I have a lizardfolk character who, after a skirmish where I exploded their shaman with a firebolt, ended up negotiating a peace with the kobold tribe where I agreed to train three of their children in magic and other skills. My character will kill for those three kobolds now, and the tribe is probably gonna be impossible for the nearby town to ignore in another three or four years.
My Ranger: "Everyone... I have a plan..." *I open my mouth and start hissing as the cavern hisses back* The rest of my party: "Why does he speak Draconic?" "He said something about having to take an elective in school." My Ranger: "They'll let us pass for 100 gold."
"He became their dragon", the best sentence ever. By the way, your Kobolds are adorable. Every time I watch this episode I want to be one/ have one on my team.
I once played a game where a variety of decisions by my party lead me to become the kobold king. We were tasked with recovering a stolen wagon of powdered paints (that as it was revealed the creatures had mistaken for actual silver and gold) The party consisted of a Fighter who loved the lime light as long as he was assured victory. A wizard who frankly was ready to run away at the drop of a pin. And me a rouge who had a love for money and a complex of loving luxury and wanted to be worshiped, like those fancy nobles. Now while tracking we had run into some wolves that were easily taken care of and not ones to shy away from a chance to save or make money we skinned them for their pelts and meat for rations. We eventually found the lair of the little guys only to find that rather than being draconic in appearance this tribe were fur covered leaving them with an almost dog like look to them. The party decided i should scout it out so we fashioned a disguise from wolf skin and hoped the wouldn't question my height or look to closely. I snuck in careful of any trip wires or traps but took a wrong turn and ended up in a chamber filled with them. Thankfully they were dumb.... i mean dumb.... i convinced them i was from another tribe and i wanted to join them and had come to warn them of some adventures on their way. They believed me and in anticipation began to shore up their defences. Its around this time my team began to worry i had not returned and so the fighter ran in screaming dragging a panic stricken wizard with him setting off every alarm on the way. When they arrive they are ambushed and shocked to see me spear in hand behind a make shift barricade with their foes. In the destruction of the ambush i snuck up to the chief who sat comfortably behind all his men a beast of a Kobold rippling muscles covered in jewellery, covering his mouth i slipped my blade between his ribs while his men were clashing with the fighter. I removed his head and held it a loft. The kobolds were shook they stood mouth agape and the fighter used this opportunity to grab the biggest and hold a blade to his neck. With an intimidation check we had hoped they would lay down their weapons and the fight would be done... but they were under the impression i was a kobold and that their chief was unbeatable. So when i barked at them to get down on the ground... to our surprise they bowed. Suddenly my character had all he wanted before him, gold and praise. We persuaded them to give up the paints and used the money from our reward to buy better weapons and armour for the tribe and in time set about absorbing other tibes training them in stealth and combat to assist us in quests to amass more gold. In time my character became so intoxicated by the gold and worship he began to truly believe himself kobold.
This is so refreshing to see. I'm playing a kobold cleric, Garu Greyclaw. And everyday he tries his best to show everyone he meets that Kobolds can be good...by smashing his mace in undead faces.
that story was really cool. I like the idea of being able to develop methods of handling the tiny often subservient bad guy races other than just murdering them. the idea that brokering a small peace in exchange for coin, robes and other various trinkets to the point the kobolds named him their dragon and leader is a cool and amazing end to the story. Following thoughtform; after roscoe passes he could become a minor draconic diety and still help his kobolds in the pass
Rosco Dalton the Kobold King sounds like an amazing NPC I’d love to see. A human leader of a kobold tribe who almost sees himself as a dragon? Give him a pet wyvern and a small hoard shared by the whole tribe and you’ve got some good stuff. Not hostile on sight, maybe even have it be a bustling enough community that the party can help, stay there temporarily, or what else, as long as they can offer treasures for pay, not necessarily gold but actual treasure items.
This reminds me, paying PathFinder, King Maker campaign, we encounter Kobolds who loved blue mushrooms and only saw COPPER as a valuable treasure, NOT Gold. ME as a Druid quickly offered ALL the blue mushrooms we previously encounter and we became friends. I would bring them blue shrooms & copper (all the spare change we had) in exchange of gems and gold they lootes from caves and dungeons around the area. I even BEGGED the GM that I wanted ONE of those Kobolds to join our party as she developed an almost love interest with one specific one, who later became their new leader of the tribe.
I also played that campaign, I had heard that there would be a kóbold tribe somewhere... so I asked my GM to allow me to incarnate a kóbold that was part of that tribe but had strayed back almost a decade ago for matters with the bandits in the area. Did you know that there is a feat in pathfinder that you can get from level 7 called "Leadership" ?, and with it you can have followers and a companion that accompanies you and fights with you (which cannot have a level greater than the level of your character -2). Did they use that feat to represent the Kobold who joined their group?

That was adorable! A lot of the "lesser races" often stay lesser because they're treated as lesser and forced to be lesser. Allowing them to be something more and giving them the chance can actually make everybody's life better.
I used to play a kobold character in a homebrew system (not dnd) and that was awesome!! I was mostly a scout in the party and I never really fought (had a super low hp) but I could sense everything in the caves: secret doors etc.
Just randomly stumbled upon this vid. Absolutely love it. I hate to admit it, but I got a soft spot for kobolds. I love the way you draw and depict them. The story and how you tell it was enrapturing.
Whenever I'm playing d&d I try my best not to kill kobalds. Doesn't matter what character I was playing; from the shinning Paladin to the fighter with a criminal past, I would never kill kobalds. I would either do nonlethal damage to them, or try to convince them to stop fighting. I can't help it, I don't want to hurt the little guys.
Magnificent. The story was awesome, and you have the ability to draw and write all these races of little buggers so cutely and lively that I can`t help but see them in a better light.
0:36 I realize this is a goblin slayer reference, but the resemblance to a PC who briefly joined our party in the Crown of the Kobold King module is uncanny. You see, a very heavily armored fighter arrived late to the dungeon as backup, and everyone quickly realized the average kobold we were fighting could do little but flail ineffectively against his armor. Presumably becoming overconfident from that fact, he went off on his own and stumbled into the throne room of the titular kobold king. Almost before he could act, the king cast a sleep spell on him and immediately commanded one of his personal guard to kill him with a coup de grace. The fighter's armor would do little to save them from that, and I imagine they did end up lying a pool of their own blood just like that. And so ended the tale of Goodie the fighter, after just two sessions. We hardly knew him.

Sending positive, motivational vibes. Stay amazingly knowledgeable!
Wow, that ending. I'm sitting in dumb awe at this video. That was amazing man, please keep it up this quality work!
LITERALLY SAME... which makes the rest of the party... not too happy.
Perfect for a paladin. Morals forever.
That’s pretty cool that the Kobolds did not risk, of the human trader… when they had enough trinkets.. they valued the safety of their human friend..
I loved this, Im a kobold player
And this hear warms my scaly heart.
Magnificent.
The story was awesome, and you have the ability to draw and write all these races of little buggers so cutely and lively that I can`t help but see them in a better light.
the story of the Kobold king is awesome, such a good
would you mind if I would use the character as an NPC for my DnD Campaign I am running
Go right ahead!
Please never stop making content, and I don't just mean the D&D content either you have a amazing voice and natural flow too story telling.

I realize this is a goblin slayer reference, but the resemblance to a PC who briefly joined our party in the Crown of the Kobold King module is uncanny.
I love these videos. I can see how much effort it takes to make such good art and great stories. If someone would make short-stories out of your videos, they'd be a best seller. I hope that your burn out doesn't discourage you too much, because the quality is worth the wait.
.. DAAWWW. They're so PRECIOUS! I wanna hug them.
These are so inspiring. Thank you for all the time you put in to making them. It's encouraging me it look more in to the social side of monsters to help create encounters for my players. Brilliant work :)
Yo is it just me or do The Rock and Dwayne Johnson look almost the same? I wonder if they're twins
I didn't before but know that you mention it they do look suspiciously simmalar, Dwayne the rock Johnson also looks fairly similar.
Hmmmmmm maybe they are
@@kidyomu89 Yeah... I wonder, could they all be related, or just coincidence? I mean they even have similar muscle masses. I don't know...
@@Peztllence yeah, they even star in the same movie franchises as the same characters! Just look at fast and furious? Why aren't people talking about this??
Maybe because their just buff and therefore look the same
Hmmmmmmm. **Looking at a photo of both of them seperatly**
hmmmmmmmmmmm
Took a peek at this channel out of curiosity. Was not disappointed. Really liked the cute art-style and it made the kobolds that much more endearing while the story opened up my mind to possibilities I hadn't considered. Have my like and my sub.
Great! Now I wanna make a Kobold character!!
I don't know HOW I haven't heard of or subscribed to this channel sooner, but here I am!
Loved this story, the art and the style!
Pretty dope story. If I ever get the rare opportunity to come across kobolds not on the to-wipe-out-for pay list, I'll try diplomacy.
this why Kobolds are worthy of being a playable race.
This reminds me of an adventure I was a part of where the group had to pay back a clan kobold refugees that saved our lifes by protecting them from elven aggression while we helped search for the half dragon descendant of their old dragon leader who died holding back a group of high level elfs so the kobolds could escape with their lives
These misguided videos are helping me make my stories
Loved how this story was amazingly original very entertaining it almost makes you like kobolds...but I know better✌️🖖
These are the most adorable drawings of kobalds I’ve ever seen. I love them.
If no one minds, I’m gonna draw kolbolds this way now. I can’t draw draconic biased beings very well, so this may help me get a better handle on it 😁
Kobolds are my favorite, this one made me super happy 😊 Spectacular story of the king, sounds like a great adventure hook origin!
Holy sh*t that last story was good
I beg for more little stories like this, theyre so entertaining with how you draw kobolds
Those Kobolds are soooooo cute >
I absolutely just love your stories, they are so interesting to listen to~
We had a deal god dammit!
Amazing video btw.
(Crippling self-doubt sucks, make sure to take care of yourself)
Your Kobolds are so adorable. I love every single one of them.
0:21 me and my monk? I am the kobold monk.
This was amazing! Also love how the King got sick dreads at the end, plus the kobolt’s are adorable!
We all love you so stop self doubt
“He became their dragon,” that sounds so bada$$ in a way that I cannot properly express. This is an amazing line.
jesus i want to play a campaign you write so bad
I loved the art on this- and now I know what I want to do with my life!
I thought king dalton looked familiar
I loved the video, as always. This kobold king sounds like a great idea for a character in a campaign. Great work on depicting these mythical creatures as more than just dragon fodder!
