Not having an Instrument Dash Screen or at least a HUD for a driver should illegal Also having everything in the Infotainment system for no good reason like AC and Vent controls is far more distracting than a few Buttons Switches and Knobs, Especially when you have to navigate several menu's before you can access these settings
Got a Mazda cx-5 touring in 2021. Definitely is a match for the Rav4 in every way. 34k with heated leather seats vs 39k Toyota without climate control seats 🤷🏾
This is the stupidity of some thing, it’s illegal to look at your phone while you’re driving, but not illegal to look at the giant 12x 8” screen in the electric car.
Not just EVs, many mainstream auto makers, are going the full on control everything via an infotainment screen. Dual clutch and CVTs were the thin end of the wedge. Give me a manual box any day. No, I don’t mean an auto or semi-automatic; I mean a gearbox with gears the driver chooses. And before someone ask, yes I drive a manual.
They shoulda called it the Quarter Horse.. It's about a quarter as good as a real car,, In all honesty though.. Cougar coulda worked.. It's cat quiet and they still get to piss all over a beloved Marque to sell to B!tchy Karens.. Plus Cougars don't live as long as horses so there's honesty in advertised longevity
I just picked a 2024 Mazda CX 50 over comparable toyota and subaru competitors because the deal was too good. AWD, no dumb cvt or turbo, and 0.9% interest rate for 31k. Just can't beat that these days for a brand new suv. And I'm not one to freely promote some company, I'm just really happy with my deal lol.
don't forget: if you live where it snows you can cut your range almost in half, assuming you want to heat it too; tires wear way faster; repairs cost way more, assuming you.can find someone willing to work on it; insurance is more expensive. as a second car, assuming you have a commute less than 50 miles, maybe.
What gas car is getting 700 miles of range with a fill up? Most cars on the road average less than half of that number. I don't think 700 miles is the threshold, my friend.

My 65 year old mother got this ride, last month, She loves it, she upgraded from a base model Y to this, She has solar panels and battery back up at home and level 2 charging. She prefers the Ford over model Y, she loves all those buttons like a normal car and she does not experience bumpy rattling noises like the model Y, Very smooth ride she says
Must be nice to install solar and Level 2 charging at home. Townhome owners, condo owners, renters, people without garages need not apply. EVs are toys for the well-off, much like every other luxury.

That Mustang screen is absolutely ridiculous. Too damned big, and needs to have a horizontal layout, built into the instrument panel. Looks like a fricken computer with a car built around it.
When Scotty started the interior video the mileage left was 263. While talking about the buttons, knobs, levers, etc the mileage was down to 261 miles. When backing out of the drive down to 257 miles.. The last sight of the mileage while driving was 251. Just messing around cost 12 miles.
is there a chance you have to put in in sport mode to get the full power? I'm assuming there is a launch control feature that Scottie may not be using.. The power should still be there for the passing and from the video it doesn't seem like there is much.
Bought a fiesta with a zetec engine, great little car but the way they have gone in the last few years probably the last ford I buy, shame really got fond memories of them throughout my life
They look like infrared lights. Probably illumination for some sort of driver aware/awake safety system. It would be invisible to your eyes, but most cameras will see it and end up shifting it into the visible spectrum.

I'm no fan of the Mach-E, but it probably has different drive modes like Standard and Sport. I'd bet you were in Standard Mode, leaving the acceleration lackluster. You said it was supposed to have a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds. 3.8 would put you back in your seat

Any vehicle should 'override' your drive setting and give you full power if you FLOOR it. Also not sure if you knew this but many Mach-E's were melting the electric controller in performance mode so Ford's 'fix' was to lower the power rather than replacing it with an adequate controller and provide the advertised power.
@@ArgedisI don't believe you information is accurate. Ford installed much beefer connectors in units that had the problem in 2021, and early 2022, 2023's all got upgrade by default. 2024 gt's got even better electric motor and can sustain even higher output
I DON’T WANT AN ELECTRIC CAR…..🚗 not now or ever. Build good gas powered cars without all the gadgets. They will sell like crazy because they won’t cost as much.
My Veloster is gas, I step on the pedal and it's just stays in place, revs the engine to max, then kicks in hard almost breaking the transmission. Needs severe tunning.
When you did the speed test what mode where you in? There is three modes and if you are in “unbridled” mode it has the “Tesla” acceleration. The other modes deal with saving energy

My Ante purchased one see is a retired Ford Accountant they gave it away lol, she is happy with it, she paid 20k cash brand new for it. it took a week to get it ready because it sat on the lot for over a year. great video
When I was in Florida this past January, I saw a few Ford dealerships that had these things marked down 12-15K trying to sell them. There were rows of them, but nobody seemed to want them for some reason!
Truth be told, this is the only EV aside from Porsche Taycan (and i guess Cadillac Lyriq cuz i love Cadillac's design) that I'd like to have (idc it's not as quick as Tesla, I'm a slow driver anyway)
far out all those screens would do my head in. too complicated, i like my gear stick for autos and manuals, not that silly little dial, more buttons and nobs are preferred over one compact screen
@05Elantra98GSGang I can respectfully disagree. In an ICE engine there is shifting and you feel the reprieve a transmission gives you at the shift point. An electric car hits its powerband and stays there without a hiccup. Especially a performance one. They do feel different. But the difference is in the consistency of the pull. An electric car keeps pulling. That is why a Tesla can have the same quarter mile as a high end sports car.

620 hp and my Fing ebike is restricted to 750 watts class 3. And that's assuming they don't restrict them further. Absolutely insane to allow citizens to drive that kind of muscle on the street with a regular license. Absolute rubbish - no matter how fun they are.
Yeah I'll stick with my 2017 Toyota Corolla that was 16,000 out the door 140,000 mi later. The only thing I've changed is tires, brakes, and battery and a belt. Oh and I've had to do the CVT fluid maintenance a couple times.

I just read an article saying ford out sold every other brand in the US for the last two months and mache sales are 6% over last month. I think these things were over priced before and they over estimated demand and a for a lot people, fastest accelerated isn't a selling point, these things are quick enough
Honestly i feel if this didnt have the mustang name it wouldn't be selling as well. This not having door handles is stupid in my opinion, i feel automakers be going insane putting these monitors in vehicles
It has the Mustang name and its still Not Selling well. EVs are a Joke right now. Only company thats really making money is Tesla and thats because they were first to market. They have a Robust charging network and they have a Cult like Following that the Legacy car manufacturers do not have.
I wonder if it need to be in sport mode to go fast. I know my Mustang isn't all that responsive until I put it in sport mode. The power at high speeds in unreal.
can't stand the trend of bolting cheap looking tablet pcs to the boring dash and making people peck around to find the menu that control everything. I work in the IT industry, that tablet will not be manufactured after that car run ends. What do you do when it breaks, and it will? of course, modern cars are not meant to last anyway, or we wouldn't see 60,000 mile EVs in junk yard auctions as unrepairable.
Problem I see with EVs is that they might be OK new (if mileage per charge was better) ....but they are currently very expensive compared with ICE cars and question is how much will they be worth 3 or 4 years down the road when batteries are halfway through their life .......... and reportedly it's very expensive to replace them.
The name is heresy but the Mach-E isn't a bad car, if you get like 30% off the price, can charge at home and don't drive long distances. I wouldn't want it as my only car but it would make a great commuter 2nd car.

Mazda seems to be better than almost all other brands, especially in the affordable price range.
Mazda seems to be a great brand and lots of models and trim choices. They are up there with Toyota and Honda now and doing joint work with Toyota now.
I would only get a new Honda or Toyota Hybrid, no electrics or plug in hybrids.

Mach Es are pretty decent. Driven one for a couple years and haven’t had any major issues.

The car will have over 200k miles before they will likely need replacing. A lot of ice car are cost prohibitive to repair after 200k miles

I'm no fan of the Mach-E, but it probably has different drive modes like Standard and Sport. I'd bet you were in Standard Mode, leaving the acceleration lackluster. You said it was supposed to have a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds.
3.8 would put you back in your seat

Any vehicle should 'override' your drive setting and give you full power if you FLOOR it.
Also not sure if you knew this but many Mach-E's were melting the electric controller in performance mode so Ford's 'fix' was to lower the power rather than replacing it with an adequate controller and provide the advertised power.
@@ArgedisI don't believe you information is accurate. Ford installed much beefer connectors in units that had the problem in 2021, and early 2022, 2023's all got upgrade by default. 2024 gt's got even better electric motor and can sustain even higher output
That Mach E is nearly twice the price of that 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid you just reviewed. INSANE
The luxurious premium trim is 40k and you get a much better lease deals with the mache

My Veloster is gas, I step on the pedal and it's just stays in place, revs the engine to max, then kicks in hard almost breaking the transmission. Needs severe tunning.
When you did the speed test what mode where you in? There is three modes and if you are in “unbridled” mode it has the “Tesla” acceleration. The other modes deal with saving energy

My Ante purchased one see is a retired Ford Accountant they gave it away lol, she is happy with it, she paid 20k cash brand new for it. it took a week to get it ready because it sat on the lot for over a year. great video
When I was in Florida this past January, I saw a few Ford dealerships that had these things marked down 12-15K trying to sell them. There were rows of them, but nobody seemed to want them for some reason!

far out all those screens would do my head in. too complicated, i like my gear stick for autos and manuals, not that silly little dial, more buttons and nobs are preferred over one compact screen

@05Elantra98GSGang I can respectfully disagree. In an ICE engine there is shifting and you feel the reprieve a transmission gives you at the shift point. An electric car hits its powerband and stays there without a hiccup. Especially a performance one. They do feel different. But the difference is in the consistency of the pull. An electric car keeps pulling. That is why a Tesla can have the same quarter mile as a high end sports car.

620 hp and my Fing ebike is restricted to 750 watts class 3. And that's assuming they don't restrict them further. Absolutely insane to allow citizens to drive that kind of muscle on the street with a regular license. Absolute rubbish - no matter how fun they are.

I only drive older cars. 2005 Toyota Corolla now. Manual transmission, 250k miles and runs great.
Yeah I'll stick with my 2017 Toyota Corolla that was 16,000 out the door 140,000 mi later. The only thing I've changed is tires, brakes, and battery and a belt. Oh and I've had to do the CVT fluid maintenance a couple times.

Did you have it in Unbridled or Track mode? A Mustang Dark Horse is . 3 seconds slower 0 to 60 than the Mach E and that's before the new update.
From what I can tell is, the biggest problem with electric vehicles is the replacement batteries cost more than the vehicles cost originally.
Yeah it's awful. At least with hybrid battery, costs like 800 + labor. But electric vehicles are insanely high prices
What do you do in a flood? Big battery positioned at the lowest part of the car. Loss of power at charging stations . What do you do?

Batteries are designed to last 20 years, 200k miles, a which point you still should have I think around 75% of original range

I just read an article saying ford out sold every other brand in the US for the last two months and mache sales are 6% over last month. I think these things were over priced before and they over estimated demand and a for a lot people, fastest accelerated isn't a selling point, these things are quick enough

can't stand the trend of bolting cheap looking tablet pcs to the boring dash and making people peck around to find the menu that control everything. I work in the IT industry, that tablet will not be manufactured after that car run ends. What do you do when it breaks, and it will? of course, modern cars are not meant to last anyway, or we wouldn't see 60,000 mile EVs in junk yard auctions as unrepairable.
I don't hafta go 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. It's fun but it wears tires and generally tears stuff up faster.

Problem I see with EVs is that they might be OK new (if mileage per charge was better) ....but they are currently very expensive compared with ICE cars and question is how much will they be worth 3 or 4 years down the road when batteries are halfway through their life .......... and reportedly it's very expensive to replace them.
The name is heresy but the Mach-E isn't a bad car, if you get like 30% off the price, can charge at home and don't drive long distances. I wouldn't want it as my only car but it would make a great commuter 2nd car.
