Mercedes, Mitsubishi and Honda are under a merger group called Maritime Motors, we have the same thing here in PE, they sell their vehicles on their individual spots but park their cars together outside and inside. Hence you see Mitsubishi next to Mercedes.
No, this is not entirely true, Maritime Motors is an independent multi-brand dealership. After Mercedes-Benz South Africa stopped distributing Mitsubishi vehicles, the Motus Group took over the distribution of Mitsubishi in South Africa. Mercedes-Benz Bedfordview is a franchise dealership under the Motus Group.
It's a multi franchise dealership. They sell. Multiple brands under one dealership. Since individual brands don't sell well on their own, selling other brands helps them. A good example is Lazarus Motors in Centurion, they sell Jaguar, Land Rover, MG Motors, Honda, Jetour, Kia, Ford, Baic, GAC Motors, Mazda and Foton. This dealership is on the extreme side of selling multiple competing brands but it helps them since Ford, Kia and Jetour are their best sellers. Others usually sell two to three brands together. Like stucky motors in Newcastle sells Omoda, Jaecoo, Chery and Mitsubishi motors. They used to be Mercedes benz but with their sales they shifted to the Chinese brands to survive
With a clean conscience, how do you press on the interior that was squeaking the whole time then you say that the build quality of the cars has gotten better?
the Germans are now fashion statements n the average user want a car that can do what a car needs to do at am affordable price...n there are many more average buyers than above average buyers.. there is no one who can justify buying a 2L engine for 2million
I test drove the MG HS yesterday (it was a 1.5L turbo model in the Comfort version) and to be honest with you that car drives beautifully, has enough tech that will keep you busy and nice interior quality considering what they are asking for. People that used to own Mercedes said to me that are now buying cars like that. PS: MG is next to Mercedes in Paarl and also went with “plakkies” there
6:26 Mercedes-Benz South Africa was once responsible for assembling and distributing Mitsubishi vehicles in the country. However, Mitsubishi is now distributed through the Motus Group (with Bedfordview being one of its dealerships)
You chose the wrong Chinese brand to give as an example. GAC is struggling to sell their cars in SA and currently planning for a Relaunch of the brand in SA some time in February. You could have gone to a Jetour or BAIC instead.
we know that your friend (peace) also has a polo gti so you saying stuff like “the most popular polo gti in south africa and no other polo gti is known as this one” is kinda weird
It’s not that deep. And even if it was… did he lie??😹🤷🏾♂️ There’s a reason some people refer to a white polo GTI as “The angel dust”. Peace was well known for the R-Line.
Simple answer… Merc lost the pricing for their basic cars an A200 with 120kw costs R300k more than a GAC with 130kw and on par in terms of quality

It has gotten better because it use to squeak even more and move apart.
@ Angel my man, it’s either the quality is great or it’s not. It’s still squeaking and you said there are plastics on the interior.
