I love this, and look forward to learning more about conditioning my crawlspace. I have some Roxul Batts and I would love to see how you get them on the walls As soon as my plumbing is fixed, I will be taking it on full-force

Nice. I just restored some wood windows and built new storms for my clients. They were dissatisfied that the storms gathered condensation. Its the second story so the stack effect explains this. I know they also have high humidity levels as they have no vapor barrier as well.

Thanks , due to this video managed to find a problem that was running 11 yrs . How to prevent the effect ? Make the frontdoor airtight . The effect will stay in the building but not anymore in the houses .

Doesnt relative humidity increase when the air gets colder? It holds more air per voume?

Relative humidity goes up in air gets colder, goes down in warmer air, yes.

I live in a bungalow with a basement pretty far below grade. How would I properly air out my house for radon without creating stack effect or venturi effect?

Do you then airseal from the top down? If you airseal starting from the bottom you risk depressurizing the building. Right?

Great question, John- in heating dominated climates, always airseal the top, then bottom, then middle. In cooling dominated ones, always airseal the bottom, then top, then middle. But not because doing it out of sequence would mess with the pressures- the pressures are messed with regardless of what you do about it. You simply follow the guidance of a hot air balloon: there's a giant hole in every one, at the bottom. But no one worries about cold air getting in and sinking the balloon, because NO AIR CAN GET OUT. Air must escape first, then it's sucked in.

Come to BC Canada, I have a perfect house for some of your videos. 5 year old failed attempt at ‘passiv houss’… drafty triple glazed high end windows, heat pump and hrv unit, but where’s the ventilation? People around here are naive and ignorant to any of this.

I see the problems the penthouse dweller would have from your explanation, but at least, in the summer, the penthouse dweller wouldn't be getting air pollution from the street or ground-level ozone.
Frankly, without a really well-built and maintained building, I wouldn't want to live in a city at all.
