Loving this! I saw a video by Golden once and remember them saying an "Excellent" rating was based on their own testing not ASTM. In some brands PV 23 is not very light-fast and ASTM gives that pigment a lower rating. But QoR has tested their PV 23 extensively and says theirs is Excellent. Given Golden's reputation and cross-referenced with Kimberly Crick's database I believe them!
So much fun! I'm going to be taking a tour of the Golden/Qor manufacturing facility in central NY when I go home for vacation. They are very close to where I grew up. I'm so excited.
How did that go?
@@w.acastle It was a fabulous tour. I had the granddaughter/daughter of the founders give our tour. Didn't get to see any production of the Qor, but saw a lot of their other brands- Old Holland oils and their Golden acrylics. The care they take in producing the products, testing the paints and ensuring quality is unsurpassed. If you ever get a chance when in Central NY, it's well worth the time to take the tour of the Golden Artist Colors factory. Stairs and walking necessary.
Wow! You have QoR paints to last a lifetime! 😊😂🎉❤ Burnt Sienna was my fav brown!🎉
Thanks, Gwen! You're one of a very few who answered my question about the browns and I appreciate it! It IS a lovely Burnt Sienna.
"I don't plan on getting any more colors" 🤣😂🤣I *do* like your color order. I've disliked palettes that put the browns and grays at the bottom when they're so closely related to the yellows, oranges, reds, and blues. Safe travels!
Oh yea, someone that likes my color order. :-D Thank you.
These look stunning, ☺☺
So much fun. Love the outtakes!
Sooo many QOR colors 🥰 .. You have lots of yellows and oranges 😃 from the Umbers, I think I like the darkest one the most. Have a nice rest of the week!
Thanks for answering my question about the browns - only you and just a few others did and I appreciate it. I really was curious. Thank you, Xoonani!
Your palette looks so awesome, and I hope you receive Olive Green to fill that last pan! 😊
Thanks, Becky!
Such a lovely palette, so nice in full pans.
Full pans are the best!
i say get the Cadmium Yellow Primrose if it brings you joy! Put a smile on your face. Its a pretty color. Qor palettes just look so shiny and vibrant.
Aw, thanks!
You are so adorable 😍! I really enjoy watching paint 🎨 dry! Love ❤️ from Texas
Aw, thanks.
Hahaha “more colors than anyone needs.” Pul-eeze 😂😂😂. Great video. I’m waiting for some new colors to arrive and will have to rearrange as well. It’s not easy being a watercolorist!😅😅😅
Hahaha!
A thing I learned about Velcro from the doll costuming world - the adhesive they use is acetone based, so Beacon's Fabri-tac or 3-in-1 Adhesive are good to use to beef up the stickiness if you should need it.
Also... I need to go through my own Qor paints - I don't have anywhere near as many, but they are pretty much the bulk of my watercolor paints these days.
Okay, thank you for the tip!
Correction. Qor, Permanent Alizarin Crimson is PR177. You said PR172. Thanks for sharing Miranda. This was Awesome! I love my Qor, however I don't use them enough. I really love all the browns. PS, you must have amazing will power if you plan to wait until Christmas to finish your Qor palette. I wouldn't. It's just one more color to complete it. Im too OCD for that. LOL. I would just buy it.
Fourth row down and the First four colors look very similar. My favorite is transparent Pyrrole Orange and I have that on my palette!cobalt teal another of my favorites! Beautiful swatching Miranda. Thanks for sharing that with us. ❤Happy Fourth !
Great color favorites!
Oh Miranda, I am so much different than you. If I wanted a tube of olive green qor paint there is no way I’d wait until Christmas. I’d order it right now so I could have it before I leave. 😂 Maybe I’m a little bit spoiled?
She's trying real hard to keep to her No-Buy... I would not have her strength!
@@PhoenyxAshe Same! I'd make "just one" exception and that would be the end of it. 😄
Me too. Im just too OCD to not tie up a loose end. I have to finish things. It's closure. Does that make sense? She's got one empty spot. I would go crazy looking at it.
Oh my goodness, it was so fun reading your comment and all the replies to it. I smiled so much!
Hullo Miranda, I like the brown that is last in the row, I think I had a burnt sienna on my second pallet and so I was mixing my browns and greys. I avoided QoR watercolors when they came out because I was told they used artificial pigments, I believe that they had poor customer relations as it was their binder quozole? Or something like that, yet they did feature some of the newest colors constructed from artificial methods or chemistry rather than simple pigments. I was given the 24 tube set from a friend who got it as a gift at Christmas and she wanted nothing to do with “those paints”! I have since purchased the goofy sets with that weird silicon divider/mixing areas when they went on sale before the big release of the new colors and remade recipes for many of their colors. I have learned how close brown is to yellow when sorting my soft pastels! They are so close and from the same color family too! Thank you for sharing this beautiful palette with us you do have plenty of choices and I hope to see some more examples of your paintings with them. See you soon!
I really enjoy my QoR paints and the two paintings I showed briefly in one of my recent videos of Glacier National Park were done with this palette. They are delightful.
What a gorgeous palette and swatch sheet ❤. I’m firm into my no-buy, otherwise I’d be tempted by a few. I have the QoR 12-colour tube set and their 12-colour travel palette (which duplicates some colours in the tube set) but I picked them up on trips to the US, it’s a hard brand to find in Canada (and when you do, they are very expensive).
This palette is gorgeous! It makes me want to swatch out some of my palettes.
Yes!
This is my, “FUN-Spiration” for the day!! Thanks Miranda!
Awesome, you're welcome and thank you for being here!
I love swatching! This is a lovely arrangement!
Does anyone (brand) have cyan in their collection?
“That’s the joy of filling tubes” You’re filling pans not tubes, lol. It cracked me up because I’m tired and I imagined you trying to fill tubes which would be an even bigger mess.
Yeah, I think I flashed up the word "pan" during final editing and rolled my eyes a bit. Hahaha!
I agree the Cad Yellow Primrose is really unique! Thinking of putting it in my porcelain palette. Maybe you need to put that one on your Christmas list too - oh you figured that out -- remember, there will also be FUTURE Christmases! I'm probably an outlier but I tend to like Raw Umber because it's so dark and because it's cool.
I like raw umber, too! So handy to have in a palette.
@@rebeccah7689 Yes! Especially in landscapes, tree trunks and branches are so much cooler and greyer than one would think.
Just WOW! i knew you had "few" new colors to add but I didn't realize it will fill the whole palette 😅 but seriously it looks so so gooe filled with all of thrse colors! And even though I don't arrange my colors like you but I loved how you arranged theh looks so pretty 🥰 I can't wait to see you paint with them
Thanks! It took me FOREVER to decide on my palette order. I kept changing my mind. For hours. Ha!
Wowsers that's a palette to envy. Id lovw some Qor paints to try but they're still a bit less easy to get here in Scotland so they're a bit pricey - im hoping the fact these new colours came out and more of you are reviewing them will mean that more UK suppliers pick them up and the prices improve. Unfortunately Hobbycraft which is the main arts and craft chain of stores in the UK has started doing away with some of the well known brands and is replacing them with what is clearly a cheaper white label brand. So it means i gave to travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh to access an actual shop, or order on line from down in England. Its si frustrating theres no good art store nearer. Anyway, that was a ramble 😂😂 great video, cant wait to see some paintings from this mega palette 😊
Oh no, it's not good that they are starting to carry only the cheaper brands. Darn it! Always nice to hear from you.
Oh my goodness I would love to try some of the Qor paints -cadmiums since I found out that I have a really bad sensitivity to them.
It is gorgeous but I would never be able to pick out which color I wanted to use. More than my senior can compute. Added benefit-saw you had the same problem as me with the some of the colors making lumpy pans. Nice to know I'm not a complete klutz.
Yeah, some just didn't cooperate, lol.
Oh my the Cobalt Green takes months to dry too! Be careful! I love that pigment (underrated IMO) but I much prefer Schmincke's, because my Qor has so much binder and it's so low tinting. I love how you were able to use the old tin!
Awesome!
Beautiful colours and safe travels! I hope you get to paint with these wonderful colours! :D
Thank you!
It looks grreat.... seems that the yellows look almost the same and the same with the 3rd row... But the swatches are beautiful.... Thx so much.
oooh so pretty!! and so expensive lol
Right?!
