    Thanks for also paying attention to commercial vehicles which some of us use. Kangoo and e-NV200, loved the comparison as they are the only really available EV vans in Europe. As always great job!

    I think the regen is so strong because cars like this are usually fully loaded
    Also, you don't need that much hp since it would only shake up your the materials you need for your clients.

      @@bjornnyland Haha, yes, but those are usually delivery guys that don't care, but if you got stuff that can't be scratched or anything like it will do those things much less. Also note that these guys drive a lot more then average and often on new and unknown places and you can't look over your shoulder, like in a normal car, which is very annoying in the city.

    Nice video.
    I think this car can make sense in a small fleet of vehicles where they could dispatch the short trip assignments with the Kangoo Z.E., maybe along some e-NV200 for longer distances.

    Drove one that was out for auction. Not a bad driving experience and perfect as a second car replacing an ICE and a trailer for gardening trash, weekend shopping, and bike transport if you don´t need great range. I really would like one, but they are almost as rare as rocking horse shit, also the battery leasing on older cars sucks.

    I'm driving this car since august 2016 for my job but only in the city of Ghent in Flanders, just only short trips. It's a nice car for city driving, the regen makes it perfect for one pedal driving. I don't know the capacity of my car but those ranges or not correct. Maybe they have now a bigger battery but mine does in summer an estimated 140km in summer and 75 in winter. Last winter(forgot to put diesel in it for the heating) I had to drive around 15km back to work where the charging staging was and had 50 km of range. it was snowing abnormal for this region. I had to stop to heating because of traffic blocked half way and range dropped very fast. The traction control is bad, made it hard to just get over a speed bump with normal tires. But I love the car.

    Very informative in deed. Regarding the charger, this surprises me that the Kangoo can only charge 7,6kW. I assume Renault uses the same engine as the ZOE. This would enable the car to use the charging concept of the ZOE which is lowest in cost because the motor electronic and the stator windings are used also as powerful converter to charge the battery with 22kW or even 43kW 3 phase. Or uses the Kangoo probably the drive train of the Nissan NV200?

      @@bjornnyland No, I won't even look at it, most electricians work with a tablet where they get all the locations and navigation and jobs they have to do on that screen and when it's attached on the radio you can even get your music from it. For me the whole screen is like an airco on the north pole or a heater in the desert. What kind of info can you see on it that would be usefull? Unless you need the touch screen for charging or so I think I would barely use it. But that's just me, maybe others think different about it.

    It‘s ok to test plug-ins, if they are fuel efficient in hybrid mode. In contrast to many other plug-ins, Prius Plug-in and Ioniq Plug-in are efficient. You should make an exception for these two like you did for the BMW i8. If you don‘t want to burn gas you can drive them at least 50 km in ev mode, if you drive normal.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Imagine those hybrids, if you rip off ICE, transmission, exhaust system, all other shit, and put some batteries instead ( or make things smaller outside, bigger inside) if you can make hybrid ( esp plug in) make pure ev

    • @gerbre1
      @gerbre1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Full EVs are expensive or rare and this will not change in the next 10 years. Currently only a few new battery factories are being build, nearly all of them in China for the Chinese market. A Prius plugin is a Prius with a bigger battery only. Both are complicated but there are millions of these cars running in the streets already without issues. In case of a dead battery, it‘s cheeper to replace a smaller one. It‘s better to reduce emissions with existing fuel efficient hybrids or plugins instead of rare or non-existing EVs.

    • @DerKatzeSonne
      @DerKatzeSonne 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@therandomtester9561 well, while I understand the idea, I think this is just a stupid workaround, no solution. This way, you could just buy a Diesel with proper cleaning of the exhausts. Probably cleaner than this thing.

    • @therandomtester9561
      @therandomtester9561 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to concider that dieselcars here are fitted with the same webasto heater. In cold weather they too use the heater during driving, and in a lot of cases for pre-driving as well.
      A webasto like this uses 0.5 l/h on full blast, that's about the same as a warm diesel-engine on idle. I'm pretty sure full blast is too much even in -30C. So anyway you decrease the consumption by far compared to a pure fossil (even without additional heater).
      In -15/-20C it seems the range is about half of the summerrange in my Leaf. So in many cases a van like this would work great in summer, but not in winter. What do you choose, diesel all year round, or webasto for the coldest days?
      Sure, a better "workaround" would be a bigger battery, but it is what it is, and that is 33 kWh, and that is not enough during winter for many people..

    • @therandomtester9561
      @therandomtester9561 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why is that funny?
      If you drive in Norway, Sweden, Finland etc, you quickly realize that the range around halves in -15/-20C. Burning a tiny bit of diesel to go the distance makes sence those days.
      Dieselcars use webasto/eberspacher here as well..

    • @DerBlauzahn
      @DerBlauzahn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are at that point, you can discuss, if a fossil car is not the better solution at all. but i think not. as you can see on bjorn's nimber trips. So my opinion: Either completely electro or not at all. That's like hybrid cars.

    • @therandomtester9561
      @therandomtester9561 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely electro of course would be the best. But, unfortunately we don't have big enough batteries for every need yet. Fitting a webasto will be of great help for many.
      And, as I wrote to begin with, dieselcars have additional heater as well. So the coldest days the question will be diesel with dieselheater, or EV with dieselheater.. Easy choice if you ask me.
      No, it's not like a (todays) hybrid, they only have 50km range at best pure EV. EV with webasto you CAN drive pure EV most days, only on longer trips in cold weather you'll need the heater.
      Anyway a heater like this burns very little, 0,5 l/h on full blast, that's the same as a warm dieselengine on idle, surely a hybrid on idle won't get you far..
      Many people can drive a "short-range" EV during spring, summer and autumn, but on colder days the range could be to short. When you choose a car, you'll choose one that suits all days. What do you do, drive a fossil all year round, buy an extra car for those few days, or drive EV and simply use the webasto the coldest days?
      The postal office in the north of Norway tried EV's some time ago, not sure what kind. Anyways, they worked great in summer, but during winter (down to -30/-40C) they simply did not have the range. That was without Webasto. With the webasto they at least would stand a chance in the winter. I'm pretty sure the had to change cars so they drive pure diesel (with Webasto) all year round now..

      All Finnish people speak with strange accents when are talking English. I am more surprised when I hear Fins talking that they understand eachother...◄◄

    I still think that Renault are just.... bad cars. I used to be a huge fan but lately they are staying way behind what market and buyers want/ask from automakers.

      @@finnlolig3089 it's fine for me of you are happy with it than it's great. I was just speaking my mind, comparing what a Renault gives and other automakers give there is a huge difference in term of equipment for same price or segment.

      bosarama manufacturers go throught different stages. Generally in the 90s and 00s they made quite crappy cars overall if they were AWD, they save money on every single part you can't see. But nowadays i think they have improved quite a bit.
