2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power Steering leak

I first began to notice that my power steering was getting noisy and stiff, and then saw an oil stain in the driveway. To gain access I had to remove the plastic protective belly pan shield. Once it was removed I could see it was leaking form this line.. On a 2011 you have to remove the front bumper cover. Once it is off you will see that this is a low pressure line that goes to a rectangle shaped oil cooler that is fastened to the A/C condenser. Undo the hose clamps at both ends of the pipe and remove from the jeep. I re-used the short moulded hose between the cooler and the rusted out steel line. I could not locate a new one, so I took the pipe to a shop that makes custom Hydraulic hoses. For $40 they made a new one for me.

Thanks for the video, I have the same leak and had real trouble finding the part as well because it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere for a 2011... Eventually located it on a 2012 parts diagram, #5154407AG. It also seems to be filled with ATF+4 instead of CHF-11, not sure if it came that way from the factory or if someone used the V8 fluid by accident. All in all seems parts for the 2011 power steering system is a real mess.

David, what type of fluid did you put back in? I topped off a little bit with CHF-11, but it seems its just ATF-4? Also when you take this off, did you just drain and refill or did you just top off and did any pressure needs had to be done? Thanks!

Hello I just crimped off the low pressure line, so that I didn't loose very much fluid. Then I topped it off once the repair was done with CAM2 Power Steering fluid
