I’ve got about 6 art go bags from full backpack for Plein air to an ArtToolKit. All are always ready. And I always keep one in the car - which has saved my bacon a couple of times. We must be prepared to art!
I am the opposite. I have bags ready ALL the time even though I’m not going anywhere 😂. I love making up “art to go” kits almost as much as I like getting palettes ready 😅. I have a few kits with everything I need and just have to grab a sketchbook (some even have a small sketchbook included). I like having them ready so I can move from room to room or take one outside to the deck. If I had to get things ready each time, I’d probably skip it and just read a book 😊.
I can relate in that I tend to empty my art bags after travelling and then sometimes have to pack things again at the last minute, grabbing whatever comes to hand. 😂 Pretty lake!
I’m catching up on your vids….Looks like you’re having so much fun! I’m really dying to do a long road trip…and a LOT of ART during the trip too…from east coast, where we live in Maryland, to parts out west. We are so lucky, here in our big beautiful country, 🇺🇸 to STILL have thousands and thousands, even millions of acres of open country and open parklands to enjoy! The public lands that allow us to enjoy that beauty close-up are a blessing that we must not take for granted and must take care of and protect! And then our BFF neighbor to the north, ❤️ Canada 🇨🇦, offers so much breathtaking beauty too. Thanks for sharing, Miranda! p.s. At 67, I’m beginning to think “bucket list,” bc time flies…so I better get busy! So much to see….so little time!
You don’t have an (art) go bag??? I do have 4 different items at the ready for trips to the forest preserve or even overnights. Sometimes, that very Dana Fox book comes along because I don’t have to freehand anything.
Hopefully my question came off as lighthearted! I look up to Miranda’s approach to taking art supplies with her almost everywhere and would be surprised to hear there isn’t an artmergency bag ready to go!
Hi, Miranda! Are you back at the same lake you've visited before? Why wouldn't the dogs play together - do you know? It sounds so unlike you not to remember your art bag! But having the WWC month bag must have been a huge relief - so useful to have something like that always ready to grab and go. How much have you managed to do? I haven't tried making art in a travelling car, probably because I'm the one driving??? And if I'm the passenger, seat I can't, because I get very car sick... But the G&G bumbag (plus SLR camera & lenses) was very useful for 'life studies' back-in-the-day, for the long trips on the London Underground from the in-laws in North London into the city and for sketches around London in the past. I still have the same G&G set-up today and consequently still have free access to a multitude of 'life models', random windows, doors, rooflines, etc. 😄 Note to anyone travelling abroad: Always have a bumbag (fanny bag) containing a mini-set of art supplies and A6 sketchbook as hand luggage. While a handbag (purse) does count, worn round the waist, the small bumbag (usually) doesn't, though it does need to go through the security check. It means that if your baggage does go astray, you still have a complete portable mini-set to keep you going (along with spare undies, t-shirt and toiletries in your hand luggage). 😊

those little collapsable water tubs are so handy 😀
First I would have finish reorganizing my disaster of a craft room. 😁
Oh no, hahaha!
I LOVE this book
Love seeing everything in that great watercolor month bag!!
Your paintings and your supplies are awesome. I love seeing the puppies!

That panic moment is so real 😅
Right?
You did great grabbing a useful assortment of art supplies in a hurry! It looks like a fun trip!
Thanks!

Yeah I just keep my travel bag packed! Small palette, small sketchbook, collapsable cup, travel brushes, pen and pencil, paper towels!

@@phyllisd3705 Yes I was just surprised too. And of course the Viviva sketch pack thingie is pretty much that!
One of my tricks is to use fineliner so it's only one quick wash of watercolour 🥰
Great idea!
Nice video for people who travel and are in a rush to pack, very helpful to them, stunning views where ever you are too! :D
