After independence every centimetre of the soil is belongs to our country. Hence, we cannot say it’s property to East India Company. It’s belong to our country , our state . The Tamil Nadu govt can use that for any social purpose, like hospital, IT Park, a hub for police or fire safety or for emergency services while natural calamity. Whenever DMK is in rule, the allegation of illegal land acquisition , or improper exploitation of all form of natural resources is always high.
Yes, but India passed earlier from East India Compagny control to Direct British Crown control (after the Independence War or "The Great Mutiny").
East India Compagny is just a Compagny like we have plenty today (Amazon, Adani Group, Sun Group, etc.), whereas British India was a territorial possession or dependency of another country (United Kingdom).
All private assets of the East Indian Compagny remained under that private company, whereas the public land they ruled on passed to British India government control.

After independence, any foreign assets become, by default, national property. It is equally applicable to even educational institutions started and managed by foreign countries during the British period.

Near this land still a School National Hr. Secondary situated where a two or three a College was running and the trustee of this college was Purushothaman of Empee distillers. Now the college was shift to Near Irugottukottai and the college was sold to some one else

The majority of the huge Land in Madras belongs to the Church, Temple, and INDIAN defense forces and if you cross Pachypaa College Road until Central you can see a lot of Old Britisher officer's Bungalows without any maintenance and it belongs to Kanchipuram temple land taken for lease pre-independence, because this Government is masters in land grabbing and not sure how true, even now there are few Tea estates in Ooty belonging British family.

9:49 I have doubt here… how come this transfer is valid.. As per the agreement, to transfer the deed they have to get deed from East India company.. but in the year 1957- India got independence.
So this transfer is done without getting letter from East India company..!

During the lease period, the person who was in possession has the right to sell, transfer and assign its rights to third parties after getting prior permission of the Officer. The lease agreement was valid until 1969. So it is valid.

10:04 My question is- As you mentioned in 1957 it was transferred with proper letter (Prior notification).
At this time, in 1957 who has rights to issue letter for this transfer deed? By that time, India got independence, so obviously East India company doesn't have any officer or rights to issue letter.
So without letter how come this deed is possible or who was the officer that issued letter on behalf of East India company..?
Or This letter will be issued during the renewal time itself? In this case it was issued in 1923 as part of renewal agreement?

This property clearly belongs to East India company .... which is owned today by an Indian in the UK. Legally this is tricky
While the company was revived, it doesn't mean that this property belonged to the company. All company property were transferred to British Raj government, when the company was liquidated. After independence, British Raj properties are transferred to the Indian government. So this belongs to either the state government or the Central government.

Actually the current owner should approach for renewal of lease and pay necessary penalties and charges. govt can’t just like that take over this.
Also there will be sone precedence and notifications or agreement by govt at time of independence as to what to do with existing agreements and that should be followed
