In 2000 I had a black Muslim turn up in my infantry platoon.
He immediately demanded his own separate bedroom to pray and when he didn't get it, he kept waking everyone in his shared 4-man room at dawn to pray.
Whist on manoeuvres/exercises he wouldn't be a team player and accused everyone of racism to get out of hard tasks.
I had Commonwealth soldiers,Fijians, in my platoon who hated him because of his attitude.
It affected Platoon morale, and not a week went by where I was being called to my bosses over accusations from him.
The British army is so short of troops it will bring any kind of dross into it and we all have to adhere to individual needs and it puts pressure on commanders.
I'm glad I left after 20yrs and would advise any young man who is anti-Woke to think again about enlisting.

Many years ago, there was an Indian lad who was hailed as a hero as he had hiked hundreds of miles to reach the nearest recruiting office to join the Royal Navy.
I served on the same ship with him & he turned out to be the laziest sailor I'd ever known, who would cry racism if he was ever given tasks he didn't want to do.
He was a complete failure of the recruiting system, simply because he was lauded as something 'special'

Agreed, 100% ! Except one small detail, if I may sir. Patriotism starts IN THE HOME ! My father volunteered in 1938 for RAF service and came through Battle of Britain, North Africa, Italy. HIS passion for HIS "Lovely Spits" and all the "Bods" he knew and many who were lost, taught ME from a VERY young age what his generation had done for MINE. That same passion was continued and deepened at Primary AND secondary schools by many teachers who had ALSO come through service an war for OUR "Better future". How many parents OR teachers today, open childrens eyes to the DEBT we all owe to those who served for OUR freedoms and way of life ? Even the bbc USED to show that same pride in OUR nation, but not any longer. Instead, just like many teachers and others in authority, they LIE about our past and ALL OUR PEOPLE BUILT

Spot on, I left 2003 and was dismayed how clueless civilian management was, there were still a few ex service in the workplace but gradually replaced at retirement with the new wrong mindset individuals, the replacements with no clue then went on to recruit others with no idea of what they doing. Todays recruitment adverts, process and models are a abomination of common sense. And as an aside the Wing Commander that insisted I have the Anthrax jab which I did not take I hope he is having reflections.

The problem comes directly from The Equality Act that Labour brought in during their long tenure.
I joined the forces in 1999 and did 23 years. I saw this creep in during my time during the mid 00's.
Tim is right when he says if you prioritise diversity, meritocracy has to come down the list. The simple way of putting is this...if you have to quota-ise your selections you are automatically and drastically reducing the pool you can choose from.
The worst offenders for this during my time were "failing" officers. Useless people, great tea makers and adequate bag carriers but useless at making decisions and promoted up to get them out of the way, the difference was they were parroting the political correctness line at every opportunity. The army BAME network was full of this sort. I could write an essay best leave it there.

Most of us who agree with Tim share a common narrative about our nation, a common set of beliefs about what it means to be British....and many of the younger generation have been taught a different narrative and hold different beliefs. Until we find some way for the schools, universities, politicians and the media to reform the modern narrative i to something less than "Britain is evil", there can be no uniting of our Kingdom. And our King needs to start and lead that process.

Same thing in Our Country the USA, Diversity in the Ranks. Our Aircraft are Falling out of the skies because Aircraft Mechanics are unable to Service our Aircraft properly and Pilot Error Crashes because the Standards are Now at such a Low Level and yet they still Push these people through to make the Numbers for each class.
Not just the Military!! Boeing Aircraft Diversity workers building these Aircraft Civilian and Military are sending Aircraft out the hanger door Missing Parts, Bolts, and even Flight control Cables Reversed, (pull back on the Stick to pitch up into the air except the Aircraft drops it;s nose to the ground), under the eyes of the Diversity F.A.A. Quality Control Inspectors.
Not to mention the Diversity F.A.A. Aircraft Controllers giving clearance to Pilots to Line up and wait for Take Off at the same time they are Clearing Aircraft for Landing ON THE SAME RUNWAY. Only a matter of time until 100's of Passengers are killed by these Controllers, in a future Ground or Mid-Air Collisions. It is going to happen!!! and soon. Fight Russia???? as Dr. Evil said, "Riiiiiight???/with pinky finger on the lips"
My advice, start walking or Take a Train for you next Vacation. Pilot Bob ~S` Great Video!!

Single Engine Op. in any, twin-engine aircraft, must be done right and quick. N.A.T.O.P.S. IS WRITTEN IN BLOOD. Standards are there for a reason. No Aircraft cares who is behind the controls and it's up to the Pilot and Crew to do the right thing at the right time. If the Pilot is unable to Master the Plane until it's, "time to get out", they Must Failed out of that program and be taken out of the Plane. That doesn't mean they can't do well in another aircraft, but You Must take action with those who can't perform at the level required and get them gone. Otherwise people get killed, planes are lost, and the Mission Fails. Lowering the Standards to nothing but hit a quota and Mission Failure will be the Only Outcome. Amen Brother! Your Post is a great example. Pilot Bob ~S` @@johnnunn8688

There were a few reasons why I didn't join the Royal Air Force or Fleet Air Arm and it stemmed all the way back to my Air Cadet days.
I joined really late but passed my exams quite quickly. I was due to sit my Staff Cadet (yellow lanyard) exams but one of the younger cadets found out that I needed to be a Corporal before I could sit it - and grassed on me so I was stuck at the same grade. Prior to that, our squadron only have 6 to 8 cadets on parade for a few months - so I asked the CO if I could recruit new lads (girls weren't permitted back then). I managed to recruit 30 cadets in the space of a few weeks. Only about 5 stayed - but still, I was told I was a prime candidate for promotion. That was only my secondary school. I didn't have the chance to visit the other 3 schools.
My CO had to leave the squadron due to a family issue and the new CO had a different promotion system. Previously, you'd be interviewed by the CO, Adult Warrant Officer and Head of the Civilian Committee. The new CO just went out for a beer for the parents and the next week, their kids would get called out and get promoted. This happened to three kids - one of whom I taught how to do everything (he was 14 where I was 17 at the time). If it weren't for two other guys who I was a bit senior to in cadets but they were both in 6th form like me - and weren't NCOs either, I would have gone crazy.
One of those fellow 6th formers was officer material but decided to join the RAF as a airman. 6 months later, I saw him and he bought himself out. He told me "it's just like cadets where you get little shits throwing their weight around".
So, that plus the thought of being superseded in rank would have pissed me off. That said, I'd be just as upset if I were promoted when I knew there were other (white) guys more qualified than me.

Hello Tim , I’ve just come across this interview and was near to tears from frustration, I’m afraid to say this has been happening not for years but decades, I was rejected from the London fire brigade almost 40 years ago, when I reapplied the following year I was told that I had one of the highest interview marks they had, the woman who told me that said in a low voice that I was the wrong sex and colour .
I despair at the state of our country, I watched this morning Jake Berry MP interviewing a reform candidate he actually blamed reform for Labour winning the local election, he just didn’t get the fact of the damage that the so called conservatives have done to this country.
And lastly Tim thank you for your service to our country, I totally agree with you.

As I've stated - we have cashed out of the military. You think we have two brand new aircraft carriers currently rusting in the docks each carrying no more than a handful of planes because of austerity? Even immediately after WWII - when we were in a far worse economic condition and needing to sink billions into the national road infrastructure, motorways, the NHS and nuclear power we could always rustle up money if it were absolutely essential. We're downsizing because we have come to the realization that anything other than sporadic proxy wars, engagements with smugglers, pirates, terrorists and coastal patrols is completely off the table because it automatically results in thermonuclear war. These people have been conning us for decades with these contrived threats which ultimately pan out to be small potatoes. The message should have gotten through in Korea when Deadly Doug - who was completely within his terms of reference when he took that job - ordered up nuclear strikes against China. Despite having complete strategic authority to conduct nuclear war what happened? They ran his ass out of town. Fast forward to the Vietnam conflict where you had the Joint Chiefs pulling their hair out in exasperation because Washington wouldn't let them go full tilt against the North. What they didn't know was that Vietnam was a conflict they were never supposed to win. Because winning would have killed us all. Of course, you can't send 200,000 Americans into a war zone with their hands tied behind their back and so they lied. Same goes for Ukraine. All this talk from Biden and company about Ukraine pushing the Russians out of their territory is just a farrago of lies. The Americans have ZERO intentions of seeing Ukraine defeat the Russians. These were just lies told so that the US could continue with their trillion dollar program of defence deficit spending. People need to wake up. War as you understand it no longer exists. In the future wars will be fought between rival corporations at best. Certainly not nation states. It's too dangerous. Congratulations to the men and women who worked on the Manhattan Project. They promised nuclear power would put an end to major wars. It looks like they were right.

Taking recruitment out of the hands of the Forces and giving it to a civilian company was a major mistake. Years ago you could join and be in within a month in some cases. Now people have to wait in some cases for over a year for "paperwork". Some never hear back. Security clearence? I know someone who did 6 years in the Army and after awhile decided to join the RN, a year later he was still waiting for security clearance and told his recruitment was " complicated" by his prior service. He gave the idea up. I did my second stint in a different branch of service beginning in 90. I was at the depot within a month of attending the recruiting office.

If you are an Officer in the Military and you fail an objective, or a key part of your job then your whole promotion chain will collapse, and you'll be on your way out.
Given that, why is Capita who are repeatedly failing still in post, why are the Civil Servants who fail in procurement etc still in post?
The obvious comparison is the Post Office enquiry going on now, when up against it, large numbers of people, who had huge amounts of power, are shown to be sub standard, or have very, very high cognitive health issues, because I've never seen so many people who can't remember.

In the late 90’s I had in my Division a young coloured AB, she was very capable, reliable member of my Staff. The young woman came to me expressing concern that she was being taken off duty weekly for photo ops; amongst other things this caused resentment from the team covering for her absence.
I talked to the recruiting cell and was basically told to ‘butt out’. The young lady left the service.
