when I heard many reports of them being lost in Highwinds. After watch your reviews of the Parrot Anafi I’m thinking it might be mire forgiving in windy conditions. Also your statement that it’s the best drone available for $699 or less. So I’m gathering you consider it better than the Mini, right? Has your opinion changed since you made this video a year ago? Thanks in advance for your answer!
Thank you so much for your reply. But if you would be so kind I need a little further advice. On the video you were talking about best drone for under 699. Actually I’m trying to stay under $600 TOTAL. Right now there seems to be a few good deals. I’m trying to take advantage of one of the extended flight packages it comes with multiple batteries. So maybe you could help me choose by those listed below or maybe suggest something different which is the best value for under $600 including extended flying (multiple batteries). Thanks again for your advice and I really appreciate and enjoy your videos! You suggested before DJ I Mavic Air 2. DJ I Mavic Mini Fly More Combo (Includes 4 Batteries) On Sale Tru Sunday (6-21) $499 Plus for $39 I can add Care Refresh Crash Insurance W/tax & ins $570 2. Parrot - ANAFI Extended Drone with Skycontroller - Dark Gray (Includes 3 Batteries) $599 w/tax $635 3. Any better deal you would recommend in the $600 or under range ? THANKS AGAIN !!!
@@jaymaynard2646 Save your money and get the DJI MAVIC AIR 2. If you can't afford that, then you are left with the PARROT ANAFI, HUBSAN ZINO 2, HUBSAN ZINO PRO, HUBSAN ZINO, MAVIC MINI, FIMI SE X8 2020.
CAPTAIN DRONE thanks so much for your quick reply. But I was hoping you could help me narrow it down to 1 not 6. At this time I’m really not in a position to spend more then $650 with tax. Trying to take advantage of the deals that offer multiple batteries really made sense to me. I’m really just looking for something that my teenage granddaughters might enjoy doing with grandpa. I really don’t know that it will go any further than that with us at this time. I can’t afford to buy a little drone and lose it in the wind. So if you had to narrow it down to one knowing my situation, please help me choose one. Once again I really appreciate all your generosity and time. Thank you for helping me with this decision that is a bit overwhelming to me!
Interesting! Not sure I would want it to auto record on take off. With 16 GB card and filming in 4k what a waist of Data. Is there a option to turn off this. Thanks
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks, Mine is on charge right now. This going to be a interesting drone for me. As a Yuneec H pilot after my DJI drone. I have a feeling that this will be like using the litchi app. Maybe. either way its fun. thanks for the quick reply.
Correct. If I placed the micro SD card in a PC it could be read but for some reason not on a MAC. The card that is included with the ANAFI could be read on my MAC. I honestly don't know if the problem is that the ANAFI has a glitch when it comes to formatting or if it is the size of file data it formats to. Eventually I just formatted a 64 Gig micro SD card in a small RUNCAM camera and then stuck it in the ANAFI. The ANAFI could read it and write to it, and my MAC could read it. I'm just leaving the card in the ANAFI and downloading the images through the battery USB C port. No more touching the card. It really is a poor design on the part of PARROT for including such an SD card holder/reader.
I happen to like the Anafi better. I own both and can point to specific things, but it really comes down to the zoom lens. They are very comparable and I have killed my first Mavic Air and Parrot Anafi alike. Both died a watery death. The Mavic Air in a creek behind my home and the Anafi in the Ohio River at the McAlpine Dam when filming the wreckage from a barge accident.
You have to see both sidesvof the purpose of the design. "It has full of holes so it's not protected from the elements, the motor is can be seen as well." is actually desgined FOR... "it has full of holes so it could operate in temperate climates and especially the motor is designed that way so it wouldn't overheat - and last longer and avoid dying."
Like Emerslam said, At least it won't ground you on NFZ. Thats what I'm looking for. Because I got Clearance to Fly from USAF and DJI wouldn't let me. Now we have a chinese big brother lol
Have there been any firmware updates? Has the cost of "follow me" changed? Just watched another video about saying the cost was $.99. Range on it? Love your honest 'real world/experience' reviews!
Hello CD. What do you think about the Anafi's pre-set RTH altitude of 20 meters? I really like the Anafi overall, just a bit concerned that the pilot cannot set the RTH altitude as there are many instances where this is not just a luxury, but a necessity (IMO).
Thanks for your review. I'm a photographer attempting to find a quad with a good camera. The specs seem better for still photos than the competition at this price. Your opinion?
Still photos are good. Video is also good. Are either better than the competition? Not really, but not in a bad way. The problem is that every 4K drone & its camera on the market is adjusted to work in all lighting in what a photographer would consider "landscape" mode. So sometimes the image is great and other times not so great. Happens with all 4K drone cameras.

You may be right on the exposure. It tends to over exposure bright objects. I think the dynamic range might be slightly lacking.
Nice review...I think i'll wait for the Parrot Anaafi 2 when it comes out. Maybe it will have 3 mechanical axis gimbal and no wifi transmiter.
INTELMAXELL MULTI-ROTORS why not whai for anafi 3 will be much better than 2 😂
Great honest first impressions. Thank you.
Dji is great. But Parrot lets you fly wherever you want. Just sayin...
@@waynster830 i smell a rookie pilot fuck his drone and is complaining now.
the new DJI drone can be flown also wherever you want :)
Still, even though I love my Mavic pro, that is still a pretty cool little drone. But that is a jerk move to buy the follow me mode.
Thank you Captain watching here all the way from Philippines♥️
Just bought one. Everything powered up (unlike my dji) as expected. In app purchases $1.59 cad each. Wow. Dji Air was more than $220 more
I took off from my home and flew it to the nearby park .after several take off and landings. when the battery was at 50% I hit the home button EXPECTING IT TO COME BACK TO ME ..it took off over the trees.I raced after it and found it hovering waiting for me AT 1.5M outside the gate .wish my dog would go home like that :) I WAS IMPRESSED
Very cool!
I must say this does seem very competitive to Dji. I love what I’ve just seen.
You have been doing pppppppp
I like the Anafi. Parrot is always giving special functions you have to buy
for $0.99 each those two functions as in-app (follow me and predefined flight plan)
Thanks for making this very helpful video. Love my Anafi and your video helps remind me of these outstanding features!
Been doing a ton of research. This defiantly helps! Thank you!
When he turned it on, I swear I was beginning to hear what sounded like a cool jet turbine start up almost (because of the cooling fan)
Nice comparison my friend... thanks
This is pretty good review for me, thank you for your sharing.
Great introduction to the new Anafi, thanks you!
Thanks for watching & commenting! Many more reviews on the way.
Thanks Captain Drone, for your helpful videos
P. S. I am, mercifully, a drone crash survivor, but re equipped- and hoping for a brighter day (with more training)
My pleasure! And stay crash free!
Good review. Buying follow-me sucks!!!
I seen on parrots website it claims 2.5 mile range, that's really good for this price range.
Holy Crap Captain!!!!;l its back to the future !!!!! (again!); just picked up an Anafi, mint condition, had one years ago however had forgotten how good this little Drone was!; paid $130 AUS for it !; will be doing some comparisons with the Mini 2 ! (as it now has the Zoom also)
Cool! I still have one but I believe my batteries are all dead
That was great Capt. The first thing i did was chand the turning speed
Fly higher before you press rth then. Pretty obvious really.
@@fudgedog123 No, with all due respect, that is actually NOT a viable solution if RTH was initiated automatically due to signal loss. Forums are replete with stories how this has caused countless crashes.
Good reviews for parrot anafi, the only good about this i think capable to look up that really nice
They should have named that thing the Wobbly Goblin. It hovers all crazy like it’s drunk. Great video though!
the RTH is set to a minimum of 20m meaning if it is lower than 20m it fly up to 20m then RTH ..not what some people think that it will drop from whatever height your flying at above 20m ...if your at 60m and you RTH it will stay at 60m all the way home that’s my understanding
As per the manual, that is correct.
Sure hope they come up w. a spherical panorama option ... perfectly suited with gimbal that swivels 180 deg. up/down ... so you get a complete sphere of pics to stitch ...
Parrot could include that, but in may end up being an "in-app" purchase.
Very nice demo. Happy Flying
I expected so much more, after the hype, from this drone. The Mavic Air still seems to be a better drone over all.
RobFozney am getting an air soon
It seams. But only seams. I have it too. And more: it is spyware because you have to do a login to fly. And more! At 500 yards anyone can listen you flying this noisy drone

I have Mavic Air. Terrible drone very noisy, fiew authonomy too. I will sell it promptly.
There are no NFZ restrictions.
NFZ stands for No Fly Zone
Seemed that people should learn to appreciate the amazing camera. DJI's small cameras can not be compared at all when it comes to dynamics and noise !!!
but the DJI can shot raw brackets... weird this guy cant
The power up remind me of those security drone in the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion.
hello captain drone I bought a Parrot anfi and it crashed in the house banging up and down then slambed into the roof with crash guards on ...? so i sent it back got another one coming tomorrow.
Well done..! Liking it. Is this Parrot discontinued...? I’m seeing them selling currently in 2021
I think they still sell a version of it.
You have excellent instructional videos on the Parrot Anafi. In fact they help me to decide to purchase an Anafi drone to use on my Landscape Photography TH-cam channel. Thanks for the in-depth information.
Great, thank you Shawn. Glad you are enjoying the ANAFI.
I like Natural. The HDR the grass is way to fake looking green. Best Buy has this on clearance for under $600 with the extra Batteries but I think I might still go with Dji 2
As soon as I saw that it came with a "SUPER User Manual" I was Sold... 💯
I just bought one of these. It powers up with one push which I don't like. What's up with that?
Thinking of buying me this bird... first choice was an Mavic mini, but as the app wont install on my Moto G5 im looking for a other small drone.
Would really like to see a range test and low light
Glad i got the mavic air
Looks good, I think pretty decent drone. Not sure though I would get it yet, maybe wait til the next version with the added features that you suggested- hopefully will be added. In the mean time loving my Bebop 2 and its features added last year. Cheers and a great review. Thanks. :)
I love my Parrot Anafi, only issue I can think of is the range on the WiFi
I also have the anafi and for me, the range is decent, when there isn't any obstacle, i got some 3+ km distance no problem but if the drone is behind some tree, the range is like 500/600 meters.
feuauxpoudres wow, that’s awesome range, even with my phone on airplane mode I will get error messages of weak WiFi at very short range and further out I loose video signal, but that may be due to all the homes nearby
Great Video Captain Drone....
I was confused why they wouldnt include the follow me mode for 1€ and make it a seperate purchase considering how little money it is but now I found they were greedy in the past and just made it cheaper while still keeping it a seperate purchase
Exfat and fat format is different, all 16gb sd card can read at many device, but over 16gb that use exfat format only can open at certain device
Hi There Captain Drone I just bought the Parrot Anafi ..on Amazon let you know how get on here in the UK Nice video buddy well done..
How'd you find it?
So... after a few weeks of the Anafi, Evo, Air...... whats the score? I see the Anafi is closer to the Spark but for ease of flight, stability and image quality...
Well they certainly all have their plus and minus. Some are better than others in certain categories.
Here's the thing... I hate the fact that all these drones rely on the use of a phone. Is there not anything out there that does not rely on a $500 phone?
Nothing to do, in terms of image quality, quality of production and design, the Anafi is far superior to the Spark.
Comparing between Hubsan Zino pronplus which best choice
Very informative. Thank you Sir.
Quick question does it have sensors like some of the DJI?
Yes, except no obstacle avoidance.
Thanks for the update. I was unaware the price had dropped.
Thanks for you time, great presentation.
Thanks for the reply! Nice Review- but we want more! LOL I would to see the Mavic Air and Anafi side by side in a flight stability test.
you are right both drones have their pro and cons. i bought the anafi and i am very pleased. i hope many people buy anafi because its a very good drone and it is our advantage as customers that there is competition on the market.
This is an amazing review I enjoyed so much helped me take the decision
Glad I watched this video, was just about to buy one, wont bother now, maybe if it was $300 , will go for the Mavic, a far better drone I reckon and not that much more
Loving the Autel Evo can't wait till she comes . Great vid thank you 💙👌
Always enjoy your videos.
This is an old video. Today, the best drone available for the $$ is the DJI MAVIC AIR 2.

2. Parrot - ANAFI Extended Drone with Skycontroller - Dark Gray (Includes 3 Batteries) $599 w/tax $635
3. Any better deal you would recommend in the $600 or under range ?

Great job Sir!! Keep them coming :-)
Interesting! Not sure I would want it to auto record on take off. With 16 GB card and filming in 4k what a waist of Data. Is there a option to turn off this. Thanks
Yes, you can have set to only record when you actually hit the record button.
Thanks for letting us know about the problem reading the sd card for your Mac. How did you get around this, or were you forced to load it on a PC?
It's $280 in Ireland. Had to order one :)

"It has full of holes so it's not protected from the elements, the motor is can be seen as well."
is actually desgined FOR...
Yes, same here
Great review, are you also reviewing the new Yuneec Typhoon H Plus?
I'd like to but it is so darn expensive. I'd have to purchase it myself, but can't justify that expense.
silbay, hahaha, then Steve can stop dronereviewing, they all fly and are using the same tech....
Have there been any firmware updates? Has the cost of "follow me" changed? Just watched another video about saying the cost was $.99. Range on it? Love your honest 'real world/experience' reviews!
Thank you! There has been a firmware update. For now the in App purchase is between a dollar and two dollars depending on where you live in the world.
Thanks for the reply! Planning a follow up video on this?
After a few months of use I'll have a video of my thoughts on the Anafi.
I am so much looking forward to it!
Nice video. I can hear it buzzing. Is it really that loud?
The ANAFI is one of the most quiet drones on the market.
Nice video, I’m not sure if I should get it, I’ll wait for dji to see what they come out with next month
Hello CD. What do you think about the Anafi's pre-set RTH altitude of 20 meters? I really like the Anafi overall, just a bit concerned that the pilot cannot set the RTH altitude as there are many instances where this is not just a luxury, but a necessity (IMO).
I've seen this on other drones. Eventually it will change. 20 meters is not that high.
thank you, really good review!
AND MAJOR PRO IS (drum roller).
Your blades don’t get in your video or photos, especially in a downwind situation.
CAPTAIN DRONE okay. Appreciate the feedback. Will take note.
