I agree, she is great, but it's most likely because she hasn't auditioned for anything major yet. If a director or casting director see's a video of good acting, they can't just cast the person, especially if it's not exactly what they want. If someone is great at comedy, but they are making a drama movie, you have to make them go through auditions. I also act, so I'm not talking nonsense

I never realised how hard this was.
This video gave me a new-found respect for motion capture performers and it's production.
As an animator, thank you so much for mentioning us. Often people think that with mocap, its all the actors work, but they don't understand the hours that go into cleaning up mocap, or completely keyframe animating the action, in order to get it to look like it does in the final result
I have nightmares imagining the hell that the animator on my own project here had to go through to clean up my work LOL!! Portraying this character is just as much animation as it is the actor. Thank you for your work as an animator!!!

It’s so crazy watching this. When I was a kid I was very imaginative constantly outside creating my own world in my back yard, using sticks as pretend weapons, I loved it. But now as an adult I have such anxiety and fear of ever doing something like this, the fear of being embarrassed and looking “ugly”. You were amazing Michelle!

Michelle, you are a PHENOMENAL actor. I almost cried actual tears during the part where your character had to cut off her own arm. Your werewolf transformation was incredible also. The whole thing was just amazing! I am blown away!!!

Even with mo cap there's so much modeling, texturing, rigging, weight painting, motion tweaking, and rendering. Not to mention any motions that do need to be done from scratch.

Watching you do the final scene even without animation or effects made me feel like I was witnessing something so raw and real and I have no idea how you haven’t starred in a movie yet. You, too, can take Richard Dorton's classes with The Mocap Vaults at gomocap dot com! Classes are held in LA and London, with occasional classes in Toronto and specialty cities!
I recently wrote a thesis regarding motion capture and the issue regarding who should recieve the credit when it comes to the actors and the VFX workers for such awards as oscars. As a VFX student who will graduate as a junior, I am glad that you showed how hard both the actors and the animators work for motion capture to work out and be successful! Animation is a very long process and does take a lot of work, but I do hope that the oscars will recognize mocap actors as real actors soon since it truly is! Great video, Michelle!!

She fits in every real life roles (being a FBI agent, police officer, firefighter.....) as if she has been trained for a year and this one was so real. She is just damn talented and determined.
