  • In 2017, a manager in the account creation department at Vivint Smart Home gave a presentation showing just how prevalent deceptive tactics were at the company.
Among the things the manager told other Vivint executives, according to court documents:
Sales staff were misstating customer data to qualify them for credit.
To qualify some customers for financing, sales reps would find people with similar names - a method called “white paging” - and use that other person’s credit.
If their customer fell behind on payments, the sales reps would call into Vivint Smart Home customer service, impersonate the customer and pay the balance.

As a former D2D salesman if I used these tactics I would have made bank. These tactics are extremely prevalent and leave all door to door people with a horrible name. The D2D security guys stating they took over their competitors committed fraud outright and all individuals involved down to the fraudulent D2D representatives need to be criminally charged.

I had no idea Vivint did all this fraud. I heard about them some years ago and met a Canadian rep. Who knew.

Not exactly my company we do take overs but just cause we offer better deals then our competitors , we clearly tell who we work with and what we do and then mention how they like there security system 9/10 times they say they hate it and boom it’s opens us up to switch them over, only if they have a couple months left cause we buy out contracts but it does come out of our commission.

They’re not an MLM. The people buying the product are end-users, not people buying because of an “opportunity”

This is deplorable. Utah is the worst state in the USA for fraud. We need our legislature to implement laws to make it easier to address these issues.

Cheaters prosper and ethical salespeople get fired because they cannot meet the same count of sales despite everyone knowing THOSE sales were slammed on customers. Phones companies were no better when agents added silent features on customers' phone like call waiting, call forwarding etc.

they create false allegations of crime in you area and find tricky tactics to push their way in to your home once in they feel a sale it is going to happen since they would not leave until a contract would most likely be signed

And we have a HOA and a closed Facebook neighborhood group that reports EVERYTHING!.. So I am sure robberies, if they were happening .. would have been reported 🙄
