Thanks so much Charles. Notifications didn't work for me but I hope to catch you from the beginning next time. Your skill has been an astounding revelation in human ability. But your attitude and humor, are the human element I'm sure most find just as, if not more, delightfully engaging.
I dig seeing you casually playing with your signature bass. I finally got mine in the summer so I've had some time to play it as well. Today I took out the original strings to try out the flat wounds I bought when I picked up the bass. I really like them as they hide my bad technique by being so silent when changing position. 😄 I consider myself a beginner and only play with Rocksmith 2014, been doing that for some years now. Great fun and it seems I am actually making some progress as well. Keep up the awesome work you do.
You've inspired me to get back into practicing and playing bass again and i'm going to upgrade to a 5 string bass, thanks for helping me start back again, rock
And i'm not gonna lie, the only reason i use a pick because that's how I started plus i'm also a guitarist too and i'm very slow at the other techniques and pick is faster and more comfortable for me, still rock on and keep inspiring
There was Davie504, and then Charles. At first, I thought no one would play like Davie. But you are way ahead of any other bass guitarist in the world now.
Bros. first of all my comment was mainly for fun. Secondly, I began to listen to bass solos after knowing davie504. Davie introduced Victor Wooten, Charles berthoud and other bassist to me and many people like me. I know VW and other standalone bassist were there before davie, but he was the one, who introduced a single instrument and great players of it to millions of people with his persona and interesting videos. Now I feel myself closer to Charles' video styles because the video content davie produces do not excite me as before. But these people are not on youtube for fun. They make a living here. So if it is the way he earns more, I respect that. I am 41 yo, and this has been a boring comment I know, but these are the things I wanted to say.
Athens 19 min mark i am wishing I had the light spectrul flow in the rhythm that would be so awesome. Even for stage probs. If there is designated lanes for directing the crowds locations for the live video replays. Havinge the paths lit up showing a design from the air drone photage. Would be kinda cool.
I would like to know the name of that song that was played at chapter 54:15, that had a very nice melodic sound and I may wanna try and learn it in the future
Seriously, you’re making yourself way too much work. I’d be happy just watching you practice and goofing around. leave all the errors in, no editing required 😊😊😊
"wait.. we in here talking about practice. I mean, listen: We talking about practice. Not a game. Not a game. Not a game. We talking about practice. Not a game. Not the game... Not the game. We talking about practice, man."
FYI Shamisen. 3 most common tunings are: CGc, CFc & CFA# with much regional variation but as long as top is an octave above bottom or there about its probably cool. I tried these on my 3 string & played it with a spatula but its fretted so it didn't sound great - well that's my excuse. I don't understand why you never play Stanley Clarke. Stanley was the main inspiration for both Marcus and Victor. He was the first bassist to tour as a lead bassist with a whole band built around the bass. It's there a reason you don't seem very interested in his material

Good job playing, Charles! I loved watching you live!
Lovely idea to copy the arpeggiator 👍👍. You are indeed a machine when you need to be!
Pulling teeth was my favorite song for decades. Then i herd you play the base and it's just made me a major fan of yours

Charles, you are simply a bass genius!❤

Requesting "Pull up to my bumper" by Patra. I think you'll love the bass line.

Never thought I'd ever see anyone else reference that again 💪🏽😂
@elissava5959 ;
What are your go to pedals? Just starting to build my collection.
Charles is the kind of guy to launch his signature pedals one day.
Hey Charles!
Did you learn anything from Rick Beato while you were there?
how can we get notifications in advance????
