Matt you should do a video just for fun where you do a tier list of the plays or highlights you’ve had during your years as a pro. It’ll be fun and educational as you can explain your thought processes and movements in each play and why you think each decision taken was good

The 2 minute concept is really out the window😂😂😂 great video. I think cones deserves S teir though
u rite tho
Love to hear your thoughts on
- grip socks
- compression shorts & socks
- smaller v larger shin pads
Hey Ian, even though I am not Matt, I wanted to share some information on compression shorts with you: compression wear in general provide some great advantages. That is why almost all professionals wear them (atleast compression shorts) during all weather conditions. The main benefit of compression wear is that it keeps the muscles warm, which helps to prevent muscle strain and fatigue and thereby reduces the risk of injury.Compression wear can improve blood flow return and oxygenation to working muscles, reducing the time it takes for muscles to repair themselves, and speeds recovery from injury. It also helps relieve pain from muscle stiffness and soreness. Also, compression wear reduces muscle oscillation, which involves small tears in the muscle tissue along with a build-up of lactic acid. Reduction of muscle oscillation allows you to work harder and longer while minimizing pain.
Now, those are generally differences that are so marginal that you won't feel them. Yet, I would take every % when it comes to injury prevention and performance benefits, no matter how small the gain. So yeah, you should definitely invest in some good compression wear (most importantly shorts)
@@luk303You got something to tell about shin pads?
@@NEWZ_EDITZ honestly, no. I do not know much of the topic. In my years of playing my shin pads never really had to "guard" my shin. Maybe I was just lucky, but also with teammates I do not recall an accident involving shins. However, what happens more frequently is that you get hit on your ankles. Maybe an ankle pad or protective tape is more needed than shin pads... but what do I know lol
I’ve always worn shin pads with the ankle support. These stupid little trading card size pads people wear are ridiculous. Leave the ankle completely unprotected, and just asking for a career ending injury imo 🤣
Great tier list but personally I would’ve put cones in the S tier just because it’s so beneficial. you can do over 1000 different drills with it, instead of buying other equipment like speed ladders or passing arcs you can just use cones to implement them. Love this video btw keep up the good work 💯
But can just use shoes or socks instead
@@maratstepanyan584 You can pack 50 cones in a small bag, and for like, $20. Can't do that with shoes or socks
@@rousseau327 but when would you use 50 cones? Ronaldhino drill?
@@ThePhantomCoder That's not my point. My point is, if you compare having the same number of cones versus shoes, socks, or some other common item, the cones take up less space, and much easier to carry around. You may not need 50 cones, but most of the cheap disc cones come in a 20-pack, which is easily used up if you set up multiple drill areas at the same time. Carrying around 20 pairs of socks will take up much more space.
@@rousseau327 yeah good point

List is pretty much spot on 👏🏾. I remember growing up we use to use jumpers for goal posts, trainers as cones and even chalk drawing goals on walls. If you are not able to even afford cones, hurdlers and so on you can still improve and train well by being creative. Great vid Mr Sheldon 💪🏾
gotta love a 14 minute 2 minute tuesday 😂😂

@@jaidenarias5912 What denomination are you?
You forgot the dumbbells!
For me the most important and also cheap is:
1)Ball
2)Cones
3) Dumbbells
4) Band
5) Foam roller ( you can use a football)
Played at the club level, used a lot of training equipment in team practices. But overall I preferred a minimalistic approach to training paraphernalia. All I want is a ball, a field, and a goal. And I'll get to work.
came back to this vid and ended up buying hurdles for my setup... love having them at home. also double up as a great training and exercise tool for my dog. its a win win. thanks Matt
Matt, having used all kinds of cones, I’ve found that the flat, white leather 9” ones are the best both from an organisational point and storage point as being flat and flexible means players are not impeded if they accidentally fall on them. As for poles, I’ve always put old training tops tied to the tops to replicate real players or if I haven’t poles, I’ve actually used players to act as impassive ‘defenders’ . These help players to recognise real match problems in training.
The BIG problem with cones is that most coaches use them in ‘drills’ but then don’t remove them and repeat the drill which then translates into match play.
I’ve also used tape tied to two poles when playing Head/Volley Tennis as you can adjust the height of the net
Loooooooove Matt's videos I am beyond thankful for the way he's shaped my mindset and how I train
Wow! Such a nice list and being so helpful!
Good start to list. Few items could go in different categories but opinion based I understand. Other items.. stem, cupping, grasten tool, Ball and wall of some type is spot on ( log u used , 3 sided wall, ) kids lack creativity in seeing this around them. Love following your journey.
Great video Matt keep up the hard work
Great information like always, thank you so much💪🏽
We get A lot help for you bro keep it up and thx 🙏
I love when I am learning about a soccer related topic or skill and I find one of Matt’s videos. I trust his opinion and it’s nice not having to go through 10 different videos trying to figure out what is correct and what’s not.
Great video keep going Matt!!!

Feels like you always drop the video I’m looking for when I need it 🤯 at 10:00 video on how you use the massage gun after training? I have one too but I never really feel like I’m using it right lol and good luck this Friday ❤️
This vid was so nice and clear I just discovered u and I feel like I'm gonna watch alot of ru vids
This is a great idea! Haha more of these style videos!
This was a great video! Pt 2 plz
We use the waist rebounders at our club for juggling practice, and independent practice at home, especially in the winter when you need to be practicing inside. Saves all sorts of lamps windows etc. This is for under 15 and below.
Matt, could you do a video about sand training, your experience, any researches etc.?
You can find a lot of those in the channel
Bro great video 💯 keep it up.
It is a very usefull video for me, thanks!
Quality vid Matt
Best stuff! thanks Matt
Simple cones can mimic so many things with a bit of creativity, and a foam roller is definitely enough when it comes to self-massage tools.
Thanks really good info
Nice list. But I personally would put the ladder higher in the tier list considering what made it to the upper tiers. I found it helps a lot with mind muscle co-ordination, physical conditioning and movement essential to prepping touch, close quarter footwork and skills required to get out of tight spaces. The higher intensity you perform the drills, the better you will be. Largely beneffited my indoor game let alone outdoor where you have more space and time.
This video was lit we need part 2

You should do one of these lists for gym equipment like barbells, dumbbells, machines etc for footballers.
I guess but he’s not a bodybuilder he’s a footballer
Im loving the 14 min tuesdays I can listen to Matt talking for hours
Matt, just came across your videos. Thanks for the posts. I was surprised - you used the same wall in Karori. Didn't realise you were in NZ
Cool this was so fun to watch
Great video, it’s little things like this that can push you ahead of others that are training just as hard, subscribed too👌🏻 which football clubs have you played for?
Nice video. I agree with most but I would put kickbacks (wall) at the top. It has and continues to be the number one tool, not only for me, but for my player training sessions. Also, for sure the ball. Match balls all day every day.
best football channel ever
keep it up champ!
When I lived in Greenville South Carolina, I joined a sports club that had wood panel walls in the gymnasium. It was a great workout and unbelievably fun.
Awesome video

Thanks man I was very curious to as what I can. I think you’ve made me realized that I don’t need fancy stuff to be the best I just need train hard
Amazing vid
Love this 😀
i used waist elastic band when i was 8-9 and it helped me learn juggling and passing. if ur just starting its really usefull
Agreed with all except the tennis net. Would put it in a tier because it can also be used as a mini goal
Matt, I'm a big fan of your work, it's a blessing for young (and not only) ballers to have you in this 98% YT shitty contents. Wish you an amazing season with Tulsa, peace!
Really good video.
Matt You Are An inspiration For me, I made my Football Channel after getting Inspired by you
from Kenya, thanks for the insight
Hey Matt, what if you started a new series where every week, or when you have spare time, you made a video discussing a topic that is trending that week ? I’d think it be cool to see your pov on any football topic or any topic in general. Hope to see it if you like the idea
hey! i loved the video
Good video, can you do flat cones and a rebounder for next video?
Love you brother ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This video idea is 10/10 👌🏾
This video looks spicy
you should do training drills tier list, for example the pointless ones you see in instagram could be at the bottom and the essential ones at the top.
For your next 2 minute tuesday, you should teach us how you make your coffee in the morning. Was your cofee on the last video a Macchiato? I enever manage to pull that one off.
Hey Matt, what are your thoughts on the new USL 1 league? What are your goals with a whole new league being brought to America? Thank you! Love the Vids!
This waist thing is for me as 14 years old boy so good, you shoot, and it’s a little random where it comes back to get 1 touch.
You should do a vid of you ranking different types of workouts and talking about how beneficial they are for soccer
Matt King👑
What do you think about player maker sensors? Does it help individual training and development in anyway especially for youth semi-pro player?
Good list. Would only disagree with the SKLZ solo trainer. There’s nothing better for mastering air-trapping for U16 and below.
I would have added the sled. Not sure why it’s not used as much for soccer but great for building acceleration and transition speed.
easy replacement for a finisher net, is to put a field hockey or 2 lacrosse goals in the middle of the soccer goal
I dont recommend the portable wall type things because a bumpy wall will force you to pay more attention to how you pass the ball while a flat board will just perfectly bounce back the ball. Only use this if you don’t have a more bumpy or unpredictable wall to practice on, or need a portable wall to play with at your field.
Could you make a video like this but rank lower body gym exercises
This was nice video. However, I would place bungee cord in second best place for training equipment 🙏👍👍. Your video quality is fantastic. I appreciate the fact that u make videos linked all big and small aspect of football
Hey Matt, can you please make a video about how to treat injury’s since you said ice and the rice method isn’t the best way, then what should we do, what’s the best way in ur opinion.
Thanks boss....✌@ peace and love
Matt do a reaction video on football games or players as well

Hi Matt,
Due to the pandemic, my place is lockdown at the moment so I wonder between 3x3 and elite 90 program which is suite me at the moment? Hope to get your response soon, cause I really care about these programs. Thank you
DO PART 2!
Enjoy the vid.... My sons and a re enjoying the channel and the vidoes. My question: What is a "match level ball". I took that to heart about having some good soccer balls to train. Size 5. Pleaes provide some "requirements" for a match grade ball including price range if you can. Thanks...
Hey Matt, stumbled across your channel a few months back. Really great insight into your journey and playing career.
Other equipment you could rank are Dome Cones, Coloured Disc's, Bibs, Bosu Ball, Tactics Board, IPad, Grip Socks etc.
Keep doing your thing bro.
All you really need is a ball and a hard working mentality👍
2 minute tuesday 😂😂😂😂. BTW loved it
These videos help people like me who got lesser money. Thank you
Hey Matt I was wondering which grip socks you recommend training with. I am looking for something comfortable and affordable
Hi, thank You for the video. I want to add something about altitude training mask. If you hear Prof.Buteyko Breathing Method, you know how critical is body CO2 carbondioxide. Altitude training mask actually aims CO2 tolerance. Making exercise harder and decrease workout itself is actually not the aim. Cell/tissue oxygenation is critical but key player/unlocker is CO2. Without CO2, more O2 is just wastage, it will transit in blood without passing to cells/tissues and make muscles/organs cells crave for Oxygen. Abnormal CO2 threshold is normal in the modern days. If you train restriction about air intake/out, first your primary workouts will be less effective. If you can be patient enough, and stick to get tolerance to increased level of CO2 due to restricting the holes of input (training mask is just one of the tools, you can use your fingers to reduce your nose holes, you can use paper/plastic bags with some holes you open etc), you will soon boost your extraction of O2 from blood to your tissues (Verigo-Bohr Effect for search), your performance will be in another level due to You will unlock a new feature of Your body. This is the secret of a training mask or similar restricting device. Maybe due to popularity you heard Oxygen Advantage (root is Buteyko Breathing, OA is like re-packining for me it seems) and you see they will manipulate their breath (CO2) to gain performance for their games professionally. You can search detailed explanation Arthour Rahkimov website youtube channel for training mask. I highly recommend most recent most advanced new device ayo bt+ boost from aimwellbreathing company. Unlike mask, it is electronic mask, restricter in many levels, it can record/graph all in/out each breath with numbers so you dont need to assume CO2 exercise, it is like dashboard in a car. Hope you will go inside of your body and find the golden mind inside which is CO2, your body is producing these goldens but the problem we are not holding inside! Have a nice day. Regards from Turkey.
Part two please:
1. Tennis ball
2. Ankle weights
3. Dumbell
4. Skipping or jump rope
Thank you :)
