Hello! I would like to say that your video gave me wonderful insight and information about the Badlands National Park and thanks to you my visit there was wonderful!
Thank you for doing this video! I took a solo trip to the badlands and met a local native woman she owns a cafe in the grasslands (mobile home). I met some people at an overlook and we decided camp together that night. We went back to the "cafe" and the woman gave us permission to drive on her land, while closing all fence gates as we crossed endless prairie w lots of cattle we camped at an amazing overlook. We set up camp, hiked down into the Badlands and lost our minds! I had the most spiritual conversions w my new friends throughout the night. Said goodbye in the AM and I never saw them again. It was one the most wonderful, unexpected and deep experiences of my life. All I have to remember my experience are some pictures on my wall and photo album. You brought me back to 2000 when a rite of passage experience in the Badlands changed my life. I thank you soooo much for making this video!
There's nothing more fun (usually) than going on a road trip with your family. I wish that so many young people who are all freaking out and wasting their youth fussing about big issues they can't possibly expect to have an effect upon and instead get busy seeing the good old USA. I took a bus trip across the USA from San Francisco to Atlanta when I was 19 and it changed my whole attitude about things. In San Francisco we are so arrogant as to imagine everything is completely crowded like the Bay Area all the way because we were told there were too many people and we were destroying everything only to find that there's way more empty space than anything else. College kids are getting a completely insane picture of the country that ruins their future happiness unless they wise up in time. Sorry I philosophized. Lovely family and charming video. I was just reading about the Badlands in Laura Ingalls Wilder's book "Those Happy Golden Years" and became intensely curious about them, and yours was the first or second video that came up. I guess your kids must be in middle school/junior high by now....one of them anyway..... Good job.
Absolute natural beauty. You do not have to go to foreign countries. You can spend a lifetime here in the lower 48 states! I hope these beautiful areas are here for generations to come!
Just caught this. My wife is from Rapid and got back Sunday. Saturday we were on video chat outside of Wall looking at land. What does she do then takes a photo of her sister and friends at the Badlands and Buffalo 20 feet from the road. She knows how to hurt me. There is so much more to South Dakota than Mount Rushmore. I think you guys know that very well from the video. Well done.
You are so right! I hope if you are looking for land that you find some and can then come and enjoy this amazing place whenever you want!! 😊 Thanks for watching our video!
Agreed!! Definitely a must. I went there this summer and loved it!! I made a vlog on my channel for it and it honestly couldn’t capture the beauty of seeing it in real life
wendy noble You won’t regret! Beautiful stop as you travel thru across the northern sections of our country. We are heading that way in a few days, 9-12-18!
Leaving Tokyo late afternoon on one day in May, crossing the international date line, arriving on the same day noon time at Denver International Airport, changing planes, arriving late afternoon at Rapid City Regional Airport... It's a long trip....Thank you for your reply.
98powerjoke definitely late spring! You can avoid the summer crowds and heat, see baby animals like bison, and watch things green up nicely. If you do come 1500 miles, be sure to add in stops at Wind Cave and Devils Tower as well!

I went to the badlands as a teenager and it was an amazing experience. We camped and watched a meteor shower and an awesome lightning storm.
OutofDoorsTV awesome! Some of the best lightning storms are out on the prairies! Love that you remember the trip so well!! 😊
Thanks for the video ! We'll be visiting this June :)
You're welcome! June is such a great time to visit - before the summer heat and usually a very green time of year. Have a great and safe trip! :)
Beautiful. I'll be visiting next spring.
skytd915 oh good! Spring is our favorite time in the Badlands. Less crowds and still warm days! Thanks! Have a fun time. 😊

What’s the best time to travel I’m thinking about motorcycling up this summer or spring and wondered it’s 1500 mile trip for me one way
