I finally read assistant and apprentice to the villain after hearing everyone trash them, and they were so much fun. Not sure what I was expecting but they were a delight
Oh man, I am here for Onyx Storm. I absolutely loved both Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I was definitely okay with it not being heavy on the romance and I hope that it keeps a good romance/plot balance in the future books, unlike similar series (looking at you Sarah J Maas) I haven't really buckled down to research what books are coming out in 2025, but after watching this so excited for the V. E. Schwab book. So far everything I've read by her has been a hit: Gallant, the Vicious series, but I still have not read Adie La-rou and I need to fix that in 2025. What I really want to do for 2025 is get my stacks of sequel books and standalones down by a LOT. In my sequel stacks, it's mostly duologies, so if I read them, then those series are done and put to bed, and I'll feel a lot better reading other 1st books in a series. Here's to hoping 2025 is a great reading year for everyone! 🎉
ONYX STORM WOOOO!!!! I am FERAL waiting for that book. I want to read the Vicious duology so badly, but I've heard it's kind of cliffhangery in the second book so that makes me so nervous. YOU NEED TO READ ADDIE IMMEDIATELY. Especially if you loved Gallant. I will say that Addie is sooooo much slower so just take your time reading it. You need to be in like an almost ethereal mood to really love it. I totally agree 2025 needs to be the year of the sequels. I really enjoyed doing my sequel video so I just need to focus on those too. Definitely keep me updated on any series you get finished! I'll be on the lookout to keep you motivated 🤣
personally the reason I really disliked iron flame is because I felt like the relationship squabbles completely overshadowed what could’ve been a great fantasy book. I was tired of violet & xaden by the end of it and don’t even care what happens to them next, I just want more dragon lore & world-building! looking forward to onyx storm, but tentatively.
Bride had steamy stuff but it wasn’t the focus so it makes sense you liked it regardless of the weird sex part. I am very excited about Onyx Storm. I get why many people didn’t like Iron Storm if they were expecting more romance. I didn’t care that it didn’t have much in it. We needed more plot for that series. I’m nervous about the new Riley Sager book bc I was disappointed with his book this year. The books I’m looking forward to is Onyx Storm, Among Serpens’s by Marc Gregson, Where Did You Go by Jeneane O’Riley. I know there are a few more but I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
Bride was such a perfect mix of steamy and actual plot. It definitely got a bit weird, but my brain was so excited about the rest of the story, it's blocked that out.
I made the mistake of reading Verity as my first Colleen Hoover book. It’ll probably be my only book by her as I hated it. I know people love her books, but that one made me mad.
I want to read Immortal too! I'm talking with someone who wants to skip it, but no idea if they will actually foward it to me (i'm waiting for them to write to Fairyloot's support). I may try the Fourth Wing next year. I mean i got a free ebook, but just can't get into it (it was some charity action where if you read the book you chose they give money to charity. I hope it didn't end yet, but I just wasn't in a mood to read). "Bemused" has a really pretty cover. That reminds me - from Disney- related books I'm really excited for the Jafar backstory book (written by Hafsah Faizal) For my list of books i want to read, I have: "Nettle and Bone", "Nimona" and "House of many ways" (i love Howl's Moving Castle, but a few years ago I promised myself to actually read book 3 in English and I still haven't started it); also there is a collection of Korean fairy tales by William Elliot Griffis, that I really want to read (followed by a book about Korean mythology by some Polish author). Also! In a few day I will be getting "the Sound of the gong" and I want it to be one of the first books I will read in 2025.
I hope you can get a copy of Immortal! I feel like that one may be hard to get as a resell too so fingers crossed you get lucky. I definitely want to read Nettle and Bone next year too.
Hope you enjoy your reads 📚☕

Yeah I don't get the hate with them. The first two books were so wonderful and are actually on my best books of the year 😁

I can totally see that. I definitely saw a lot of frustration about the back and forth/lack of communication between the MCs.

Yup! I'm going to absolutely devour that book when I get my hands on it!

Oh noooo. I own that one and It Ends With Us, so I hope I like Verity better than you did. 😅

@@kimberlyreads I decided to not get it because the person I talked with had some "problem" with writing to FL, and I decided it's not worth the risk
