Kinda wish I had watched this before changing out my driver's side 2006 last night. I think in the hatchback, it's easy to get in there through the little removable panel, but I wouldn't have had to crawl in the trunk and woke up with a kinked neck had I just removed those rivets and the whole panel the way you did! haha. Thanks for the helpful video. I'll take out rivets on the other side when I do the passenger side today.

I DROPPED MY BULB DOWN THE GAP! I have a hatch and bought led replacement bulbs. One of the bulbs for the indicators fell into the abyss of the inside part of my Mazda 3 down near bumper and wheel well.
