Hubs and I took this same flight in April 2023. The SQ cabin crew was so lovely and attentive. Hubs had cut his finger prior to boarding and the flight attendant brought him over a nice first aid kit. This flight was part of a DPS-SIN-EWR journey and it didn’t take any more miles to add SIN to the trip. This time we were in business class on the MAX and I commented how much nicer the hard product is than US airlines domestic first. The gentleman in front of us nodded in agreement. Hope you liked Bali. It was fantastic, except for the traffic.
These MAX 737's seem to be a real problem. While this was the 8, I know you would have heard about the Alaska 9 incident last Friday. I see the Winglet on your plane was held on with Duck Tape! Another very good video, well done Jayden!
"what are you doing today"? Well, my boyfriend and I are going to fly from Bali to Singapore for lunch and dinner with friends and just fly home, TO AUSTRALIA! What a life!!! 😀❤
hahaha! Worker out to be cheaper than Qantas or even LCC. Qantas and Garuda don’t leave til late evening meaning we would need to pay an extra night at the hotel. Most LCC plus bag fees🤣
That was a really good flight review you made Jayden! I've flown on SQ 4 times (2 737MAX's and 2 A350's) and I very much enjoyed the Singapore Airlines hospitality! I personally enjoyed the 737 experience a lot and found the seat extremely comfortable. Even though in one of my own SQ trip reports I said one of the meals wasn't great, I found most of the food to be delicious. Also on a side note, I happen to work at Cairns Airport and I saw 9V-MBE arrive and depart the other day for the Cairns to Singapore flight! Looking forward to seeing their A350's come into Cairns soon too, you should fly on it! Anyways great video mate!
Aw, always great to see such lovely crew! The small touches on Singapore airlines truly makes it a world class airline. A little side note, but the Christmas wreaths are such a nice fit. As 6,4" said, Singapore Airlines is like any other full service airline, but some touches make SQ better.
Funny how you guys love Singapore Airlines...today I flew into Cebu via SQ 900 and they recently started flying the a350 here instead of the max hence I NVR flew the max once...but yes service and product is def back to her glory including hot towels...❤always love your videos Didi but this one is def one of your best!
Great video! A perspective to consider about relatively recent changes on Singapore Airlines: It is with great regret that the new recent in-flight SQ meal presentation in Economy class, which started during pandemic era, does not look appetising nor elegant anymore, as also shown in the video. While I could understand the need to reduce surface contact, cost-cutting measures, etc. during pandemic years, it is hoped that SQ could return the sophisticated meal presentation towards pre-pandemic SQ standard. Previously, SQ meal presentation looks elegant, high-class, proper, well-thoughtful in every presentation aspect so as to have a luxurious feel even on a short one-hour Jakarta-Singapore flight. This compliments other aspect of world-class SQ brand. For instance, in every Economy class pre-pandemic SQ meals consists of: proper metal cutleries set only, a refined white-colour plate for the main dish with aluminium foil lid, a transparent classy glass cup, small cylindrical pre-packed mineral water or orange juice, additional coffee/tea offering by stewardess in a proper transparent cup, as well as rounded bread offering, basic seasoning: salt pepper butter, two finest white-colour square plates for the side dishes with transparent lid showcasing their contents: chocolate cake / desserts / green salad / two or three types of colourful fruits. All of these are placed against darker-colour tray, enhancing its colour contrast. Exquisite indeed! However, nowadays as also shown in the flight review above, for Economy class in-flight meal, cheap-looking brown takeaway cardboard box is used instead. No more metal cutleries on some flights route. To a certain extent, that is not how it supposed to look for a reputable five-star full service airlines with strong legacy. In addition, many components as described above are removed and, on some flight, dark-coloured thin cheap-looking plastic plate is used for the main dish instead. A comparison of current SQ in-flight meal presentation with pre-pandemic SQ Economy class meals or with other five-star airlines competitors such as Emirates reveals how disappointing and dissatisfying it is. It is hoped that SQ could return the sophisticated Economy class meal presentation again once pandemic impacts becoming more manageable in a foreseeable future.
Gave me a very good insight too Singapore Airlines. I fly Cathay a lot too New York, so Melbourne too New York via Hongkong. Never flown singapore but planning to fly on them this year! Great review as always Jayden, can't wait for another.
your viewer/ instagram viewer was correct about the SQ B737 Max 8 being better than an A321neo from Philippine Airlines. In the future this SQ B737 Max 8 will have a rival in the region in the form of Eva Air (長榮航空) A321neo. If that were to happen SQ B737 Max = BR A321neo = CX A321neo > PR A321neo. Meal wise SQ does have the Singaporean flavours which makes it better than the other carriers even putting Filipino cuisine a run of its money. If one compares SQ935 meal sizes to SQ918/910 SIN-MNL or the B737 Max 8 route to the Philippines SQ901/900 SIN-CEB the latter two gets an actual meal tray instead of the boxes. Excellent trip overall Jayden and Happy New Year
Hope you enjoyed your short layover in Singapore. It’s nice to see our Singapore icon (SQ) creating a great experience for you and 6’4. I last went to Bali in Oct 2022, via SQ to DPS, and via KL back to SIN. I’m curious what’s the carry-on luggage that 6’4 carried?
Great video as always, but I have a question not related to the video itself. Jayden, how is it that your hair is always on point and nicely styled?! Haha!! 😆😆
15:35, $130 for 1 way for a 2 hour flight to Singapore is a little expensive. Scoot is cheaper to fly than any low cost carrier. I always fly the cheapest flight because it's the only option.
Great video, Jayden! I was surprised that you didn’t need to throw away your water at security. I’m just so used to that here in the US. Glad you found the Max comfortable. I was taken aback by the meal presentation though. The boxes seemed a bit difficult to eat from and not up to what I think of for SQ standards, even in economy. Looks like you had a great time in Singapore. I’m hoping to get back there soon.
bro its a regional flight, there is no need for fancy metal cutlery and steak but rather, in long haul flights like from dxb to singapore, they do serve with metal cutlery and all that fancy things yeah
Informative Vlog as always. I have used the lounge In Denpasar airport and found it comfortable but the food was very average. I have done the flight between Bali and Singapore a few times. Hope you guys had a nice time in Bali. Keep up the good work Jayden. Cheers
Hi Jayden I'm a little late but Happy NEW year. What a great crew was on that flight it makes all the different. Good you could catch up with some friends on stopover. Hope you had a good trip home.
A bit late to this video, but lovely review as always, Jayden! I'd personally prefer the SQ MAX over the CX Neo, as I believe the extra legroom would be more beneficial than the comfier well-padded seats for short haul flights. Plus SQ offers free Wifi, and the Boeing sky Interior is just much more airy overall compared to the Neo's airspace cabin. My vote goes to SQ Max. However I'm not a fan of the new packaging for food SQ offers on regional services. Nonetheless, the crew seems phenomenal as expected with SQ.
Great video with Dan once again! 😅 I'm pretty certain the liquid requirements from Bali are only on flights to Australia. I remember at the convenience store after security it said bottles of liquid greater than 100ml couldnt be taken on flights to Australia.
Awesome Video I was wondering if you can do a comparison video of Qantas and Singapore airlines in economy and give an opinion which one is better for international travelling
Yes but you have to pre-order online. Only the chicken and beef were available otherwise. I normally order vegan but since it was short flight I didn't (I order it on long flight for health reasons). I did order it on my second flight to Adelaide :)
Don't worry about the speed tape on the right foward winglet base most aircraft have the temp fix on non structual parts until the parts can be replaced or fixed.
I am currently on my last night, of two, in the Marina Bay Sands. We ate in the same restaurant as you last night. We fly back to Adelaide tomorrow via Kuala Lumpur with a 24 hour layover on Malaysian business class.
I don't know about the security at DPS where they don't ask you to take out the water, which is weird. Singapore Airlines B737 MAX 8 looks very comfortable, the IFE content is also massive. The meal tbh is a major cost cutting for me, but I wouldn't really complain if the meal quality is still amazing, especially both beef goulash and chicken rice looks delicious. Can't really decide which one is better between SQ B737 MAX 8 and CX A321neo, but I think I'd still prefer the CX A321neo because the double seat padding, though the legroom you said is quite tight, but I'm actually quite a short person so I think it wouldn't be that tight. Considering the price, it indeed quite expensive as to compare them with many airlines, especially the LCC one, but I think I'd prefer taking the SQ B787-10 one on this route. Great trip report Jaydenn👍
I wonder if it was a new machine haha, I couldn’t tell. Helsinki was the same in 2022. Although we had to at least take it out from the bag and place it in tray
Singapore airlines only operates the 737 max on short haul flights. The longest flight in their 737 max is from Singapore to Kathmandu which is 5hr and 30mins.Its their newest route and had used to use the b737-800ng but due to the longness that plane only plys the route from singapore to phuket until it stops flying by this june.
I noticed that the Flight map on 737MAX is different to the 787-10. The layout, the graphics. But the 737MAX has the live TV (where you can watch sport and live news).
Asian carriers are known for doing this. It’s because if they have to upgrade/downgrade a/c they don’t have to rearrange everyone since the seat numbers correlate across their fleets. So they simply just move everyone over to the other plane if you will. Its genius really, not sure why more airlines don’t do it
Flew 737-8 Phuket to Singapore. Out of 4 flights on Sin during this holiday this was the best flight. Great space and comfort. 777-300 LHR to Sin was 2nd best. A350-900 on regional flight to BKK was only ok. Worst flight was A380 SIN-LHR. Cramped and uncomfortable with flight crew constantly bumping customers in aisle seats. Very disappointed
Interesting that the A380 was the first, that being said I never sat on the aisle side of the plane. And when I did fly SQ A380 the service took forever haha
13:45, Cathay pacific because it has the best In flight entertainment than Singapore airlines and it's a winner, even though Cathay Pacific is a 4 star airline.
Noticed they do that in other airports as well. Probably for security reasons (ie ground crew sneaking in explosives or other substances onto the plane)
Hi Jayden, I got a question - Is 737 MAX 8 dangerous to fly with? Also My son will have a long flight today from Vancouver to Cancun with a horrible charter airline Flair and on 737 MAX 8 and I am beyond myself from worry.
10:50, Same for me when I download the Singapore airlines app, before the flight. When I fly Singapore airlines to connect the wifi, I can't use it, even though I registered to be a member, which sucks.

Cathay 321neo seat is so narrow, leg room is so small. Tbh i prefer good old Virgin Australia 737-800 than 321neo from Cathay because of the leg room

13:45, Cathay pacific because it has the best In flight entertainment than Singapore airlines and it's a winner, even though Cathay Pacific is a 4 star airline.
The chicken looked good.
8:32 sicepat sticker was removed from that citilink A320neo PK-GTK on january 2024
How interesting at 4:58 that they're frisking the ground crew. Any idea why?
Noticed they do that in other airports as well. Probably for security reasons (ie ground crew sneaking in explosives or other substances onto the plane)
Hi Jayden, I got a question - Is 737 MAX 8 dangerous to fly with? Also My son will have a long flight today from Vancouver to Cancun with a horrible charter airline Flair and on 737 MAX 8 and I am beyond myself from worry.
i have flown the Max 6 times Singapore to Da Nang never had a problem funny wing tips great flight.
nothing to worry about! Governments won't let it fly if it's not safe. The only thing I would worry about is the legroom on Flair!
Would love to try both SQ B737 MAX and CX A321neo soon :)
7:39 is that duck tape on the winglet? 😂
haha technically it's speed tape
@@JaydenWong omg $500 a roll?
10:50, Same for me when I download the Singapore airlines app, before the flight. When I fly Singapore airlines to connect the wifi, I can't use it, even though I registered to be a member, which sucks.
If it's 737 Max, I'm not going...so it must be CX A21N for me 🤣
6 ft 4 and 5 ft 2
even my mum taller than 5’2😭😭😭
If it wasn't so salty the beef goulash is perfect......👍
