  • On April 1, 2021, the Boston Chapter of ASA sponsored an April Webinar by Professor Andrew Gelman. The webinar was given virtually which was based on his paper with Aki Vehtari regarding the most important statistical ideas in the past 50 years.

    I love what he says about machine learning & basic statistics. To paraphrase, "On one hand, you have all these amazing things that machine learning can do, like self-driving cars, but you'll need a statistician to tell you if the number of people the being killed by the self-driving cars is statistically significant." :D :D
