_Fallout 3_ was also the first game that introduced me to this universe. I've been a big fan of it since.
The man narrating the intro is none other than actor Ron Perlman who’s done the opening narration for every fallout game except for 4 but he does have a cameo in 4’s prologue.
Fun fact: the father is voiced by none other than Liam Neeson!
and the intro is voiced by Ron Pearlman 😯
Let's not forget the legendary voice of Galaxy News Radio, Three Dog, voiced by Erik Todd Dellums, who also voices a quest giver NPC in _The Elder Sctolls V: Skyrim_ 's Dark Brotherhood faction.
I did the game a long time ago and just learnt how insane dubbing is in English ! I'm French and I usually like original language but for immersion I always played my Fallout in French. Now I pay attention to English dubbing it's far better and the casting is incredible ! I'll launch New Vegas in English asap

Fun fact the voice in the game of when you were a baby was Todd Howard’s (current Bethesda CEO) then baby son Jake Howard.

@@LIPPSMACKER if u hold F, you can turn the camera around and see yourself. If you hold R (reload) you will holster your gun or put your fists down. So you don’t accidentally cap anyone while talking to them :’)
Also I recommend saving the game every hour or so
lock the game's fps to 60 by turning on vsync in the launcher since anything over 60 fps causes the physics to break, like I noticed your character walks super fast

@@LIPPSMACKER np, but I think if you have a high refresh monitor (higher than 60hz) this solution might not fix the problem, you might have to manually lock the game fps to 60 with the nvidia control panel for example, there are many videos on yt that show how to do that

i just started playing fallout 3 as well, so its nice to see another fellow gamer experience it as well.
Dad has a particular set of skills , so never upset him . And if you do , he will look for you , he will find you , and he will kill you .
Fallout 3 was my first game, about 11 years ago now. I first started this depressive yet mind blowing universe. I'm excited to see you play this. Here's a few things to know, as a noob. since it's REALLY hard to make money in this particular game, atleast at the start. Loot every enemy you can loot, steal every piece of food or medicine, certain junk items like cigarette cartons have good money/weight ratio. (none of these are necessary but they are good ways to save on money and get yourself a treat sometimes)

Intelligence is my favorite to invest in because the higher your Intelligence the more experience you gain.
Lol, not in this game, you gain skill points, like in 1, 2 and New Vegas.
Remember buying this game when it came out in 2008 for my 10th birthday and completed it so many times I lost count🤣 had to buy the GOTY edition after watching the series easily the best fallout game although new vegas was fantastic too!

VATS works for melee, always use VATS for combat, computer hacking, pick a word from the lists, you are then told how many letters are correct then try another.
oh man I love this intro of this game there is so much truth in this intro which is really sad it was my very first Fallout game what good times I had back then on the Xbox 360
Great first playthrough! Here's a tip that's helped me a lot. You can regain full health by sleeping in any unowned bed (and with no enemies nearby). They're all over the wasteland. That way, you can save your stimpaks (medkits) or food for when you really need them like in combat.
Love your playstyle. It's match with mine. I love looting ❤
Quick tip: Avoid "into the pitt, The local flavor, not of this world, and aiding the outcasts" for awhile, Those are all DLC quests and would be too difficult to tackle anytime soon.

@@LIPPSMACKER Just figured i'd also quickly mention, without spoilers, i'd recommend only attempting them when you feel like you are much better equipped and have made a fair amount of story progress. if you are curious, Some of them ARE easier/harder than others, from my experience/memory, from easier to most difficult, the DLC quests are:
-Into the Pitt (Easiest)
-Aiding the Outcasts
-Not of this World
-The local flavor (hardest)
This is epic! Glad you are doing one of these. Take your time with it because it is a long game and patience is key to some of the quests. If your rush into a fight, you will die over and over and you have to be smart with your skills too.
Discovering V.A.T.S. just after you run out of ammo - bad luck.

My first file had something like 745+ hours on it on the PS3. So good!
I haven't played this in probably 15+ years. I will say regardless of it's age, it comes from a time when Bethesda still cared. Good choice. Hopefully someone guided you to one of the Unofficial Patches which are made by players to fix each Bethesda game release - seriously.
The stepping out of the Vault moment is one of the most iconic moments in gaming. Often copied, never reached.
Also the intro is great, shame about the famous but copyright claimed song in it.
Fallout 3 GOTY is my second favorite game ever and it is permanently installed on my pc, I have already played it more or less 15 times and I plan to play it over and over and over...

Do not accept MorIa's quest with the Mirelurk until after you clear out their tunnel first
lol, I was literally typing pelase put on the armor you looted when you finally figured that out. You can use VATS with melee weapons like the baseball abt too. For hacking you click a word and it tells you how many letters match, then you can use that to help inform your next guess, until you guess the correct word or run out fo guesses

FO3 was the first to get me into the games, i played it when it first came out, then Neew Vegas and FO4.. didnt play fo76 though, lots of people think New Vegas is the best one, but ill be honest i think fall out 3 is better and has better DLCS as well

1:21:00 Looting everything you can to sell for caps is helpful. Taking more outfits is helpful. Your carry limit never passed halfway.

Just a piece of advice, I see you've been playing for a while, but maybe you haven't figured it out yet. When using VATS against a strong opponent, try to target either leg. You can easily slow him down and make him an easy target

Press and hold the R Key to holster your weapon and your fists so you don't walk around with them out, just pressing R will reload your weapon.
The stuff that popped up when you first exited the Vault are DLCs that are meant to be undertaken at higher levels, tackle anything in any order but all of the stuff that is associated with a radio broadcast at this point are things you can wait to do. Blood Ties is the perfect beginning quest to get a feel for the outside world. Hope you're enjoying the game!

You should play Max Payne 3. It's another game from Rockstar that feels a lot more like watching a TV show. You don't really have to play the first 2 games to understand number 3 because 3 does a good job at having its own story away from the first 2 games

pretty sure you're gonna have a blast. if i were to give you any advice it'd be don't believe everything you get told. just because a npc or terminal entry says a thing, doesn't necessarily make it so.🙂

Started a f03 run myself a few days ago. Ive played f04 before, i think f03 is the better one to start as you.start out like Lucy, a vault dweller
The poem is located under "Notes" which is in the data section on your PIP Boy
You start as a vault dweller too in fallout 4 but not very long depending how see being frozen for 210 years
My honest opinion is that fo3 is a great start to the series! It gives a good feel to fallout vibe and the exploration is what got me hooked when i first played it!!
Fallout 3 is my least favorite of the games, but this is absolutely true.
And obviously I do still LIKE it, my “least favorite fallout game” is still high on my overall game list
43:30 VATS (activated by pressing V) is the lifesaver in this game. It allows for more accurate targeting, saves ammo, and lowers your blood pressure. I was also surprised you chose and stuck with the weakest of your three weapons, and didn't suspect something was amiss when you were almost killed by basic enemies that seemed surprisingly hard to shoot, with bullets that took too long to finish them off. You were very willing to believe the game would put you in such a grueling position.
But eventually you got it. I'd just recommend saving at moments of calm, reading what medical items will impact before you take them, and optimising what you wear for what you will be doing.
I definitely used VATS more in episode 2 but also don’t have a full handle on the health stuff yet. So much aid has benefits that I don’t understand atm 😫
Fallout 3's lone wanderer's vault has a seriously frustrating past.
Especially when it comes to the previous overseer before Armata's father.

Quality game, however your game is out of sync thats why your moving to fast and the speech doesn't match...you need to cap your fps for the game at 60!
