So many of us grew up without any sort of skatepark at all. As bad as this is, I would have killed for it growing up. It has actual obstacles that aren't curbs.
Skating PA from 1995 to 2010 we had no skate parks. If I wanted to skate park I would travel up hill both ways to Philly!!!😂

The video isn't about people who don't have parks, i mean, there are thousand of videos like this from braille alone (maybe hundred braille alone lol), your post is implying they shouldn't do this out of pure respect for people who don't have or didn't grew up with skateparks, which is ridiculous, I'm from paris, I myself did roller before i got into skating when i was younger and i almost never went to skatepark for either of them because street skating was enough to enjoy, and because parks are always crowded.
You got to enjoy this video for what it is, and got to admit this is one of the worst skatepark ever made.

@@golendorfjules1838 No. His post is implying that this isn't a terrible park. Like not even top 1000 worst skateparks out there. There are literally thousands of towns that have nothing more than a broken mini ramp stuck in a gravel parking lot. This is drastically superior to what a lot of towns have.
I like Uzi’s idea of talking to the people who make/design these parks. Like ask them what they were thinking when they made certain obstacles & maybe see if they themselves can skate it.

I want to see Braille pull something together and rebuild this place.
I doubt it was even designed by a skater.
Projects like these are often the result of municipal government leaders awarding the contract to build a skatepark to their buddy who’s a general contractor (and who doesn’t know or car to know the first thing about skating). The GC obviously subcontracts everything out and pays wayyy less than what the contract pays

To be honest, I kinda like how simplistic it is while being surrounded by a nice field of grass. If they'd at least implement more space to have it less cramped and actually have room to land a trick properly, this could be a neat spot.
So just beyond the treeline of this park is a series of office buildings and I worked in one for 8 years. I had a friend of mine that would always sneak off somewhere and take a mid day nap. One time he went to the skatepark and took a nap in the snake run and was woken up by police because a news helicopter flew by and called him in to police as a potential dead body 😂😂😂

Nigel I get you and take this from an engineer who had his fair share of beefs with city councils, they are not, by any stretch of the imagination, 100% comprised with competent or even educated people. Some of them are borderline corrupt and do this kind of projets all the time to benefit friends and family that have construction companies.
It’s like you’re describing the place I used to live. The skate park was, in fact, built by a construction company owned by the mayor’s family and in a double whammy they used eminent domain to force a small business owner off their land to build it.
The park sucks.
Some kind of transparency organization comprised of skaters/engineers should be formed to monitor park builds, bringing attention to problems like this before they’re set in stone.

I live in a small town, and to me that looks like one of the very common, "continuing project" sort of things. They probably intend to pave and expand obstacles as money becomes available, but no money ever does.
Imagine being a skater in a small town in Iowa during the 90's where the nearest park was over 2 hours away. We skated the two stairs at the elementary school and at the bank drive up.

This isn't even top 1000 honestly. There's so many 'parks' with literally one obstacle to skate or nothing but a pitted up parking lot with a broken mini ramp.

Same here!! When I started in '85, I lived in the mountains, nowhere near town and all I had was my bedroom floor or the garage. Skateboarders skate regardless of what they have to skate...
Yup, I am old too and if something like this existed when I was a kid, my friends and I would have pushed our boards seven miles to skate it.
Most towns still have much much less than this if anything at all. This park is not that bad at all compared to thousands of worse parks out there.
My guess is that this was supposed to be the first part of a larger park that never happened. I know that's probably not true, but it's the only way I can process this.

usually what happens is someone plans the park and the city gets a budget to execute it.....looks like city got plans , downsized the plans, then had the lowest bidding contractor do the work.
Compared to what i 've skated in my youth this is actually a nice park...😂

Seriously, these Cali guys are such babies. "What do we doooo..waaaah". Go to the supermarket buy a box of Gulf wax and wax up that snake run and have fun. Anyone who grew up skating on the East Coast has skated far worse spots than this.
This is in Glendale, Ohio. I live around three miles from this "park." Fortunately, we have several other skate parks in the area.

I don't know about the worst, but you could check out Breslin Park in Louisville, Ky. It's skatepark section is pretty small, but i feel like it's designed a little better than the one in the above video. Also, if memory serves me correctly, it was designed by the people at Home Skate Shop, our local shop.
A link to the videos referenced at the end, would be helpful. That is the one thing I feel is often missing from the Braille videos. Even when in the video itself is stated "link in the description" it is not always there. just the normal, braille links.

I love how the seating is positioned in a way to make skating the one obstacle in that area more difficult. Just goes to show this park values sitting more than skating, lol. Can't get buck without common cents... (pun alert)

Gotta check out the Philomath Oregon skate park. It definitely rivals this on bootyness but there’s a few more obstacles and a horrible mini ramp.

The closest skate park to me is this little raised section off of the main path at the park that's just a weird box rail and a ledge. That's it and it's still called a skate park somehow.

We have a lot of skateparks popping up in western NC/southern Appalachians. I can't promise it won't get humid but it is cooler, y'all socal folks need to come out here and skate what we got, which ain't a lot, mind you. Also, my current city, Sylva, NC, is about to build their own skatepark and could always use feedback from the skater community.

Where is this park at?
There is a "skatepark" in Beulah MI that consists of 2 Ramps and flat bar on the worst ground ever. That is by far the worst skatepark I've ever been to.
Come down to Mississippi. There’s a skate spot in Iuka that’s smaller than that.

Yeah, check out Cottage Grove Skatepark in Cottage Grove, Oregon. A bunch of guys who layed sidewalks for a living did it. Worst park I've ever been to and it was my home park for years.
Check out Big wells Texas skate park. The town doesn’t even have a stop light and the skate park is a skate stop itself

I wish y'all could come to my local park in Canada! Wouldn't say it's horrible, but there are some obstacles I'd love to see y'all skate on (I.E: a huge half-pipe with 1-feet vertical drop)!

The worst skate park i ever been to was in Lakeway texas a sketchy bowl little vert ramps like i dont there was a rail or anything definitely couldn't do a line
Without McNugg & Mogely these videos are lacking the positivity to balance out all the negativity now. Even JD is putting out more negativity now. Hoping y'all find the positivity to balance the vibes out moving forward.
For what its worth, a lot of these parks y'all say are the worst, make some of the most interesting videos aesthetically. The place is unique, like nothing I have seen, makes for a great video even if the park would work as a daily local.

huntsville tx. it's like a 20x30 slab with a half pipe 2 wedges and only 1 rail. no room, anywhere.
If there’s even possibly a park worse than this, I don’t think it could actually be considered a park. That’s how bad this park is.

Can’t believe you guy’s found this park. My friends and I used to skate this park when we first started in the early 2000s. Lots of fun street spots nearby. Hope you checked out oak park in Wyoming and Joyce in Fairfield while in the area!

You should see some of the Uk skateparks especially the nearest one to me, it’s just ramps whereas before it had a half pipe.
Your fremont park would be a dream.our parks are a fraction of the size of fremont.
On your way back to cali can you check out Q-skatepark. It’s my favorite by far and it’s located in Indianapolis

Two days in Lethbridge, 4 in Calgary ;) You'll see the best and worst Alberta has to offer ... and I totally am non biased in my request for two days in Lethbridge because we have three awesome parks and a serious candidate for worst park in Alberta with the fourth one 😅
That skate park was made by Boy Scouts. It’s on the same street as my favorite deadmall Forest fair.

I got it, it's a sidewalk with obstacles that you, like, walk the dog around for half hour or so. Or, old people. Ya, never ending sidewalk. Perfect.
Try the Auburn, IN skatepark. They polished the concrete til it was ice and built the world's smallest steepest pool/bowl.
this is badass compared to the quarter pipe, mini spine, and flybox that was the entirety of the Albion NY park. Mightve had a kink rail at one point too but i think its all gone now.
The only thing this park probably has going for it, is that the locals don't have to worry about being harassed by the cops skating there, where as, they probably hassle them every where else. I can just imagine a cop telling a kid that is caught grinding an edge, somewhere in town, "we built you that great skate park, why are you making me take you to jail for skating in town?"
Still better than many of those we got here in Germany. Just found a park with a single "obstacle" that is just a little "ramp" or better said just a meter of wood so you can drive downwards like a meter 😂 Not a single pipe, not a single rail, not even much space do push around. I don't even know why it's called skatepark

As long as you guys are in the area, you should checkout Newport skatepark under the bridge.... yes, that is what it is called.

not a bad one but we have one in our town that is kind of small but worth the trip. Come to Delano CA, Cecil park skate park . I think we had Element come by one time and lots of stuff
Bicentennial park in Crystal River, fl. They have a skatepark, it's literally only 3 ramps n maybeb 2 rails. That's it!
as someone born and raised in cincinnati, you could definitely find a few that are much worse if you just ask around lol
I would rather have this than my local skatepark. The local skaters is trying to make it work. Its basically a square with some woodward ramps, manny pad, and rails. Its like they got a whole skate park and put it all in a small square.

The worst skatepark I've seen is in Louisville Ohio. It's so bad it's next impossible to find when searching for a skatepark. It's in Wilson park on Michigan Ave near the corner of W Main. If you do happen to come in the area, go to 9th St DIY in Canton. That's my favorite local and possibly the best DIY skatepark in Ohio.
Idk the best DIY are in Dayton IMO

looks like its from the 80s the little box at the start was added after prolly by a local who used cheaper concrete. the lip looks like it was waxed when it was made but the suns long melted it away.
This is really the worst haha. I havent even been but its probably really close to where I live abd never been.. I am a Braille Army Plus Memeber!! And its awesome!!
