    This is excellent info. The realities of a beautiful piece of land can end a daydream really quickly!

    Water tanks are cheaper then wells, works for us with a family of 5.
    I’ve also tasted some bore (well) water that’s quite the acquired taste.

    Im from The Netherlands and have fallen in love with Montanas inhabitants and its beautiful countryside (through videos and pictures - bet seeing it in real life beats all of those tho).
    Anyways I am considering to purchase a property there one day.
    I subscribed to your channel in hopes to learn more about all the things necessary to one day make this dream come true.
    Looking forwards to now watch the rest of your TH-cam channel as this is the first video i found.
    Much love from The Netherlands!

      We get it too.
      We live in the Communist Liberal state of WA and absolutely HATE it since Microsoft relocated into our area from LibTard Seattle.
      I’m a WA native and over my lifetime I’ve watched my once pristine state go from a Great place to live, to a $hithole since the Liberals, like cancer are killing our beautiful state.
      My wife is a native MT woman, so we’re bailing out and relocating to MT.

    I fell in luv with Whitefish when we spent a month there in summer of 2019. We’re planning another extended western US trip next summer and I’ll speculate we’ll choose Whitefish for a week or two.
    I really like your informative videos, and like thousands of others, wish we could have a place in the area. Keep the great videos coming.

    Great info on buying a large acreage and splitting it up. It was an idea our family have been tossing about, not for resale but for family. So now we know we need to investigate a bit before buying the property. Also well depths and utility info is good to know. It is a beautiful place, I have heard to be cautious of land that is a heavy snake area as well.

      If it’s for family you could keep it under your name and just build multiple houses on it, but of course I’m no expert on all the rules

    We’re looking for land to buy. Libby is our #1 choice but we’d be willing for somewhere else in MT, as long as there’s Pine Trees.
    The land must have a working well that doesn’t run dry, the utilities have to be at the property line, it must be septic approved and on a county road that the county plows.
    My wife is a chemotherapy infusion nurse, so she’d prefer to continue working in that specialty.
    We are very much aware that she’ll have to take a $10 per hour Cut in pay, which is ridiculous. The insurance companies will pay whatever it costs for the services necessary, so nursing staff should get the same amount of pay as they do here in Washington state.
    I had to retire early on a medical.
    Our budget is around $550K, so that will have to pay for the property and the Meadowlark log home.
    My wife is a MT native and I’m a WA native.
    I know that I’ll die before my wife so that’s why we’re relocating to MT. After my death, she will need family closer and friends who will help her after I’m gone.

    What county's are great for a family that are away from big cities and decent on home prices? I'd say still 40min drive to grocery store. We need a starting point to start our search. We are from NC, so don't be worried about us coming on over if that's ok.

    Grizzlies can open car doors and even break into your house. You need to watch a documentary called night of the Grizzlies. Also buy a lot of guns , big guns you can't knock over a grizzly with something small like a 357 .That will just make them more angry.

    Is solar power an option in Montana?

    • @specialestness
      @specialestness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know how much sunlight you need for solar but this time of year is about 8 hours of good bright sunlight(if there aren’t clouds) and like 18 hours in the summer.

      There isn’t very many rural water districts in MT. You’re either stuck with cisterns or a well. Not everywhere is well water usable.

    It’s a PLOT map, not a Platt map 🙄.
    Love it “If you’re thinking of moving to Montane, don’t “ (long pause)....

    • @LivinginMontana1
      @LivinginMontana1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A plat is a map of a land area, usually on the scale of a neighborhood or county township, and a plot is a piece of land used for a single purpose (such as a park or a home). Essentially, a plat map records the collection of plots that make up a neighborhood. Know your maps!
