करण जोहर के पिता स्वर्गवासी यशजी जोहर ने निर्माता की हैसियत से बनाई हुई पहली फिल्म थी 'दोस्ताना'. इस फिल्म में मरहूम मोहम्मद रफीसाहब के दो गीत थे. एक था किशोरदा के साथ "बने चाहे दुश्मन जमाना हमारा" और दूसरा था "मेरे दोस्त किस्सा ये क्या हो गया". यह दोनो बेहतरीन गीत उस समय तो लोगों के दिल में जा बसे ही थे लेकिन आज भी नई पीढी के लडके-लडकियाँ उन्हे पसंद करते हैं. रफीसाहब महान पार्श्वगायक तो थे ही परंतु साथ साथ एक नेक, दयालू एवं सीधे साधे इन्सान भी थे. एक बात समझ में नहीं आती कि फिल्म 'ऐ दिल है मुश्किल' के लिए संवाद लेखक नायडू ने रफीसाहब की बेइज्जती करने वाला संवाद लिखा और करण ने उसे बिना सोचे समझे फिल्माया ? ऐसा हो ही नहीं सकता. यह सब जान बूझ कर किया है. ताज्जुब की बात है कि उस समय सेन्सार के अध्यक्ष रह चुके पहलाजजी निहालानी ने भी इस संवाद पर ऐतराज नहीं जताया. फिल्म के प्रदर्शन के बाद जब कडी आलोचना हुई तब करण इसे फिल्म से निकाल सकता था लेकिन उसने ऐसा नहीं किया. पिता ने जिस महान पार्श्वगायक की इज्जत की उसी की उनके बेटे ने बेइज्जती की ! लानत है ऐसे फिल्मकारों पर !

Bhoker Singh India Wale . Not only artist religion is not a problem at all. But our attitude, when we fail to stand against injustice and we do it just because a guy don't share the same faith. People think he is serving his religion by denying injustice to people of other faith but when they go with teaching of their religion he will realise they are violating teaching of their religious books and only satisfying their negativity.
