I found this after the fact: Before the age of streaming, this song was very hard to find because it does not appear on compilations, is not available for download, and the original album is out of print. Since the band refused to perform it and distanced themselves from it, the song suffered from a lack of promotion that kept it from becoming a much bigger hit and severely restricted its availability. It is not included on other Climax Blues Band greatest hits packages.
@@SignalCorps1 More early 80s vibe I think. Soft rock ballads from early 80s had that echo drums and dreamy atmosphere. Late 70s soft rock tended to be a bit more acoustic with the vocals sounding higher in the mix and featured more orchestration behind.

One couple asked for this song and for some reason it was the hardest song to find. This was before you could download anything online so I had to scour every music store for miles around. After a couple of months I finally got a copy of it from a local radio station. I heard them play it and drove there immediately. It was worth it. I just ran into the couple a few weeks ago and they’re still together.
the band dates back to the 60's... prolific band, such a broad range of music.. some of their members are pushing 80 now, and they still perform occasionally for small venues.

I was in boot camp at the time when I heard this. Still one of the best love songs out there. Another I like is "Forever My Love" by the Association. Came out if I remember correctly in '67. There's an instrumental one that made the charts in '68 called "Love is Blue" by Paul Mauriate. You should listen to it, I think you will like it.

I'm somewhat of a regular at a karaoke bar in Old Town Scottsdale and the first time I busted this out I had so many people come up to me and let me know how they remembered the song and what it meant to them at the time it came out. I've yet to find this magical woman but not losing hope.

This song was written about my life. I met the most beautiful and amazing woman 39 years ago at the lowest point of my life. I was broken. She introduced me to Jesus. That was a life changer. There will never ever be a time again like the 70s music. It was so diverse with so many Fantastic songs from so many different genres. I've got over 1,000 CDs in my music collection most of them being from the late 60s too early 80s and I still hear songs like this and can't believe that I forgot they existed and don't have them in my collection. Over that 70s music collection, almost every single song on every single CD is good. I would say that at least 95% of the CDs/albums I've got, every single is good. Nowadays you could download a good song here in there but I think very few artists have albums where every single song is good. And very few artists with the talent that they had in the 70s. At least Talent when it comes to composing music.
