💡 How do you see businesses playing a role in eliminating hunger?

There is no climate emergency. The Earth was warmer in the recent and distant past. It also warmed faster in the past. Crop yields have never been higher and have increased significantly over the past few decades. Obesity is a much greater problem than starvation.

That’s simply not true. The planet is warming at speed much faster than at the time of the extinction of the dinosaurs. We might be producing a lot right now but warmer and wet weather will jeopardise this especially as we will have more mouths to feed in the coming years. I do however agree about the insane problem of obesity. Interestingly enough our team here worked on a big sustainability piece for Novo Nordisk (one of the worlds leaders in diabetes and obesity meds).

@Planet One Point Five You are quite right in saying it's simply not true. The truth is complex. If you want some really rapid warming look at the CET (Central England Temperature) Instrumental Record between 1690 and 1730 (3°C rise). Also why not try the Dansgaard-Oeschger events?
The Dansgaard-Oeschger events were global (Dima et al, 2018). One about 11,500 years ago, averaged annual temperatures on the Greenland ice sheet increased by around 8 °C over 40 years, in three steps of five years, but a 5 °C change over 30-40 years is more common for these events.
Some researchers believe the Medieval Warm Period was one of these, but I'm not convinced. Nevertheless, there is a lot of research to demonstrate the Medieval Warm Period was warmer than the present.
The current warming is spatially and temporally variable (so we can't really call it "Global" warming), but we've had only very roughly one degree last century, and we are looking at one more for the rest of this one. Hardly noticeable. Barely an inconvenience.

@@OldScientist It's hard to preach to the converted. I'll cross my fingers you'll be right but I won't sit around and wait to be proven wrong.
