- How to replace a riveted lower ball joint in Ford Figo /Fiesta. If you don't have the tools ie grinder and driller, you have change the complete control arm set which is easy and fast but costs more. Ball joint only will cost less than complete arm. It is to decide whether to save some money or save some work.

Better to replace whole arm,but it’s one of the best videos I have seen.
yes that's a batter idea...
Enjoyed watching this! Methodical work, very thorough and precise👏
Thanks mate 😊 made my day.
Nice and easy
Will change mine tomorrow👌👌
Nice and precise job ....one addition....should paint the damage area because corrosion will start.
Yup could paint or spray rust protect.
Loved everything accept how you ground it. Should have used your centre punch to middle it and then just drill the top one off and tap the bottom one through much cleaner
Great video, wished I'd seen this before I did mine!
✌️😁
Hi tanks for the video!
How deep shuld i push in the pall joint ( the tumb) until it stops or before it stops?
Apologies my friend...can you be specific?
@ The metallic part on the ball joint that goes in to the hole 🕳️ . Should one press it in as far as possible?
haa that. just push it in and check through the bolt hole if you can see the cut on ball joint. You need to adjust till the bolt goes in freely. if its pressed in or pushed out more the bolt wont go in.
@ Tanks might👍
Bro make more videos on Figo bro v love ur videos
Sure bro i will and thank you for your kind support.... :)
Agreed!
Hi it's helpful
I want to know about the size of the sockets I must use?
Glad to hear from you mate. You need 13,14,16 and 18 mm sockets for the job.
Very good video
Thanks mate
Would garage rivet out I do rest myself ? No grinder tool
Yes you can
I would even bother with drilling and grinding , for the sake of £20 get the complete wishbone 👍 save yourself the time . Good video 👍
Yup taking time but here the price for complete arm is 5 times the price of ball joint.
@@dailyhandsdiy Exactly!
@@dailyhandsdiy 5 times??? Ball joint costs around ₹600 and complete lower arm(OEM) costs nearly ₹9000 for my 2004 Hyundai Elantra. Pheww!!! So costly
Was specific about Ford. It costs 2.4k for lower arm and ball joint just 500. So 5 times 😅
@@dailyhandsdiy I meant that full lower arm costs really more in few models, so it is better to change only joints and bushes as shown in video
Bro mer ek bal joint kharab aapne jese change Kiya h kardu koi alignment m problem to nhi aayegi
Proper fitment he to koi problem nei hoga.
you're supposed to drill the rivets, increasing the drill bit size until it they get lose. No need for grinding, just hammer out the remaining rivets
If its cold pressed rivet may work but hot pressed one, shank gets filled in all the gaps inside arm and joint. And plus if while drilling with crct shank dia bit, can drill the cntrol arm holes to larger ones or even diverted holes which is a bit risky for the car. And also the time and effort adds up. :)
Bahaut accha mechanic
thnks mate..
@@dailyhandsdiy ap mechanic hai
Part time mechanic hu brother.
Awesome bro following you closely
Thnk you bro.. :)
@@dailyhandsdiy bro upload more videos of ford figo bro
I lack confidence in local mechanic they offen use to cheat
@@dailyhandsdiy they did cheat me for poor pickup & black smoke they told me to replace egr valve instead of cleaning it
So tru bro once i too had been told this but i serviced it myself. And got saved with no expense at all. And will do an egr srvcng soon. 'll keep updated.
@@dailyhandsdiy awaiting bro keep rocking
I managed to replace joints with suspension arm on car, also just ground top of rivets then punched out
The knuckle n rotor was bothering me and don wanna break them so took the arm out.
If company has given rivets so is it so that whole control arm shall be changed?? Company should have given bolts already..I think in Maruti cars there r bolts only..thanks for this..pls make video for changing diesel filter also.. changing sensor in it n pumping diesel is difficult.. thanks
the whole point is to replace the full assembly. And to give 3000 instead of 700 thats ol. And yes all other brand give it bolted. Bro i hav made a video on egr sticking. You can see the filter removal and replacing there....

Hello friend.. from where you bought ball joint. Im from malappuram
Its from focuz parts mart bro. Or could buy from boodmo site. You can get genuine parts.
Bro i have also figo diesel 12 model.i have changed both side balancing rods only due to noise as said by mechanic.now am facing suspension sound when i drive car on high speeds and on speed breakers ,i feel sound ,not alot but half of times
But when mechanic change balancing rods he said strus and all bushes are okkk .no noise from bushes
Bro is that some kindof growlling sound.?
@@dailyhandsdiy bro give ur contact number .i will send u video .if u can't give me number ,my contact number is 7355549394.whats app me
sure bro i will msg asap.
How many bricks did he use to hold the car up?
Its actually 4 😅
Does anyone know if it's dangerous to drive a car with a bad ball joint?
I use my car for work and I don't have enough money to buy the replacement and I'm a bit concerned
Can't say its highly dangerous but will affect the drivablity at higher speeds and wear tire faster. If you are thinking about wheels coming off, don't worry that wont happen.
Neat job👍
Thanks bro :D
@@dailyhandsdiy should we change both ends at a same time?
Depends normally driver side lasts longer than other because passenger side is more into potholes and road sides. Should check both sides, if loose enough, change it or if tight jst change one side.
Where is your shop?
Its in kerala
Good bro.
Bro u shaked rotor up and down or left and ryt for ball joint
Sry bro i din get u.... what exactly do you mean?
@@dailyhandsdiy how did u find the fault of ball joint. After removing tyre how did u check the faulty rotor. Hope u understand my english. And sorry for my poor language
Bro feel free...and yes its left and ryt. Move rotor left and ryt by watching the joints. And dont forget to put 2 lug nuts to secure the loose rotor
@@dailyhandsdiy ok bro thanks
