My parents and I found ourselves in Spearfish one evening on our way to Minnesota in 1954 . Dad stopped at a gas station to ask where we could find a hotel or Inn to spend the night . A man got up and came to our car and told us there weren’t any rooms in town but we could follow him home and put us up there ! In the morning his wife fixed us breakfast and the family refused to take any money for their hospitality! I’m 76 now but never forgot that !

This is obviously produced by someone from a big city who values things many folks in South Dakota don't. Just because you like sports teams, weird big city food and other urban "amenities" doesn't mean everyone does. Talk about being judgemental! Yes I've been to South Dakota, and I loved it. Try and catch large trout or see beautiful scenery in NYC or LA, ain't gonna happen.

I spent most of my life living and working in Chicago and the metro area. I loved the food while there and was a rabid sports fan of all its teams. I was born and raised in Sioux Falls and moved back here 9 years ago. I spent most of my life in dome of the biggest cities and think Sioux Falls the best. Not too small and not big at all, even though it’s growing like gang busters. The food here is good enough for me with plenty of fine restaurants. I don’t miss the professional teams in Chicago but still feel an allegiance for them. One thing about Chicago and Illinois is it’s corruption. It’s the worst kind that destroys everything. It’s one reason I left and glad I don’t live there anymore.

When it comes to food you must be from the city. In South Dakota if you want good food you go hunting. Like with a rifle, shot gun or bow. Then you cook it yourself. Mule Deer, White tail deer, Antelope, Turkey, Pheasant, Quail, Ducks, Dove, Rabbit, if you are real lucky Bison and Moutain Goat. Bow season, Shot Gun season, and Rifle season, so you can hunt year around. Who wants to eat beef, pork or chicken in South Dakota?

10 Reasons why you should move to South Dakota if you are Conservative Entrepreneur. 1. Great for retirement or people that want a slow life style. 2. Great opportunity to start a restaurant if you are a chef and an entrepreneur. 3. There are no jobs so its a great place for a digital nomad 4. If you are a digital nomad you can spend your summers where you want. Rent your house or apartment on Airbnb. 5. Get a pick up truck. 6. Spend your winters in Florida. This is what Canadians do. 7. Learn defensive driving skills. Don't go out late at night. 8. Open up a Casino and profit from their gambling addiction. 9. If you are not a conservative Republican live somewhere else. 10. Find what repels the bugs and spray your home or wear the scent on you so the bugs leave you alone.
