Recorded using Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable with internal preamp removed and an AT120E cart. All records are cleaned on a VPI 16.5. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 for recording and processing. Clicks are removed manually with a light filter used sparingly.

Love this version. Back in the day we danced like there was no tomorrow to this song. Made people feel / think they WERE in outer space or on the way there.. And the special added touch of the German lyrics. Icing on the cake !!!!

1983, Major Tom (Coming Home) es una canción del músico alemán Peter Schilling, del cual hizo un videoclip Peter Sinclair. En 1969 David Bowie escribió la letra y música de Space Oddity, canción mítica para la que inventó el personaje del Mayor Tom, un astronauta que tras el despegue de su cohete se perdía en el espacio.

No soy muy fanático de las versiones extendidas peor de los remixes donde la mayoría sí son horribles, pero tengo que reconocer de que esta versión está de lo más fenomenal y es una de las pocas melodías en versión extendida que más me agrada de este género. Por eso y más es que lo tengo agregado en mi colección de archivos musicales, Clásicos por siempre, aunque es una verdadera lástima de que no exista video musical con esta versión extendida. Gracias.
Me lembro dos meus 15 anos, chegava da escola as 12 horas em casa, primeira coisa que fazia era ligar pra rádio, rádio dimensão FM, tinha a seleção do ouvinte, eu pedia sempre essa música, sound like a Melody Alphaville e outras, mas major tom sempre era a primeira música! E escutava no rádio do meu avô, época boa, não tinha celular com MP3, pra escutar uma música quando quisesse tinha que gravar em fita cassete, época sofrida mas época boa.

I agree, but why "alleged lost cosmonauts"? Which cosmonauts are you referring to (just curious). The U.S. government has never challenged the veracity of the Soviet and Russian space missions. As the U.S.S.R. didn't of Apollo, or earlier or later NASA missions.
Have you heard of the conspiracy in regards to the alleged failed space launches. It is believed that the USSR launched men into space before America but failed, and there is some evidence to back up such a wild claim. Two amateur radio operator brothers from Italy known as the Judica-Cordiglia brothers have recordings of the failed launches. However the Soviet Union denies such failed launches until this day. It hasn't been proven, and that is why I used the term "Alleged".
Reminds me more of the Apollo 13 mission where all three astronauts made it home safely.
