Opossums are conflict averse, and try to avoid fighting by any means at their disposal(Running away/Threat displays like growling and teeth bearing/Playing dead/etc). To get bit you'd have to deny it every possible alternative. Aka agitate one, corner it, pester it, and after all that, put your in close enough for it to bite.
